Might I offer turning down the music a little bit as it’s quite a bit louder than when you talk, which at that time, consequently, is a bit low to hear. Love your videos 👍🏼
Yeah.. Thanks for the the video.. I could hear the rel bottoming out on my cell phone when playing Edge of tomorrow.. Not nice at all.. BTW. Can you please tell me the gain and crossover settings you were using... Thanks
Thank you! Its worth it. I really liked the 1510. I am sticking with my PB4000 for now. I should have a clearer idea of what I want to do sub-wise next year.
Great Review . also very unbiased is what i like. I have seen other reviews that are huge Rel Fanboys and would not give the PB4000 any type of respect at all Keep up the great work.
Each does everything well. And, each does some things a little better than the other. For now, I still have the SVS but I'm still deciding on where to go with the subwoofer choice. Both are great subs and worth a try.
Exceptional job with this video demonstrating the differences between the subs. The measurements don't lie. I suspect you would even out some of those dips with a 2nd sub. So, are you making a change? Keep up the good work 🍺
I really like both. For now I am staying with the PB4000. The REL 1510 seems a bit more precise which makes sense since its a closed box. But, the PB4000 is a monster and seems to handle anything. To me, can't go wrong with either.
Based on the response the Rel seems to a very good job at keeping up with the PB. I haven’t had the opportunity to compare them side by side. The Rel sure looks nice and saves a lot of space.
A reference audio movie still to this day and I think also a reference demo for guests is Deepwater Horizon. Still the best for what Dolby Atmos can do and sounds like, while giving every speaker and your subs a full grueling workout.
I am putting in lots of time with it. I will definitely see if there are any changes in the REW measurements or to my subjective ear over time. But, it is an awesome subwoofer.
@@stillbluehometheater1056 Yeah, these Rel’s don’t go as low as the SVS subs but more than makes up for that by providing everything else in a master class with speed, accuracy and detail & refinement. I would choose Rel’s over SVS’s any day even with action movies.
@@rayking507 Based off all of the internet commentary and the market flooded with SVS gear, it is astonishing how people are so fixated on stats and “horsepower” numbers of audio gear. I have a little speedwoofer that easily outperforms any SVS gear I have tried, yet it has half the wattage. Heck, my clumsy yet oddly refined monolith 16 amazes me. There is a certain texture and voice to REL subs, and SVS does not have anything worth writing home about. Once you know, you know. There is a reason the more seasoned ear ends up moving to this brand over time.
Scale on y axies in REW should be 45-105dB easier to see response. Also comparing response is fine, but what about power compression? At higher levels I suspect some differences will show up especially in the lower frequencies. Thank you for the review. If you add another rel perhaps it starts to match the overall spl for low end impact.
Gonna have to give SVS another try. When I demoed the PB Ultra 16 it was boomy sounding compared to the 1508 but these 4000s are damn near equal to the 1510s on the graph. I was expecting to see the 4000s much worse than this compared to the RELs. You should try the S812 now with the 4000.
I really liked them both for different reasons. Still not completely sure which direction I will go. But, I am leaning toward a second PB4000--stay with what I know and already like.
@@stillbluehometheater1056 I have Dual 1508s for mid bass and was thinking of getting a third before they are out of stock but then saw this video and started to think how the 4000 is in midbass.

YES!!!
you should really try comparing a sealed subwoofer with a sealed subwoofer
Wrong end for opening up 🙄👎🏼🏴
But good demo and info well done 👏🏼 👍🏼 thank you 🏴

Great Review....
I thinking of getting Duals Rel 1510.

Depending on your Budget...
try JTR

hello, can I ask you to set up your rel 1510 subwoofer, a photo from the back to my email?
I think this subwoofer sounds great in movies, I want to buy them, what can you say for music? ?
I enjoyed the REL. Its a tight and articulate sub. It handles music well.
Love this Sub!
It is really hard to me to be selecting, between both of them
Can't go wrong with either. I liked them both for different reasons. It is a difficult decision.
Nice review !
what was your best bass conclusion?

Are you switching from SVS to Rel? What are your thoughts on the Rel 1510?

I still use the hospital explosion scene in The Dark Knight as a go to demo.
Christopher Nolan definitely does not shy away from those low frequencies. Huge fan of his movies.

Hi, did you run in the Rel Predator before these tests. Because I have Rel 1205 and it performed much better after run in period.

How Low does the Rel go, hz wise?

That intro is amazing 👍 1510 is on the heavy side compared to my (dual) S/510.
Still wondering which is better for my HT oriented sub .
What do you mean heavy?
@@jimthestargazer literally .. in Kg 😁 As I get older I prefer more and more below 30-35Kg weight.

I want to check those out. Read about them but have not yet experienced them.
The pulse server lab scene is another great scene to test.
The pb 4000 kicks ass during that scene
Never seen the movie but I will try to find it and check it out. I like finding new movies. Thank you!
