So far I’ve only had to use blue but ya I only use to get a door working until I get back there with correct springs I’ll let them know it a temporary repair
we use cable clamps too all the time they work fine, with the block types the screws stick out way to far and would hit the wall all the time, when the spring is rotating
@@affordabledoorgatellc7391I think the cable clamps was what I meant in the email, I wasn’t even aware these blocks existed but the blocks definitely look easier to use
I do that on commercial quite a bit so customers can get by until i come back with new springs. Only problem is i had a few springs break on me while winding them. A little scary to hear the pop but not as dangerous as you might think. The spring just loses tension immediately.
Yes indeed. When I was young and thought I was invincible I never wore safety glasses. I value my eyes with age so safety glasses it is or the Chinese eyes if I have to lol.

Dave, you need to get one of the spring spreader tools from denco. They make it way easier to get the clamps on there.
I totally agree they do work nice.
Nice video
Thanks papa 😁

That is a good point. Do you still double them up on big springs?

used cable clamps for years until recently metal seems cheaper started using those blocks. Always do one less turn on clamped spring
I did try the cable clamps and it did work but I felt like a fish out of water using them lol.
