I am beginning my soap making journey and really appreciated this video. Are you based in Canada? I noticed the links brought me to Cdn sites...a pleasant surprise.
The Isopropyl alcohol helps to incorporate additives into the soap base and burst any bubbles for a better final result. It is not absolutely necessary, but it is beneficial to the final outcome of the soap.
If you use a high percentage alcohol (e.g. 99% Isopropryl Alcohol) and only a tiny amount to dissolve the mica, the alcohol should evaporate and not leave any scent in the soap. If you find a better way to do it that works for you, I'd love for you to share it. Thanks for watching!
I think the swirl "fail" is one of the most pretty soaps!

How in God's good name did you keep your soap melted so long? Mine is already going hard the minute it's off the heat. Beautiful results.

With my experiment I put my mold in warm water in a deep dish while pouring 🌻

Do we need to only use isopropyl alcohol?

Can you use Bentonite Clay instead?
I haven't used Bentonite Clay mysef, but I think it should work just fine. Thanks for watching!🙂
Great video but never use alcohol in soaps or molds as it's drying.
May i substitute kaolin clay with benzonite clay?
The Alcohol in the mica makes the soap smell awful in my opinion .
