My cut was terrible....lol ut still came out looking very nice. End up being one of my biggest selling soaps....thanks. PS. Use mica powder red, no bleeding.
Could someone please tell me why I can’t keep a thin trace with welt and pour. It hardens too fast for me to do anything fancy. I’m very new at this but I’m in a situation where i have to learn quickly. My daughter needs soap for her new store. HELPPPPP 16:29
I love how you figured out to do this! Thank you! I learned a lot! Zenicolor is the only non bleeding clear wet colorant I've heard of so far... and the shipping from eaurope is expensive. Regarding adding titanium dioxide will not keep the vanilla from browning i am sorry to tell you... if it would, then the titanium dioxide in the white base would have you covered. Vanilla color stabilizer only slows the process but is a better bet that the titanium dioxide. Personally i would have only used the FO with vanilla in it on the black parts where it wont show. For me, i find it unacceptable that a soap i sell turn brown on a customer. Especially because brown is also the color of rot. I want my customers to feel 100% confident in their trust in me and my soaps. It is aggravating to have to deal with that aspect but vital imo. The WORST thing that coukd happen to our industry is people loosing trust avout home made soaps. Imo, we must be different with this and with additives that can rot, like flower petal etc. We are not only hurting the client when we do this, but our own businesss and the industry itself. You know?💜💜💜
thank you for the feedback. I don't sell products and all the soaps I gave away were used right away so I never saw them turn brown though I'm sure they would have.
But if you're teaching this to people you should make sure they know. The people they give or sell it to may not use it right away. Vanilla in FO will, in time, turn soap brown. The answer is to either use VCS Vanilla Color Stabilizer, or use that FO in soaps that are brown or black or wont ruin the look if they turn brown. Here you could have addes the FO with vanilla in it to the black. Couldn't you add a banner saying so? Or at least put it in your comments?💜💜💜
I'm trying to figure an easy way to figure the % of fragrance oil to use. You mentioned 2% is two grams. Is 3% 3 grams of fo weighed, 4% 4 grams. 5% 5 g for entire batch and so on or am I not understanding correctly. I get confused on percentages and how much to add to weight of batch. Thanks
the fo percentage depends on which fo you are using and how strong you want the scent. make sure to follow the manufacture requirements. I tent to use small percentages because I don't like fragrant soaps. if you are using 3% fo, you would add 3% of the total batch of soap.
Thank you. I spray alcohol to get the layers to stick together also to get rid of the bubbles. I only do that with melt and pour. The alcohol evaporates. check this video out, it will help you learn more about melt and pour th-cam.com/video/47y5hjCblKU/w-d-xo.html
This is really beautiful! I can’t cut straight either and I seem to have trouble cutting the right size soap. They are never even so I ordered this MP cutter as well. Hopefully I’ll get good at using it
@@SudsBees how long does the black rest before pouring a layer of white? Also, how much titanium dioxide should be added and what coconut milk base have you used? Thank you!
How does the white soap stick to the diagonal piece without breaking apart, if it was already hardened? Im having a problem with 5 layer soap breaking apart. I use alcohol spray, and wait for a skin to develop.
I had that same issue when I moved to TX, make sure you scratch the hard piece with a toothpick and make sure to scratch the corners real well, use 91% alcohol do not create layers using 99%.
@@SudsBees Thanks. It was the 99% ive been using, so i'll try the 91%. I just wanted to ask.. see when i pour my first layer and spray it to get the bubbles out, after im ready to pour my next layer, do i spray it again just before pouring?
@@SudsBees Can you please clarify if you use 99% or 91% Rubbing Alcohol? Your video says 99% but in the comments you say 91%. I’ve had problems with my layers not sticking too. I will try scratching the surfaces too. Thank you for your video!!!
@@thbailey3 I used 99% in this soap which was ok with the weather at the time. I no longer use 99% when creating layers because the weather is so bipolar here in TX sometimes the layers won't stick. I now only use 91% when creating layers. Hope this helps.
spray 91% alcohol on the set layer before pouring the new layer 5:08 . and to make sure it really sets, prior to spraying the alcohol scratch the bottom layer with a toothpick (I noticed I've had to do this during hot weather) happy making!
For non bleeding colorants, Wholesale Supplies Plus (www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com) have them on their website. I haven’t purchased any of their colorants yet. Just started making soap around seven months ago.

Very beautiful soap 😍... What do you disperse the charcoal and T. D in before adding them to the soap?
rubbing alcohol, it will evaporate when the soap is setting
This is so pretty. Did you color your clear soap using the charcoal or mica and then add the activated charcoal?
I just used charcoal
Where do I get the base from

When you cutting next day and continue pouring soap on tap haw the soap stick to gether

What is white powder u added
Titanium dioxide
Titanium dioxide to keep the white from going brown because the fragrance has vanilla

So you can add the Titanium which is the powder? to the soap?

What do you dissolve with your charcoal
99% rubbing alcohol

about 6 hours
