Ambleside in January

- What is Ambleside like in January? One of the main towns in the Lake District. Is it busy? Is it quiet? Are the shops open? Will I be able to get a parking space? Join me for a walk from Windermere lake front to the town centre as I try and answer these questions. En-route we will take a quick look at the Roman Fort, see how easy it is to get to the town centre from the lake and maybe get a quick airshow from the RAF!!!

Nice to be back in the lakes
Absolutely. 😀 A great time of year to visit.
Great to see you out and about again Paul
Great video, Ambleside a lovely place, been once that's all.
Thanks Kevin. Great to be back out. 👍🏻
Good to see you back on your feet Paul. Didn't know about the fort. You walked past Freshers Cafe, we can recommend that one.
Never seen Ambleside that quiet.
Thank you. 😀It’s good to be back on my feet! I need to get some walking in and shed some of the lockdown pounds!! It was very quiet. Much quieter than I expected to be honest. 😀👍🏻
One day we will visit. Thank you for the video. 🇧🇳
Thank you for watching. 😀
My daughter and I visited Ambleside in August 2015, staying at the wonderful YHA hostel on Waterhead Pier. We had a stunning view out of our window! Thanks for taking me back. :-)
Sounds like you had a great time & some happy memories. Thanks for watching. 😀
Visit Ambleside in May and be amazed!
A nice time to visit. 👍🏻
Good to see you out n about Paul, lucky to be there when RAF where doing they're thing👍 also Ramsay filmed the place behind Bridge House for Kitchen nightmares
I remember that being on Kitchen Nightmares. I think he stole one of the cooks for his own restaurant if I remember rightly.
Yeah you're right I think he did, hope you've plenty planned for the coming months, always enjoy your videos.Consider Aquarium of the lakes and Talkin Tarn this year😀👍
Was planning on Aquarium of the lakes last year but never got there - something for this year. Talking Tarn is a good suggestion, thanks.
Both the RAF and US Air Force use the Lake District for low flying training. They can often appear with little warning....
The jets were USAF F15's :)
Great video, where was the first scene shot overlooking the Windermere lake and mountains from above? Beautiful 😊
Hello. Thanks for watching. 😀 That first shot was from a drone hovering above the car park at Waterhead.
Hello from Medina. Saudi Arabia. I visited Ambleside in July and it was beautiful. Thank you for the tour.
Hello to you. 😀 Thank you for watching. I’m pleased you enjoyed your visit.
