There was plenty of tips, also maybe come to terms with the fact you got a shity stupid cat. But either way it takes time and patience and effort. Some cats know and some don’t but the ones that don’t aren’t helpless in the sense it can’t be fixed. Do all the tips and stay in it. There’s no simple answer lol

To train your cat to do their business in the litter box (for kitties):
1. When training a cat to go into a litter box, use the paper that you used for stimulation or the paper that you use to stimulate her to go pee so she can be familiar with her pee scent. Let the kitten smell it.
2. If she/he is having a hard time with the litter box, (like mine), stimulate her in the litter box so she knows where to do her business.
3. Give her praise when she goes to the bathroom!!
4. If she's still having a hard time keep trying this method. If she really is having a hard time put her face by her pee scent so she could smell it again, although I don't recommend this cause my cat would get freaked out.

Some additional tips.
Get some cat treats and try to get their attention with them near the litter box. Reach over the box with the treat in your hand and try to get them to step into it. If they step into it, give them the treat while praising them accordingly, especially by petting/scratching/stroking them (all cats have different preferences in this regard).
The idea here is that after their praise, they may get curious about the box and begin scratching at the litter if they feel the need to use it (ideally).
Aww I’m getting a cat but I’m not ready yet I have a mean dog and it’s going to be in a room with outlets and we got the litter that we used to get for our other cat that ran away

Wow, thank you for the advice. All I had to do was have 3 litter boxes for my three young cats, and now they all potty in their own box with zero accidents ! ! I clean their boxes everyday that only takes 4 minutes total ( timed myself ) and now we all are happy campers. The key again was a litter box for each cat and clean them each day.

Wee rescued my kitten a few months ago not from a shelter it was from under my porch and she was born there and raised there but her mother left her so we rescued her and she new how to use the litter box right away and she LOVES baths
a kitten that has been outdoors goes in dirt or sand. i rescued a once feral 50 day old kitten and he used the litterbox for 1st time instantly.

I picked my cat up, sat him in the litter box and then I rubbed his front two paws in the litter. That’s it. He’s been using the litter box ever since. The whole training process took less than a minute. My cat is exceptionally smart though so it might not be the same for everybody
2:28 under most circumstances, do not clean it with soap otherwise it will smell differently to what it did before so your cat might get uncomfortable as it may seem like a new litterbox to them
You can use unscented soap. But you should scrub the litter with some kind of disinfectant every month or so. Otherwise harmful bacteria will start to grow and can infect your cat, or even you.

Me too! I am getting a cat in about 1-2 weeks or so and i am so excited! Just a bit nervous of how it can learn to pee or poop in the litter box
Some people believe pushing a cat's nose gently in the area where it pooped, not directly in the poop that's already been cleared up, and then gently pop her in her tray nose first, she will learn to use the litter tray more quickly and better. But some people think that's cruel. Dog poop however is more difficult to manage because a poop scoop and doggy poop bags outside is what a dog needs. And a dog who puts its own nose in its own poop is gross.

we also saved a female cat from the streets into our house, during the first days she was using our shower sink hole in the ground to pee and poo, it was like she already knew what to do, but then now a few weeks passed by and she is peeing on different parts of the house, when we keep the bathroom always clean, I wonder why that is and how to change this behavior (if possible at all)

Sincere question: do you leave the poop out there to fertilize your yard, or do you have to go hunting for it each and every time???
@@superdemonboy It will "burn" the grass if you leave it (& annoy the person cutting the grass) so I use my spring rake to "sweep" it into the flower garden. Kitty uses the same general area so there's not a lot of hunting to do.

Can someone tell me something I don't know. I have two litter boxes one cat. Unscented litter, ones closed ones open and 30 percent bigger. She'll pee in the closed one but doesn't use the open litter box at all. It's nowhere near her food. I occasionally put her food bowl near where she poops as a way of saying no not hear this area is food worthy. I'm about to try hiding the closed litter box so she has to use the open one. It's really not to bad to pick up poop but I really feel like she should know this instinctively.

My cat is really confusing. She has pooped in her litter box once but that's it. She has never peed in it and decides to pee on my bed instead. Everytime I see she's about to go pee pee on the bed I pick her up to her litter box but nothing happens and she leaves. I've put her in her litter box a couple more times and sometimes she would even lay in it, but she just won't pee or poo in it, why?
My guess is that it was the specific litter that was the problem, but what confused me is that she *has* pooped in her litter box with that specific litter, on her own (she never buried her poop tho) so that proved to me that she *can* do her business in the litter box, so I thought it would be settled from that point but nope, she still poops and pees elsewhere. We still ordered a new litter I hope it works! I'd really hate having to restrict my bed since she sleeps with me at night there now..
When we first got a car, we literally just set out a litter box and she started pooping there. The same thing happened with out second cat we got a few months later.

My four year old DLH cat started pooping on the carpet after he had diarrhea. I've confined him to one room again and now he's pooping on the floor of that room. What's next? Clean the litter box at least once a day and change the litter at least once a week. Although it is never going to be on your list of 'My Favorite Things to Do,' removing the waste and changing the litter is often the best way to control odors.

What if you have a new kitten that's 1 month old and hasn't used a litter box. Also, what if she just sits in it and just play around with the litter?
+MadyFab Kittens generally learn how to use a litter box from their mom/other cats. If she is pottying elsewhere, try relocating some of the urine/poop to the litter box to show her that is where it should be. Also, by instinct, cats generally will go to the bathroom in the same area. If she is pottying somewhere else consistently, you may want to consider putting the litter box there. It's also best to have multiple litter boxes. Some cats will elect to make some litter boxes play areas and others bathroom areas. What type of litter and litter box are you using? Kittens usually do better at first with an open litter box (no lid) so it is not intimidating and some cats prefer one type of litter over another. We recommend changing one thing at a time so you can assess what is effective in training this little girl. My friend adopted an outside cat/ a stray, and it just goes in the litter box and rolls around in the litter and plays lol. 😅 It does not do it's business there.

Hi Aniyah. It may be best to keep her confined in a small room (like a bathroom) for the first few days. Kitties are clean by nature, and limiting her options should entice her to use her litter box. What if you only have 1 litter box
i just brought in my almost 3 year old cat, shes been outside her whole life, she isnt feral, but i wanna give her the best life possible hense being inside.... i was able to train a young kitten to use the box but i havent yet figured out how to train the nearly 3 yr old. shes been inside for about 2 days and hasnt gone to the bathroom anywhere?! ive been giving her pets and treats in her own box so she realizes its a good safe place... but she keeps waiting at the door like telling me she wants to go potty outside :/ but she doesnt like it out there. before i brought her in she was always trying to sneak into the house 🤷♀️ so idk... ANY TIPS CUZ THIS VIDEO IS HELPLESS!

I've never had a cat before, but I did look it up. Maybe you could try carrying your cat to the litter box, and dig his paws in a little. Pet him and if that doesn't work, you should go to the vet. Veterinarian.

please for your cats safety go to the vet it could have urinal issue's which could cause death
