Refreshing to see Merlanteans played as a real deck and not full hand rip featuring Trishula and Omega haha
I mean, honestly, it isn't that much different, hand loop for 3 and puts up a couple negates
I love that konami made 2 cards count as both archetypes just to give it even more synergy
It seems Toadally Awesome is going to go down as a top 20 card ever printed in this game
chances are high if we get new support that toad might get a replacement in the deck, as it is banned over in the ocg and on master duel.
As it should. It negates and steals and recycles AND summons things from deck than can mill all in one card
The card is Toadally Awesome. Not needing any materials to omni negate is *chefs kiss*

I'm so, so HAPPY to see new support for Mermail, I has always love this deck
and this support is really really good, especially Shadow Bodyguards who start lots of combos
Poblems of the deck are always the same (Shifter, Droll and Nib), but he have new weapons to be competitive one more time
And what I love the most with this kind of deck, it's you can play it with so many differents way that you want
One day Bahamut Shark will summon something that isn’t Toadally Awesome
It’s actually really good now at cheating out the Mermail R3 which can go into the new Poseidra R7, linking off to make tons of Link/Xyz/Synchro plays

@@MiyaoMeow588 No it's not. Especially with everyone running handtraps. Were sick of hand traps. Glad Water is back so we can loop the handtraps. The handtrap era needs to beover in Yugioh. There needs to be a hard rule to limit them.
@martonyomchale342 hand traps are what stops degenerate combos like hand rip from being nearly as viable
I like this mermaid support
Turn 1, this deck can set up a discard 3 from the opponents hand and put up negates/interruptions. Mouling plus Deep Sea Sentry on opponents turn will make this deck tier 1 at some point, the combo is super slept on.
It's also still kinda fragile

Dweller depends on the meta or the matchup, Double Toad is always good... I miss him in MD.
@@Ragnarok540 I’d say rn dweller is pretty banging. Stops fiendsmith, stops a good number of SE cards, stops yubel. Like only a handful of decks can even play through a board without their gy, much less through 3+ interactions, and strong ones at that.
I’m not disagreeing with you, but it’s one of those times when dweller IS good.
When you are handripping your opponent those omnis go crazy like if you handrip two your opponent has 4 cards and you have two omnis it's really hard to beat that, but without the handrip dweller puts in a lot of work
I think it has huge potential to become a meta deck
But only really with toad legal
Going through 3 hand traps is top tier stuff

In OCG where that cute little frog is banned, i'll try to bring armored engine and kraken instead...

in play testing I realised that neptabyss the royal mermail can cycle abyss-scale - I just had it and abbysglacia on the field, they activated bonfire, it auto negated thanks to the abss-scale, then I used abbyssglacia to pop, since I discarged a card, neptabyss the royal triggered and RE-equipped itself with hte abyss scale and abyss scale isn't once per turn so it can negate ANOTHER spell. Thats pretty excellent
Unless they release a WATER bonefire and a WATER original sinful spoils this deck will suck ass
The duels were "Opponent opened Bystial, Opponent opened Bystial, Evenly." horrible showcase of the decks ability to win, when mermails without the new support wouldve won those duels.

That last game, fiendsmith went +7 through a monster negation, (and technically through any combination of monsters on board assuming not more negations) without even using their draw and ending with an OTK and it technically only required 3 cards in grave to do... Wow....
+7 from graveyard only lmao. That deck needs to go.

The deck will get hit to make way for Sharks and Mermails. If not they will hit it in the next banlist. By that time Water may have a new structure deck. I don't think they'll nerf Water in a banlist, they'll just put out a more broken archetype like they did with dragon rulers to nerf Mermails.

It’s worth noting that if you play abyssocea it gives you a way to access neptabyss with when you draw teus plus any water. Makes a really good board too.
I am so glad you mentioned this, I knew there was something to Abyssocea, but you just helped me put 2 and 2 together.

Sadly, This'll probably be played with xyz armor and Dweller in Master Duel because of toad ban.
At the current pace it probably won't hit MD for like a year. If we're lucky they'll free Toad by then.
I don't know how you count but toad is summon number 6 in the diva combo
working on mixing small ice barrier package with lancea instead on icejade get the genral and swordman out to shut grave and monster effects down + the trish if they out it

Since majority of the cards are all WATER, is Dominus Impulse worth the slot?
I dont think so. Because to use Dominus from hand, your opponent needs to have to control a card, that is kinda hard if he goes second

Superancient Deepsea King Ceolocanth is also a pretty sweet target for Abysshrine to summon out, with Fishborg Harpooner being a good card to summon out alongside Abysspike(s) to go into Dragite or Bahamut Shark. Also unlike Lapis Dragon Harpooner isn't largely a brick when it's in your opening hand (though admittedly Ceolocanth is) with Harpooner being able to trigger many of your effects.

For the fiendsmith game if you had sent goons To add shadow you would have been able to do alot more possible win the game and that because you already had the shrine in hand

I wonder if you wouldn't just run the trap negate abyss mail going first instead?
I feel like Evenly is a lot more devastating than Super Poly and since the negates on the mails are mandatory I feel it's harder to bait out the trap one.
Finding some room in the extra for Dweller would be another thing to try.
You can negate evenly with toadally, the spell negate equip helps because it negate on resolution, so it can get super poly, dark ruler and droplet, which toadally can't respond

@@Lithium2300 by the way, by running the XYZ armor fortress and Armored shark, you can make a second toad in a one card Prince combo.
The end board of one prince becomes: Hand rip for 2. double toad, a synchro 10, virtue stream, heavy infantry in hand, Neptabyss the royal mermail and Mermail Abyssalacia.

Diva will resolve if you use the 4 cards in your hand first lol. I play this deck in master duel,minus the new cards of course. I hit master every season too,you supposed to bait everything you can before you normal summon diva...how do people not know that by now smh

What card searches the water barrier statue?
You can use lv7 synchro (prima donna) to special Water Statue from deck (this is a combo line ft. the other deep sea monster that banishes face-up.

or you can play Tidal dragon ruler to send statue to GY, since we already play Coral Anemone to summon from GY
Decks looks good but i think it has little space for non engine, only 9 isnt going to win games consistently
Mermail never had space for non engine. It's a heavy combo deck and it plans to win on the turn through building a board or megalo otk
