From the thumbnail - it looks like they are cashing in on HBO success and trying to add unrealistic gore to their production. There is a very good documentary here, on TH-cam, by the head of radiation safety in medicine for the US and herself, who was a receiving doctor on the day this happened. She discounts many theatrical displays of radition sickness and explains what happens and in what sequence. Well worth watching if you want something more real rather than theatre. HBO did a superb job weaving fact into a story and created one character to represent a multitude of scientists, whose voices simply could not articulated into a mini series. HBO, I think, will be the Gold standard by which every other fictionalised story will be compared in future.

"Oh hi, Mikhail! Hi Doggie! I did not hit her, I did not hit her, it's boolshit, I did Nyyyettt!"
ROFLMJAO!!!😂😂😂😂
The series encapusalted all that needed to be said, why make a movie? i have a feeling it will be shit compared to the HBO series
money grab, and the voice over acting for american audiences is so shit too
I saw it yesterday and I can confirm the movie was shit. If you suffer constipation this is the right movie to watch to go to the toilette.
this movie was made by russians, they kind of wanted to do it their way, as the accident happened in the former soviet union that is now russia, not to mention that this is a real fact, not a fictional story made for entertainment, but ok.
@@uniaorussia350 But they failed the only movie the russians made a anti war movie come and see from 1985 is stil the most haunting anti war and war movie ever made u should wach it in my opinion its a masterpice like hbo series !
@@uniaorussia350 *the accident happened in the former Soviet Union that is now Ukraine.
Instead of other serie of chernobyl, they should made a serie about hisashi ouchi.
This man no need presentation.
Exec: “yeah, HBO did a really great show about this. Let’s take their script and do it as a movie.”
"Not great, not terrible" Dyatlov, Anatoly
I'll give it a 3.6
I better watch the HBO series again and again instead of watching this movie
you are so damn right. this movie is bullshit
I’ll watch it and probably still enjoy it just as much as the HBO series. I look at it from another’s perspective.
Don't. It's bullsgit. Russia state funded reaction to the HBO
When movie finally make a drama story about the 3 heroes
Me : Yes yes yes
Show them swimming
Also me : No no no
I am not sure if it would be so bright at 1:25 AM..
No way this lives up to the mini series.
1:52, you're welcome.
HBO better than Netflix
Chernobyl is so famous that they made a mini series and a movie just looking at it gives me goosebumps and makes my hair stand on my arm
Infamous more like!
Isnt there a tv show just like this?
just like this is wrong, it had right potrayal of event this is just some hollywood drama
I find it quite ironic that Russian media slate the HBO series for not showing the heroism of the characters involved and that it focuses too much on the lies and cover-ups of officials. Whilst the Russian accounts of the story makes up characters and leaves out the names of the true heroes who've fought to contain this tragedy. It's absolutely despicable.
0:32 car glass not broken
It is, it's just hard to see in the lighting
I was 13 when this happened & remember how frightened we all were.
I was 11, living in Sweden.
I watched both the HBO series and the movie.
My advise is that if you’re just want to watch a movie go watch this, but if you want the closest thing to the real Chernobyl go watch the HBO series 10/10
If you want to watch a real Chernobyl go watch a documentary films and interviews of witnesses. Thats a truly breathtaking thing. And 2019 Chernobyl is a good artistic movie, but actually lies a lot about story. And of course it is a product of anti-soviet propaganda, and yes, in 2019🤷
This movie doesn’t look great, but it doesn’t look terrible…
Honestly, I'll take a 5 hour series about these events over a single 2-2.5 hour movie any day
Where can I watch this
They Hollywooded the whole thing..... Again.....
Watch the mini series, way better than this
HBO Chernobyl was a MASTERPIECE in any imaginable way , (Actors,Screeenplay,Directing,Photographi,Perspective inovations)-TOP ,this is bs,but hey,the russians hade to have their own version (yes, this is ruski film, and they speak in russian in the movie, this is sinhronized) , btw i wached it-"not great-not terrible" ;) PULL THE STRINGS,PULL THE STRINGS!
I'd rather re-watch the series than this hapazard rushed and unsatisfactory crap!
Oh man! Twitter is getting a movie!
this movie is literary not great not terrible
I was stationed in Germany when Chernobyl blew. We had to deal with the radioactive fallout that was descending on Germany and our area where I was stationed.
What a savage Lada he had
Just makes me wanna watch the HBO series again and not see the movie
Ah, Prince Oleg.
When only thinking that the story is reality it gives me goosebumps it self 💔💔💔 it makes me really sad and heart broken for what these innocent people went through
When a studio green lights it's own financial meltdown.
is that black guy the one who played in Vikings? the king, i forgot the name 😁
0:36 Chernobyl melted down at roughly 1:23 in the morning while it looks like they are approaching the plant at roughly 6:00 in the morning
Ok even without the Chernobyl miniseries. This looks kinda bad.
this actually looks good and promising.
FYI, this move sucks. Has nothing to do with Chernobyl disaster, mark my words.
this is the pro URSS series, probably denying what was told on hbo's version.
Why do the film makers feel they need to dub this film with American voice actors? Are they afraid Americans won't watch it? Well, screw America, they're unimportant and self destructing anyway, give me the Russian voice actors and subtitles. Cheers
There is a version in Russian u mook
This dubbed is trash
That's me! I was there. This movie is about me!
What who you're kidding right 🙀
From the thumbnail - it looks like they are cashing in on HBO success and trying to add unrealistic gore to their production.
HBO, I think, will be the Gold standard by which every other fictionalised story will be compared in future.
hbo mini series will forever be up top, i doubt anything can match it
Is this movie, about a young Joe Biden? As within the first few seconds, we have a guy sniffing hair!
CHERNOBYL HOLYWOOD
so this is basically a supercut of the HBO series, that'll air in cinemas
guess im ok with it, but I hope there will be a non-dub version available somewhere, as those English dubs are horrendous
It isn't. The story told from the 3 men squad perspective rather than being a political drama like HBO.
@@cianakril meh that’s why a supercut, it cuts out all the political parts and only focuses on the power plant
Where can i watch this?
Based on a true HBO production
Cringe
@@lemitakle9884 K
this feels 'americanized'...long live the HBO miniseries, peak documentary drama/cinema
Just by watching the trailer I can tell you this is a disgrace to the victims of the incident atleast the HBO series was pretty accurate this here is terrible its not even slightly true to what happened and it almost nay does fictionalize the disaster
Do more research on HBO’s series because it was not accurate and Lyudima Ignatenko never gave permission to HBO for her story to be told
@@MatthewHackett yes that's correct hence why I said "pretty accurate*
You want Chernoby? We got Chernobyl at home!
I watched it and yes, the HBO series was really good, but this is from the account of the firefighters. I enjoyed it.
After the HBO mini-series the only reason a producer would re-make the same thing is probably that they were too poor to buy a license to air the HBO production... I have no idea what other justification could one possibly have to make the same thing few years after a masterpiece and with far lesser quality.
Some of the most heroic people ever.
Mostly some of the most ...fooled.
@@StarskiPL ?
@@IGoBrrrt173 most of this heroic people didn't know what they are dealing with.
@@StarskiPL Yeah.
I can’t believe it it’s the 26TH of April when Chernobyl blew up………..can’t believe it…
