- It's the end of January, which marks one month that I haven't done daily vlogs. I'll tell you the changes I've noticed in myself, and also fill you in on some other things that happened this month, too!

This new format is definitely easier to follow for me - I felt bad about intermittently stopping following the vlog in the past, but the daily vlogs were very easy to lose track of, whereas this is super easy to keep up with. I think the dry end-of-month summary thing might not be the direction to take it, but uploading whenever you really have something worth sharing sounds wonderful. I loved the videos you uploaded last month.
Yeah, I definitely feel the same way, it's MUCH easier to keep up with that's for sure.

You definitely even seem happier in this video, I definitely like the little vloglets that we get here and there (like the snow videos), and an update like this every once in awhile would be awesome too. Keep doing what makes you happy man!

Ah, that "let's meet back soon, shall we" will never get old; it gives me so much optimism
So here's a weird one. I'm so busy these days that the current format actually makes it easier for me to follow how things are going, since I struggle to make time to watch every video.
This video feels like meeting up with a friend for coffee and catching up on all the goings on in our lives since the last time we met. It's a comfy feeling. I'm glad this format has been working well for you, Stephen! :D
Honestly, I like hearing about what's going on during Breakfast Stream. It's like visiting the grandparents to find out what they've been up to. As for the vlogs themselves, maybe it was burnout, which to go over a decade doing vlogs is insane to just now hit burnout, unless you were just progressing on burnout, somehow. Which man, being a content creator myself, that is insane when I really think about it now.
Who knows where the vlog will go. We're here for it though!
“I am allowed to record things when I want.” HECK YEAH!!! YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT! Glad to see that things are getting better for you! In terms of ideas, it would be neat to see how you make a meal start-to-finish since you mentioned that earlier. It’ll be another nice look into how life has changed for you since you stopped recording on the daily. Plus, you could even get creative with it and make it into a bumper if you want!
Oddly enough, January has been a transformative month for me as well. I got back into school (and I think I’m doing pretty well so far!) and I got diagnosed for level 1 autism (very high-functioning), and both of those things have impacted my mental health in VERY good ways that I never would’ve imagined. Answers were found, progress is being made, and I’m learning more and more about myself. There’s still some things to work out, but I’ve gotta keep riding this wave I’m on or else I’ll lose it again, and I don’t want that! 😅 We’ll figure things out as we go along. Just gotta keep on trucking. 😊
Honestly, the new format seems to have been a positive in every way. Not only do you look like a huge weight has been lifted off your shoulders (because it has), but vlog quality just seems to be better overall because we're only getting The Good Stuff™ and not the boring days in-between (even though I still loved those as well). I'm happy you finally made this decision for yourself.
Also, since you mentioned Beetlejuice: I also think Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was a good sequel, but "Beetlejuice the Musical" has been my absolute brainrot for the last 3+ years and will NEVER leave my brain. Every joke and every song (particularly "Dead Mom", "Say My Name", and "What I Know Now") lives in my brain rent-free. I need help and I refuse to get it.

I love the idea of monthly recap vlogs like this! I'm glad the first month went over well. Very excited to see the art show video you have planned as well, that's very cool!
I was initially heartbroken by the end of the daily vlogs (change can be scary, what can I say) but hearing how good you have been doing mentally has pretty much eased all my concerns. The small updates have really made me happy, and i like the format of filming a few special occasions as vlogs and then a recap at the end of the month. I hope you continue to feel better :)
I'm sure that relief you feel will expand twofold whenever you guys get through the japan vlogs from last march (no rush, of course!), but no leftover vlogs, and no need to make vlogs? That sounds like a way to allow both channesl to contain content that flows in a much more creative and natural way, love from France!

As a grown adult who has not had much time to watch as much TH-cam compared to when I was younger, I am glad there is not a daily vlog to be honest. It allows Stephen to devote time to more talk about important topics than trying to make filler content each day! It makes the vlog more enjoyable as a viewer and I cannot imagine how stress free it has been for Stephen!
I totally get not knowing how bad something is until it's gone - that sense of relief is confirmation that maybe things weren't that great, which is what happened to me when I left my prior job. I'm so glad to hear you're doing well - those days of nothing can be little blessings, even if just to mentally reset or plan the next thing. The vlogs are little treats now! Here's to the rest of 2025!
Its great that the "silly little project" feels more like a "silly little project" now instead of mentally draining project. Happy for you Stephen! Little update vlogs like this are totally cool, make sure you keep it when you want it and don't feel obligated to make them. Its more fun this way, especially when we get things like the theatre kid/GTA player venn diagram vlog.

You know its interesting, even though the vlogs aren't daily anymore and obviously there are far less of them, it, at least so far in this new "era", doesn't really feel as a viewer that much different. Obviously there will be times where you'll upload even less than you did this month but as of now, it still feels like we see vlogs kinda semi-regularly and it still feels like enough. So that, along with you feeling much more free and happier means this change was definitely for the better.

I am very happy that making vlogs when you want rather than making them daily has made you be more happier and relaxed. I do miss the daily format but your overall mental health is so much more important. I’m glad that you are still making content and now I know it’s because you want to instead of feeling obligated to do it.

I haven't been a daily vlog watcher in about 10 years. I've watched a lot of them periodically but have been too busy to see every video. I like this new format, release them whenever you're comfortable stephen.

Awe man, what a wholesome video to watch. I don’t have to feel bad about watching it “out of order” for anything else. January just wrapped up and you’re right: it was nice to dedicate 14 minutes to find out how your January went. I’m glad to hear your thoughts so far, and i’m still tearing up a little at “let’s meet back soon” in the best way.
I thought you should hear this considering you are feeling better now after not doing it religiously. I am happy and content with how you are doing the Vlogs now especially after seeing how you are doing a month later. I am glad to hear you are feeling better about it overall now and hope it continues to stay that way and you find more opportunities without the need to feel like you have to record it but want to. I know the feeling, I'm having quite the parallel with you right now. I recently had to pick up a corporate job not in my field that prevents me from creating my game and I decided to put away my game development for a moment while I start my adult life at 26. The feeling has been freeing and there was a moment where I was doing laundry one morning and I realized I wasn't thinking about the next thing I have to do for the game. I have been like this since I was a junior in high school and I finally had to put the ideas away for a bit and the space that has been freed up in my brain is amazing to experience. I miss it dearly and it has only been 2-3 weeks but I needed to put it away as it was destroying my health. I thought I wouldn't continue to be inspired by things for game ideas but that part of my will never die so I'm just having fun thinking about new things rather than this one project. Just wanted to share that as I am experiencing the same thing roughly.

I know that feeling post giving up to burn out I wish my creative voice was louder because it takes me months to get back to back to what I used to love doing
I was never bothered by the daily format nor the less eventful/"white undershirt" vlogs (isn't _that_ a blast from the past) because I never struggled to stay up to date. I was initially saddened by the news of the daily vlogs no longer being daily - but seeing these past few videos since the change came into effect really changed my mind. I was a fan of the daily format, but I'm a big fan of this new format, too. Especially since I can already see how much it has reinvigorated you in just a month. Change can be scary, but it doesn't necessarily have to be bad. ❤️
Maybe for an idea you can vlog some things throughout the month and make an edit of them all together for a monthly vlog might make videos longs and be longer to edit but it won't be a daily thing to worry about. Whatever is the least stressful to you!
