- Update - my drum's rim broke for the second time and I have not been able to get Xymox to send me a new one despite 10 + emails over 4 months. Completely worthless company that I'd never buy anything from again. Do not give them your money.

They definitely found out this dude is a TH-camr for sure. Their customer service has been absolutely awful and I highly doubt it magically got better during a lockdown.
I'm hoping it gets better for everyone. Like I said she called me out of the blue not knowing anything about and truly seemed interested in making things right

Niles Abel Friend of mine has been waiting a year...... Turns out the lady they had answering emails and such just decided to stop answering emails. Finally just a few days ago the company got back to him stating that she is no longer there and the “interruptions” should be taken care of. Looking forward to ordering one myself but will wait and see how his order is taken care of.
@@inverted311 yes, they told me that same story about the employee that was apparently sucking at it and they didn't realize it. So hopefully things will improve now that she is gone
Bought my Xymox tenor pad back in 2015. Xymox was exactly the same back then. They've been this way for years, and anyone who actually believes that they're willingly going to change without major consequences motivating them (like class-action lawsuit) is living under a rock. "Different company" my gonads.

SnareMan I’ve been having a horrible experience with xymox, (lying to me multiple times), so I decided to cancel my order, and after 3-10 weeks you can. So I’ve sent an email every day for 11 days now, and no response. I just need my money back as soon as I can. Any way I can get their attention? Because they definitely found out about you’re channel, as my experience has sucked. Thanks for the great content you put out.

Yeah I find it awfully convenient that the only pad they seem to have shipped was yours despite not knowing you had a YT channel. (Especially given your previous videos about their pads) It’s pretty clear that they knew who you were and tried to make it seem like the way they handled your order was how they handled everyone else’s.

They told me mine will be shipping in July, and I ordered mine on May 8th, 2019. Consistent false promises on shipping dates and the current status of the drum. I think they found out you do TH-cam and sent you the drum, as I haven't seen a single other person receive theirs.
They tell me (I hope it's true?) That they have drums shipping every day. I guess we'll see if they start showing up for people.

This looks like a Xymox version of something that Cold Steel drummers have been using for years
My own xymox story. I bought their Ralph Hardimon pad way way back in 2006/07. It was a nice product that honestly lasted me until 2022 when the laminate began to deteriorate.
I purchased a reserve ultra and actually got it in a reasonable time. It’s a great pad but even being indoors and not abused the screws that held there snare model in place tore right though the wood. I had beads slipping out and trying to prevent my son from eating any.
I really liked the pad but the construction is shit. Not to mention I went to point this out to xymox and got nothing back from them. Got one of their quad pads too. Again. It actually came. No issues with it but apparently their tenor pads no longer come with cut out grooves for stand mount.
I bought a regular reserve pad from them before this product was even advertised and it still hasn’t arrived.
Post about their terrible customer service on social media and tag them and they will try and get in touch with you

You know, I clicked the purchase button on mine, but they had problems on their end (called my bank) sent an email she said to go ahead and order again.. knowing the customer history and all? Scared me off. Looks and sounds like I thought it would in a review, thanks for the upload on it, seems everyone is thankful for that!!

Glad you got one, although they still deserve to go out of business. Mine is broken (again) and I've sent 17 emails without a response.

@@zayguxpo007 idk if this comment was meant to be a joke, but if not then there are problems with your comment from multiple angles. 1 month is not a long wait whatsoever (even if we weren’t talking about the company with the worst customer service on Earth). A few years ago, Xymox was known to take at least 4-12 months to send out a pad. THAT’S why people make so many videos and comments about their horrendous wait times; not because they had to wait through a quarter of a winter😂 And despite how terrible they are at running their business, Xymox has absolutely nothing to do with the time of day that your package arrives, so idk why you threw that part in there. It’s not like they bribed a fedex or usps employee to work overnight to deliver your package lmao. Just to be clear, I’m not trying to be rude to you or defend Xymox at all; I’m just saying that it sounds like you had the best experience out of any customer they’ve ever had

I had grown so frustrated with the fact that I never had a drum in my hand for almost a year, so much that I went ahead and bought a Yamaha SFZ snare which also took so long to come in, I ordered it in March and was notified that it was on back order and I was lied to at least 5 times by musicians friend and Yamaha themselves about when I was getting it, they kept changing their dates a bunch and I was shocked as to why this was happening to me with yet another music company especially with a huge one. They took so damn long to the point that I can’t even afford it anymore as I’m a college student getting ready to get my own place next month, so I cancelled the snare and asked for a refund. Keep in mind it never came in so I waited since March for practically nothing at all. It really seems like life doesn’t want me having my very own marching snare for whatever reason which is strange yet just ironic.
It's just bad customer service. Apparently they have zero competition.
I do hope the more bad stories there are to these kind of companies the more people will choose and prioritize the companies who actually can deliver.
People should ask for a refund after the first initial month have past. I don't care how hard it is to produce - it's not like they're building a car or a violin to a billion dollars.
If refund isn't an option I would even dare to even think about their products... scammers.
Go for reliability.
Buy Offworld Percussion or some other company who has a good customer history.

& I’ve had an offworld invader since 2012. I actually have a review on my channel that has quite an amount of views. I thought it was amazing at first but now I absolutely hate it and think it’s a joke compared to laminate surface pads with snare simulation. For being almost 10 years ago you could say they were advanced for their time. Better than some shitty real feel or whatever cheap pad was out

I have a standard practice pad that I got from a bell kit and I am looking for a upgrade. This helped.

Great review! and great looking hands. And a really interesting customer service experience. If they actually let you keep both drums, I'd recommend selling one. The resale market for a working xymox product with actual shipping is pretty huge.
I believe that. Honestly, that was half the reason I ended up ordering it a year ago because I totally didn't need the drum. Figured if I didn't want it I could sell it for a profit. Now that I have it though I really like it.

@@SnareMan Honestly, I would really love the drum. I am starting to feel like I will never get it. I honestly want to show up at the new location and see what's up. It has been almost three years and I have never gotten as much as a non-automated email reply. As well, my email I made an account with is apparently no longer an account with them.

Seems as though nothing has changed with xyomox. 11 years ago I ordered just a basic pad from them and to be honest I think that was the only pad they sold aside from the tenor pad. But it took almost 6 months for it to arrive. I never received emails or phone calls back about my order or why it was taking so long. When it arrived it look poorly put together. The laminate surface looked like it was cut out with a pair of 100 year old scissors, it wasn’t centered on the rubber and the rubber wasn’t centered on the wood. I tried calling and emailing to express how disappointed I was with the craftsmanship and the fact that it took so long and never got any replies. I took to TH-cam and wrote negative comments on their videos. I then got a VERY angry phone call from the owner one Saturday afternoon asking why I was bashing his company. He apologized over an email a few days later offering to send me out a free pad. Lol it seems like the company is still ran by only a few people and no vision of growing.

Also whatever you do don't tighten this thing like a normal snare it definitely cannot handle even close to the tension. I put moderate tension on mine and the bottom rim snapped. Its plastic so I had a feeling it was going to happen. That said you can get a moderately good tone from going at a mid tension. Other than that the product is cool. I'm hoping mine was just defective.

Citrusenze dude I did and even offered to work free to help get these hybrids out and I wanted to drop off a few pairs of my signiture vic Firth sticks to them directly but nobody answere I can’t wait more importantly I believe to a young kid the amount of wait time could mess with there desire to practice because you know when your a kid and you see something cool you want it in your hands ASAP before that fire might just burn out and they loose interest in drumming and pick up a shinny saxophone,, not that there’s anything wrong with learning to play a saxophone but it’s a crucial time frame that gets used up waiting for it and it never comes , 2019 worlds fastest drummer pasic

Hey, i ordered my XYMOX pad September 2019 and still haven’t received mine so I’m still skeptical but hopefully it’s better. Now that I have emailed recently maybe my order will finally be finished but I emailed back in February as well and they said it be done in March.
They seem to be out of commission again with COVID

SnareMan yea I mean for the marching snare drummer who don’t always want to carry their 14-6 snare drum around they could buy that instead and it’s a whole lot lighter than the full snare

I think their problem was that they were trying to mass produce a single selection drum pad yet they also had the custom drum pad which started overloading them in away because I know I ordered a simple black pub with the brass nuts on it and it took them two years
Yea, they should have just made it in one color configuration until they knew they could handle production issues. I'm about to throw this now piece of crap drum out as I can't get them to respond after 14 emails about my again cracked rim.

I think they just decided to crap on all previous customers, steal their money, take more money from new customers and perhaps ship them some product if they're lucky. No reason someone ordering one now should get there drum or pad sooner than someone that ordered theirs 2 years ago

hi i just noticed something what are the two knobs on the snares the black knobs are they used to tight the snares or you don't touch them because i have to be really careful with it because i have a marching snare drum its the pearl competitor and its been giving me tons of problems so i just wanted to know what the black snare knob thingys are and the plastic thing makes the snare touch the head without making them tight and do you tune the snares or raise them im just curious because when i get mine i would like to know more without breaking it and can the head be super tight like a normal marching snare sorry to bother you again

Can you do a review on the RCP snare drum pad? It looks very similar to the xymox and they say that it usually takes 4 days to receive the pad so I would love to hear about how they compare. I've been seeing a lot of people saying that it takes forever to receive the pad from xymox so that's worrying

They actually found out that their employee by the name of christi who was responsible for handling all emails and responses was infact ignoring us all and was purposely not responding to emails cause she was annoyed by all of us angry customers, potentially even went as far as deleting them!
The owner Kevin told me this 2 weeks ago and he fired her once she was caught, which I’m super glad about. What a stupid b****.

i personally havent had great experience with xymox. ordered a quad pad on january 30 of 2020. and still have not recieved it. the order is still in progres. I emailed them recently and they havent even began producing the pad I ordered

I ordered this drum pad on Day 1 of them going on sale back in Early May 2019. I still haven't gotten it and they're still beating around the bush.
They're saying now that they are back closed because of covid
My wife ordered me this drum in February 2020 and it's now august 2020. Only 2 exchanges via email and still no answer where it is so when it's supposed to arrive.

the whole time i'm watching this i'm thinking, "dude just get a piccolo snare and put some foam inside it." save yourself the aggravation. that snare mechanism has design flaws if it broke on two separate drums. companies always want to reinvent the wheel.

@@maydaymika They are good when they work. Both of mine broke. The rims cracked several times on each and I can't get them to even reply to an email to send me a replacement rim. I've sent 13 emails over several months. They is not a more worthless company on the planet. And I really don't think the drums are designed to be able to hold marching snare tensions as they say they are.

Can you tell me what a proper drum key would be for tuning the hybrid snare? Or if there are any that won’t fit the lugs on it? I was thinking they came with a drum key but mine did not.
I just used a regular key on mine. They are just regular lugs

I got so fed up waiting for mine I ordered back in August 2019 that I bought a Yamaha SFZ in March and I said fuck it it’s worth the money I’m not waiting any longer it’s almost been a year. Just to have them play games with me too believe it or not. They told me once I ordered it that it was on back order and kept lying to me about promised ship dates at least 5 times. From March to about 3 weeks ago I never got it still. I can’t afford it anymore sadly so I had them cancel it. So not only they wasted a few months of my time like xymox did for almost a year, but I ended up empty handed once again. No snare, hopes and dreams crushed over and over. At this point it seems to good to be true to own my very own marching snare whether that be from Yamaha xymox or the whatever the hell. I’m honestly really upset over all of my experience through this because it’s been a dream on mine to own one for about 9 years now. That dream has to keep waiting sadly. RIP.
Though I just got notified from xymox that my hybrid is finally getting made right now and they’re gonna update me on an exact shipping day very soon so let’s hope I actually get a damn drum in my hands finally.
