IMO the prologix green should be ranked above evans rf. It feels way better than the evans rf. At first I thought that green logix was an ordinary feeling pad because that's what they say in their website. But man when I played on it during the drumline workshop event here in the Philippines. I was surprised. It feels fantastic, and quiet❤
Update on Xymox, they got their shit together this year and I got mine in around 2 months. And my friend got his tenor pad in around 3 months. They still don't ship within the listed time but it is much better than they have been.
I bought a Xymox tenor pad in August of 2018 (the end of my freshman year of high school) already knowing that the company had a notoriety of long shipping times and poor customer service, but I took the risk anyways. When I told my dad like 3 weeks in that nothing shipped he told me to keep emailing them to which I did. I sounded more frustrated with every email I sent; luckily I got a response to every email. The pad arrived in January of 2019, so I only had to wait about 6.5 months for the pad to arrive. I know for sure I wouldn't have gotten the pad if I didn't keep nagging and I'm lucky it only took that long knowing other people's stories with the company. It feels like I bought it at the end of a point where they actually shipped pads. I've seen more videos talking about Xymox in the past two years than I had for the 4 years prior when I started getting into marching percussion which was around 2016. It also felt like there was a lot more complaints about not receiving any pads where most of the things I saw were people's orders arriving after a year+. Either the company somehow got worse or more marching percussion content creators had surfaced on the platform warning viewers not to buy from them. I personally think the latter, but it could be a mix of both because I remember hearing somewhere that the company went under or something so the chances of getting a pad now is quite literally 0% up from the solid like 17% chance before the company supposedly went under.
I've had an Invader v3 for awhile. I actually think it is the best pad I've ever owned and really wish they existed when I was in high school. However, the older I get the more I stray away from high tension. I find myself placing rags on the pad to lower the volume and tension quite often. I prefer that feel much more and am probably going to look into the quieter rubbery pads such as the Vater or Vic Firth Stock Pad.
I just own a HUN-U 12 "U-12" marching snare pad few months ago and it sounds amazing. I used that a lot it's basically a Japanese version of RCP idk if they still exist. I ordered off from Amazon I don't have no issues about it (not really) but other than that it's awesome. I'm still thinking wanna get a RCP marching snare pad for a backup I'll see how's my money going. 💜👍👍👍
Drumslinger. Bill Olsen provides great customer service and stands behind his products. I own two- the 13 inch Corps Pad and the 12 inch Marcher Pad. Both were delivered in only three weeks. The pads are a work of art.

Have you tried the Brash drums pad and if so what are your thoughts? Also I can agree with the new realfeel. It feels pretty good but damn the pad hands are insane.
I absolutely love my Prologix vortex tenor pad, it was great for preparing for past auditions best pad I've ever owned. It's also great for writing to make sure everything feels right. I want to try the tenor Ram Pad but if I'm gonna shell out that kind of cash I might as well have just played on my drums.
Hanflag green labels for a lot of companies. I own a Hanflag pad but got a RCP laminate, it has a ton of rebound but feels more realistic with a laminate. I would only recommend a Hanflag(Hun) for private use, as it is loud & resembles a real snare too much to practice & warm up
my first pad was the hq real feel oh my God is it still one of the best ive ever had. started drumming in 2004 and the only other pads that have come close is the offworld invader v3 and the original vic firth slimpad. im hoping the new slim pad is back to the og but hail to the king hq real feel
Essentially when you play on a pad, you get used to how it feels, such as the rebound, the stickiness, the stick vibrations, etc. When you then play on a drum, you are not used to the way a drum feels and cannot play as well or you do not feel as comfortable. The best way to avoid it is by playing on a drum as much as possible and finding a pad that feels as close to a drum as possible.
The black innovative pad is the same exact pad as the offworld outlander, innovative percussion pays offworld for rights to the pad so they can slap their logo on in, if you have both side by side you can see the have the same serial number
Hot take, xymox isn’t terrible, atleast from my experience lol. My first xymox pad was second hand so I got it immediately so that wasn’t bad. I then ordered a tenor pad believing that I wouldn’t get it for a while but it actually showed up in about 2 weeks. I thought it may be a fluke and ordered a hybrid snare and sure enough about 3 weeks later it arrived. Most recently the reserve snare pads were 50% off so I ordered one for my dad (who is also a drummer) for Christmas, and it got here in just over a week. I’ve had a good experience with them but I know a lot of people haven’t.
Must be one of the lucky ones. I still haven’t received my hybrid snare, nor has really anyone else. Most of the Xymox pads I have seen or used are falling apart from normal usage.

A little late to the video but I've emailed xymox over 20 times over multiple email accounts just to get bot replies after my first email actually was responded to but I ended up getting ghosted. Still haven't got the pad almost 3 years later, and I never will. Sucks cause their pads I have played on have been nice. Invader v3 all the way
Owned a bus pad in the past. I wasn't a huge fan, the rubber was soft and didn't provide a good amount of rebound, and the pad liked to fall off my lap.

Ely, I know drum slinger has done poorly in the past. I have talked with the owner bill Olson he had medical problems which stopped him from making orders but now he's back in business and has fulfilled every order since.
I've actually never had issues with xymox. I know everyone does. Ive bought 2 quad pads, a tenor kick, a hybrid snare, and a table pad from them. My original 2 quad pads took about 8 months, but i knew that going into it. Everything else i received within 1 month of purchase
I've never used it so I can't speak for it, however I'd imagine the shuttle feels closer to a Outlander since the underlying surface is thinner than an Invader.
Hey man i dont know if youve saw them but rudimetal drummers make great pads if you can get pne i would the take a few weeks to ship BUT they have great customer service and the pads feel amazing there a s plus in my opion

A few pads here and there doesn’t make up for the thousands of orders that were never shipped.

I cut the black rubber side off my vic firth double sided pad.wasnt easy but it helped the feel and tone of it alot

Same, I have first Gen from them and one of my friends has a second Gen drum pad from them. Those are really good

DrumSlinger creates custom pads by order. You might have a similar pad from a different brand.

I wouldn’t say they’re good quality. They feel fine, but they have a history of wearing quickly, especially the rims.
