    Wow. So many levels where it shouldn’t be called a robbery. It’s more like a heist!

    @DwarlWarberry 3 ปีที่แล้ว +83

    Robbery or not, this shit is the thing that's great about fighting games. You've made a compelling 15 minute video about conditioning, pattern recognition, situational awareness and callouts. The gameplay was about 9 seconds long.

    "he knew that I knew that he knew, but he didn't know that I knew that he knew that I know"
    ... and to be 100% correct, securing the monster comeback ... all in 2-3 seconds.
    You were right initially. This fits the definition of GENIUS.

  • @Kybhoh
    @Kybhoh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +110

    Impressive how a sequence with so much reflexion just makes some people think "Thanks comeback mechanic"
    As always, god tier editing and interesting content. I started the game a lot of months ago and it still amazes me how street fighter and fighting games in general are so complex in the Rock-Paper-Scissors situations, frame data and mindgames.

    This is like the moment in the murder mystery shows where all the evidence comes together, they find who did it, and now they're piecing together the timeline of events and how they know they're right.

    I typically play like a monkey with an arcade stick so seeing a detailed breakdown a sequence like this is really interesting. Seeing you talk about where on the screen you're looking at at certain points, a trade combo OS, or about the frame data on different rekka hits is just very cool, since I never think too hard about what to do in a match. Love the content, always nice to see breakdowns like this.

    Really good video Brian! Idk how well these type of breakdown videos do numbers wise but I love hearing the thought process behind high level play. I think it could really help new players/people who don’t play fighting games understand that there is intentionality behind almost everything at the highest level

      Actually as a person who's on the other side (Kolin main), what are some reasons you don't like Kolin? I'm kinda curious.
      Because she seems to be a really honest character from what I can tell, she has huge buttons and I appreciate that, but I don't think she has anything that's outright "cheap" or "abusable" other than playing whiff punish and shimmy games.
      I get blown up very often by people spamming ex headbutt/tackle/dp/upper and a lot of random shit on ranked

    All ego jokes aside, this video is some of your best work in my opinion. You really did a fantastic job of explaining everything to where it makes perfect sense to me(experienced with fighters) but I feel like I could also show this to someone who doesn't know that much about them. The way you explained all this gets all the information necessary for someone less experienced while still being perfectly watchable by someone who already knows a lot of the info. Well done, Brian.

    Haven't watched rest of the video, but opening sequence - not a robbery. It looked like Nephew took a risk to try to finish you off by going for a reset and you recognized that his turn was over and immediately capitalized on the opportunities you were given and Neph just wasn't able to defend himself properly against your offensive onslaught.

    My definition of robbery is more of the G kind.... were you literally have to guess between command grab or a button in a wakeup situation and if you guess incorrectly twice you're just dead. This sequence by rog required some smart play and for the opponent to guess wrong/make a mistake 4 times was it? The number of interactions and how deep they are matters, just guessing between a throw or a button on wakeup is extremely simple if that makes sense.
