I would not be surprised if Honda/Acura retired their J-Series V6 in the near future. I mean, to be honest? I love the J-Series 6 cylinder but their 2.0T engine in the Civic Type-R and RDX is an absolute beast. I'm sure Honda will eventually make a 2.4 or 2.5L version of that engine making much more power.
@@Reu_ag I kinda hope not. Some people have real range anxiety with EVs. If Honda can come out with an EV that does at least 500 miles to a charge then yeah, no more range anxiety for most people.

Unfortunately the V6 was omitted only because of emissions regulations. I'm afraid that beautiful 2GR engine will be retired along most of the Toyota/Lexus line except for those vehicles which use the twin turbo V6 as the only option.
@TheMrDudiness We agree with the comment. So Plug-in Hybrids are a jack of all trades, but master of none. But having said that, plug in, and hybrids have more range per gallon than regular ICE cars. We recently took our Honda Clarity Plug-In on a 455 mile trip and we used 9.7 gallons for the whole trip. So that comes about to about 46.90 MPG! Yes plug in hybrids get less mileage at highway speeds, but that's because plug-in hybrids are able to go from 13 to 50 miles (depending on model and battery size) on electric only. Where a hybrid might get 1 or a few miles on EV mode only. Plug in cars have battery packs that on average are 4 to 5 times bigger than hybrid only battery packs. We have needed 0 maintenance on out plug-in EV drive. Only the gas engine has needed the seldom oil change. So in other words if you want the best mileage period, hybrid is the way to go. But if you want to be able to drive for extended distances in ev only plug in is the way to go. But both will get better mileage per gallon than a comparable ICE vehicle. Also, when you've depleted the range of a plug in, it does not mean the whole battery pack is at 0% it always leaves around 10% in the pack so the car can behave like a regular hybrid. My MPG on the Clarity estimate says 199 Mpg. But that's because I rarely turn on the gas engine and I charge every time. So the car counts the EV mileage with the gas that hasn't be used and makes a mpg prediction. Not a good way to predict mpg in our opinion. But as always your mileage may vary according to your specific scenario.

Generally, folks dislike change; this turbo 4 will be gutsier around town and if Alex's video is any indication, perhaps only a bit less refined at true full throttle. I'm personally interested to see the actual accel times and MPGs. Lexus often estimates very conservatively.
Why did you skip the trunk?
Because they already take it in the back end 🤣
Repairing that front fascia would be a nightmare. Such a stupid, impractical unnecessarily complicated design
Can manufacturers in general, and Toyota/Lexus in particular, have lost the plot on front-end styling. Aside from the ridiculous grille, whatever happened to a serviceable bumper? Besides, it's really time to ditch turbo models in favor of hybrid and especially plugin hybrid.
Longer hood means less room inside. Not a good idea.
The subtlety of being attacked by a Killer Whale certainly *"sporty"* let alone sleek let alone sheik none of that here is understating this catastrophe. At least I get some real sheet metal with the BMW!
Acura and Lincoln and of course Cadillac a huge winner from all of this crazy "let's build a hammer and call that proper Das Auto design."
Family has 2 RX in one garage , 1 RX in another garage , and an hs250 h in another garage . Lost a RX to a flood , lost another to a sever walk but we walked away . But , no Lexus ! We will not buy a 4 banger at the same price as a 6 cylinder , and no we will not pay 80 K for a RX with a 4 banger and 2 electric motors . I use to belong to a 4 wheel drive club and I know you can’t use a hybrid in a bad snow and you can not off road to go camping or on gravel road and forget pulling a trailer up hill . This is the worst move I have ever seen Lexus make . Lexus was putting 4 bangers in their hs250h and it failed Lexus already has the NX and It is not selling as good as the RX with the V6 . You’ve fine a very ignorant thing Lexus . You have lost 4 customers going with a 4 banger in an RX . I use to be a service advisor .
Flowier ? How about slab sided and blunt ? And multiple fake style bits ? I’m skipping this one.
Replacing their V6 with a turbo 4 is the biggest and dumbest mistake Toyota ever made.
clearly you know more than highly compensated business executives, engineers, and emissions compliance experts of a global automotive giant.
@@anonymous00117 🤣
They knew you would not be buying this new vehicle, so they went ahead and dumped the V6.
All car manufacturers will eventually do this so what's your point? Blame your government and EPA restrictions
mileage is kinda meh
Love Lexus. But not a fan of the Spindle Grill. The new RX is a little less ugly.
IMHO To me more of a "shark nose" than unibrow.
All the back and forth is kinda of annoyingly. Brian just agrees with anything making the video twice as long.
Compared to the Midsize Premium SUV segment, Lexus owners are more often women, are older, and enjoy a lower median annual household income. J.D. Power data shows that 42% of Lexus RX owners are female (vs. 38% for the segment), that their median age is 65 (vs. 58 for the segment), and that their median annual household income is $155,303 (vs. $184,248 for the segment).
Ok the stupid never ends here does it? lol
@@Mark-de4hj facts hurt your brand?
@@normt430 Not at all Norm. It just makes me wonder how some guys think that spending more or driving the biggest vehicle makes them look any better or their dks any bigger lol. And no, the fact that hard-working smart women know better than some men does not intimidate me at all. Interestingly though, using your own provided info, it seems more men than women actually own the RX so what exactly is your point?
There are a lot of luxury car drivers in the "other segment" you talk about that are leasing their cars to reduce out of pocket costs and its just natural that older people tend to have more money. Most 20-30 and even 40 year olds don't have a huge amount of money that they themselves earn (legitimately). That's why most don't have luxury cars.
BTW, I see a lot of women driving around in their big trucks so wonder how that must make you feel...?lol
Can you link me to the JD Power website page for this? Interesting.
Is the guy in the video your son?
The RX may be comfortable but it’s not to the same level of comfortable as the x5 w the air suspension, MDX w the air suspension, aviator w the air suspension, grand Cherokee summit w the air suspension, gv80 w the adaptive suspension, nautilus w the adaptive suspension
So no real advantage to the rx
The interior is very Toyota. Just large screens, with no real design motif, befitting a luxury brand.
I expect better from Lexus.😮💨
Glad you’re disappointed. I think you were one of the people who laughed at me for saying the RX interior is the worst
As someone who has seen the new RX in person, I have to say the interior is quite nice, Camera doesn’t do it good justice, there is soft materials everywhere apart from the lower parts which makes sense cos it’s gonna get scratched up
@@alwaysiyi272 have you seen the genesis gv80 interior?
Do you pay that millennial enough to buy a RX?
I think Alex is 41...making him the millennial, and Brian is Gen Z I believe.
There are no shortcuts to *getting rich,* but there are *smart ways* to go about it. I realized early in life the importance of investing for financial independence and have invested with great returns working with *a professional.*
I'm on the look for an information like this, as I'm confused on what to put my money into to avoid incurring losses. Would really appreciate it if you could throw more light
Enough duo reviews. Painful and unnecessary
Who is this Brian dude?
I guess u aint been watching alex vids lately ... Brian been on many vids all year
Gas vehicles just DONT any longer hold my interest . MY next new vehicle will be Electric
Dead on arrival. No surprise since it’s typical Lexus. They never fail to disappoint and significantly lower the bar in the automotive industry. The gv80 MDX aviator or even nautilus were already better options before the RX was unveiled and now that everyone’s driven it that still holds true.
We all knew those three main alternatives have thrown the RX in the garbage before it’s release. And guess what? That’s still the case.
Idk why anyone would waste their hard earned money on this when a gv80 MDX xc90 x5 GLE q7 q5 aviator nautilus or heck even mainstream options like the grand Cherokee L Summit, CX-9 Signature, telluride palisade Santa Fe all exist and are far superior to this Toyota highlander with dark brown lipgloss. That’s not an opinion. That’s a plain hard fact that only people without eyes would disagree on
Well done lexus. You made it that much easier to choose those rivals over this and the RX isn’t even on sale.
So important for Lexus… yet…. Very ugly and well behind the competition on looks… very disappointing… that nose looks like an afterthought !!!😢
The whole RX in general is an afterthought since it’s way behind its rivals including mainstream ones and this RX isn’t even on sale yet
