We usually added a bit more dressing and on occasion we'd mix in some cooked elbow pasta to make it a bit more substantial. I make my pea salad the exact same way but, I also add sliced boiled eggs to mine. We love pea salad in this house. 😋 Also, I wanted to add, you can also serve this on a bed of lettuce.

This has been a while…this was super common in the southern United States when I was a child, I am getting ready to turn 62 (!). I always liked it, and I have some peas fresh from my garden so I was looking for a reminder of how to make it. I hope you have tried it by now, and enjoyed it!
Whenever you sharpen a knife, whether on grinding stone or against filing, you MUST always wash the knife, because in this sharpening process, it generates tiny metal particles and if not washed off with plenty of water, those particles will end up in our stomach and harm us. So always take this precaution.

I do a pea salad without bacon and replace it with cubbed ham, mild cheddar and instead of dill I use cilantro 🌿 it’s tasty and refreshing
