    EP 22 - Filling up the arc
    It took me a while, but I've finally filled up this arc. I have been swapping and propagating since June this year trying to get enough plant material.

    Hey, Chuck, do you have a follow up video on how your encheveria elegant are doing now? Love to see them. Thanks

      Yup, you can check out the garden update videos every month as I cover these. Also I've got one episode coming out tomorrow which contains the garden update for April, you can also watch out for that one (I'm currently finishing up editing it right now as we speak! :D)

    When can you start separating the pups from the mom? Is there any particular season (best)?

    • @Cerriscapades
      @Cerriscapades  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      with ECheveria, I think mid-spring or early autumn is best. It's still warm enough but not too hot nor too cold. Echeveria grow the fastest during warmer months. They are dormant during winter, but also go semi-dormant during the hot parts of summer.

    Would it not be easier to pull the entire mom plant out and cut all the pups you want?

    • @Cerriscapades
      @Cerriscapades  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Susan V yes you are correct. But it is close to summer and I do not want to stress it by replanting the whole thing. Also back when I planted it among the rocks, it was much smaller so if I remove it now I will have to redo most of the rock arrangement. Too much work 😂.

    What is the plant behind the elegant? It has long leaves that grow upwards.
    Thanks.

    I just brought some elegant,
    It's just turn summer here in Australia and I noticed they got some sun damage with an hot day. I have it in direct sunlight. What's your thoughts on what kind of heat/ light is best?

    • @Cerriscapades
      @Cerriscapades  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      suzypie11 filtered light now while especially in summer. I am going to set up shade structures for some of my plants soon. I just use a cheap setup of metal stakes and light shade cloth.

    • @suzypie11
      @suzypie11 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cerriscapades thank you for your reply. I would love to see how you do that. I was thinking I don't have enough shaded areas and I wondered how I could creat shade. Please make a video that 😊

    • @Cerriscapades
      @Cerriscapades  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Funny that you mention that, I was planning to create a video about creating a shade structure soon since it's getting pretty hot here now! :D
      Expect it to come a few episodes from now. I'm still working on the structure!

    What happens to the stalks that are left on the mother plant after you cut the pups from them? Do they just dry up and fall off or do they grow more pups (wishful thinking)?

    • @Cerriscapades
      @Cerriscapades  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jen de Leon if there are some nodes left on the stalk, then there's still a tiny chance of that happening

    Echeveria elegance and echeveria gluca are the same or different?

    • @Cerriscapades
      @Cerriscapades  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, they are different. The glauca has thinner and pointier leaves compared to the elegans. Also the elegans is lighter, while the glauca is darker. They both turn bluish when exposed to enough sunlight.
