  • Bought this old Pro Screen about a week ago and i am seeing if we can implement it in our landscape business. Ive started collecting compost “materials” this year from all of our jobs and decided to buy this machine without even seeing it when a friend was down in La Crosse WI and saw it for sale. I have no idea if this is a good idea or a bad idea but ill tell you what, im going to find out because that's the only way you can in this business, see what works for you and if it works stick with it, if it doesn't then move to the next idea. Thanks everyone for the support here on all the vlogs and other videos i make. Also huge thanks to every that helped get this screener up here and made this happen, you know who you are!

    I compost all the waste I take off jobs. The key is to turn the pile often and just keep adding to it. Throw some crawlers in your piles. Stuff starts cooking real good when you turn it often

      I've heard to let it sit a while like 2 weeks then turn it? How often should I turn it you recommend? And do the crawlers really help!?! I might have to try them your the second person to mention it

      Carson Schifsky ya the crawlers eat everything. Ya turn it every 2 weeks.

    What size screen is in the screener now? Nice video. I like that you tried wet material. Seems like all the other videos they only have perfect conditions.

    Mix the day lilies with the other compost pile and mix them together. Hell throw some a couple dozen night crawlers in there and just turn over the pile from time to time. I still turn leafs and grass clippings to dirt in about one year.

      Will the crawlers help? i was thinking about doing that but wasnt sure if itd actually do anything, and thats what im thinking about doing. i just need more space to stock dirt now

    Definitely spread the dirt if you want it to dry, make a pile if you want stuff to decompose. Those day lily root balls a really no good so I would just bury them or get em off site.

    • @CarsonSchifsky
      @CarsonSchifsky  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I was thinking but I kind of wanted to let them sit maybe they would decompose? Not sure. The dirt was a bit wet from the rain but I want to try to get it to decompose a bit first. I was just testing the screener today to see how it all works. Really appreciate the advice thank you!

      Carson Schifsky No Problem, I’m thinking if it’s in a pile it will heat up and decompose but not to sure. Hopefully it heats up in the middle and turns into an oven and starts to bake everything leaving just dirt behind.

      Well frontier ag and turf in dresser wi has served our needs so far. However if we need bigger excavation equipment we would probably need to go to RDO equipment.

      @CarsonSchifsky  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking about making a set of grisly bars like 3" apart to get the big stuff out I think I might have to do that

    Had to stop this at the :10 second mark.... Intensely dislike the greeting "hi guys" and/or "what's up guys".... Find another, more appropriate salutation or greeting....
