TOPSOIL SCREENING - Starting the Project

We begin a brand new project that we haven't done anything like before. We have screened topsoil in the past, however this project entails more then just simply screening the soil prior to use. The Town has a criteria and standard of soil required to be used on the lots. That means we have to screen the topsoil and then mix it with a mixture ratio of organic material to further improve the quality of the topsoil. On this site we have our case 210 excavator as the main loading machine. Our Kubota SVL 75 skid steer to be the logistics machine and removing the tailings. The Case 550H Bulldozer to pile up the topsoil neatly and as high as possible as there was a lack of room on this site. Lastly the screener plant itself was a trommel screener with an additional 50 foot stacker to carry the fine topsoil further and higher away.

Looks sick. Soil must be wet. Alot of wasted soil coming off as tailings.

There’s was a bit on some days. It was early spring so the soil was a bit wet still and lots of rainy days didn’t help. But the show must go on! In the end there wasn’t that much waste

Oh yeah and it’s only one of three stock piles on the site. Might even be one of the smaller ones.

What's the tailings used for?

Nothing. They were trucked off site by someone else. I would imagine maybe as fill for a low area though not much else it cold be used for.

Sure is!! Was quite an interesting project! A lot more dirt was screened
