I had a fabulous time watching this video. I dislike the movie since it ruins Yoda a lot. He was always a symbol of "size matters not" and that the Force can be mastered by anyone. But that and the next movie showed that fights between Force users are concluded by physical fight with lightsabers, where Yoda is at the disadvantage. If you have trouble admitting that based on what we saw in the movies- imagine that there's a race of big centaur-looking aliens that are taller than any other race in SW universe by a large magnitude, one of them becomes a Sith and has a 5 m long lightsaber, while also wearing a few tons of durasteel as an armor. What would Yoda do then? There would be other ways you could show Dooku on the losing side, while also another way to show Yoda losing in Episode 3. He warned Luke to not underestimate the Emperor, so naturally in a fight Yoda should've been overconfident, partially via Palpatine acting as weaker to deceive Yoda during the battle to strike a surprise blow that would make Yoda lose.
I don't think you understood the scene correctly, or even the movies as an extention of that. The idea of the sequels is to show the slow corruption and decay of the Order, and how better to portray that than by having the most wisest character having to resolve to a lightsaber duel to try to stop a war that was begun largely from the disillusionment of the Jedi Order? Also, Yoda was clearly not at a disadvantage against Dooku, nor did Palpatine defeat him in the senate duel in RotS. The latter was merely the most important, "it is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose" moment, since for some reason the Chancellors podium is the only one not use guard rails. On Geonosis, Dooku created a diversion for him to escape, since it was obvious to him that survival was now his greatest priority. Unrelatedle, that scene where Yoda falls has a great duality in between the duels that took place at the same time on Mustafar and Coruscant, since both conclude in the winners taking the high ground
Please explain why Yoda using a lightsaber, a Jedi's signature weapon, ruins him 'a lot' especially because how he fights is tailored to being of small stature. This still shows that 'size matters not' doesn't it? Plus Dooku distracts Yoda so he can escape while the Sidious fight ended with them using the force, just so happens Yoda DID underestimate him. And even if he were fighting a larger creature with a huge lightsaber Yoda would be faster while the tall centaur thing would be slow with such a large saber it would be kind of hard to move around without cutting itself, like if it had to block from behind it might accidentally chop off its hind legs.
@@derrickstorm6976 I like how You begin Your arguments by trying to bring me down by assuming I'm retarded, cool stuff. Your first sentence makes little sense- what do the lightsabers have to do with the corruption of the order? How does the war tie in to the jedi order? Lightsabers were a part of the jedi culture since always as far as the movies are concerned. I don't have anything against lightsabers themselves, I'm saying that yoda should be above such means. As a wise master his mastery of the Force should be his means to defend. We're taking only movies under the consideration so the war starts without any involvement from the jedi order, it's Palpatine's plan. Jedi aren't idle in the conflict, 2 jedi knights help defend Naboo when the conflict is in it's roots. Sure, jedi weren't able to sense the creation of the clone army and other stuff, but Palpatine been playing them the whole time. No disillusionment involved. Yoda is seen using acrobatics to make up for his size disadvantage, if You don't see that then this conversation is over. Palpatine is fighting him where his acrobatics are harder due to limited space and dangerous heights. The last sentence is unimportant to this discussion. You ignored my example showing that size matters. But You assume I misunderstood something about the movie here. Great job, A+ at having a discussion. Feel honored that I even replied, but only because You honestly pissed me off.
@@nightthrasher24 because the OT shows that a great jedi master doesn't have to look like a "great warrior". Yoda says as much with "size matters not. Judge me by my size, do You?". Yet in the movie we see that he and Dooku have equal feats when it comes to using the Force and Dooku says that this fight will be concluded by using lightsabers. A wise jedi master turns into a fucking jumping bean, taking away any seriousness from his character. Why would a big character be slower? Especially when it can speed up with the Force? A big character with a thick skin can grab Yoda with his bare/armored hand and squish him. Obviously you can write that scene multiple ways but if those 2 were matched in the mastery of the Force then the size wins. Yoda is using the Force to move around with his acrobatics, we know that physically he's weak, walks slowly and uses a small vehicle to move around when on Coruscant.
@@miqvPL I have just rewatched the scene and Yoda doesn't seem to be jumping around like a jelly bean. The only instance can kind of see it is when he jumps onto Dooku's ship then to the wall and back again but for most of their saber battle he is either blocking with his lightsaber or jumping over Dooku's blade. Some seriousness might of been taken out of his character when he makes "Yoda noises" but he did that in the OT

The Clone War movie is the best prequel movie
That's a hot take, Olivia.
@@100StarWars yeah it is
