This was my first gravity group family coaster and I really loved it. It’s pretty whippy and fast paced but also not too intense so families can’t enjoy it. It’s a great coaster and the perfect fit for this park
Gravity Group is my absolute favorite coaster manufacturer. And with great escape as my home park (which hasn’t received a significant coaster since i was an actual child) this was absolutely mindblowing to me! Coaster itself is a total delight and the theming/scenery is very picturesque and fitting for the park. Bonus points for leaving in the original entrance archway for the bobsled- which i do very much miss. Such a great addition all in all!
These family Gravity Group wooden coaster are absolutely fantastic for families and everyone really. I only rode Kentucky Flyer and it was still really fun and Gravity Group makes the best wooden coasters.
I just got to ride this today and it was sooooo fun. The special precut track was cool to see and I had never ridden a brand new wood coaster before. So well designed like you said and such a great ride.
I hope this sets the stage for more family and thrill rides from the Gravity Group They make fantastic modern wooden roller coasters and I hope Six Flags/Cedar Fair add more of these family woodies, but ALSO more thrill wooden coasters too We need another Voyage
Six Flags America... you're due!! You have a great location... DC Metro area, within a 3 hours drive you got Phili, Baltimore, Tidewater and Pittsburg isn't too far away. Plus the region has Kings Dominion, Bush Gardens, Hershey Park, and Kennywood if we count Pittsburg. You have a built in attendance base which will only increase with premier rides. Ride of Steel is an awesome ride (woefully under appreciated) and Wild One is a hoot. Your Steam Town upgrade is nice. The Mind Eraser makeover is well done (much smoother now). Roar aint bad, actually smoother than an old woodie should be but this is perfect 'RMC' material. RMC this one and the following year add a GC 'family' coaster and you got yourself the makings of a hit park. Other suggestions.. in an off year add a dark ride, and make sure your water rides are running, they're always down when I go to visit. (The food is a bit pricy but it is what it is) keep the ride operations quick and fun and friendly, you are making improvements here but keep working on it.. Bottom Line: Add 2 new coasters over the next two years and you can be a near premier park. Build them and they will come.
Hi coaster studios, just went to magic mountain a week ago. It was awesome i rode every roller coaster. except west coast racers and Superman. They were both closed
I remember doing my first gravity group family coaster in Kentucky Flyer honestly didn’t expect much since it’s a family coaster but these rides are super fun and are for everyone. We definitely need more of these around the world they don’t miss.
The best thing about these Gravity Group junior woodies is that there is a place for one at literally every park. It not only fills a gap many parks suffer from going from kiddie coasters to thrill rides, but they are so unique unto themselves that they don't feel redundant even in a park with another family ride like a Vekoma family boomerang or a mine train coaster.
I liked Bobcat far more than Roar-O-Saurus, having ridden both for the first time in the last 2 weeks. Bobcat was far smoother and more comfortable in every way. At Great Escape, Comet is easily still my favorite. I think it's one of the more underrated woodies in the country.
personally, bobcat is my new favorite at great escape. Also the second down on a hot summer day gives great ejector in the back row. Now we just need a raptor to replace steamin pile and my home park will be set as a good quality over quantity lineup
Not really much to choose from, is there. That goes for both "quality" AND "quantity". Even with a raptor- if they are still making raptors in 20 years when this park starts to consider adding another rollercoaster. "Bobcat" looks like a decent, fun little woodie. Nothing more, nothing less- despite how bad you want it to be... Good addition for the park no doubt, but arguing quality and quantity at a park little Great Escape is silly. Kind of like saying small pops of floater are the same thing as... what was it? "Great ejector in the back row"? It's a GG family woodie, it's nice to see some love from the chain at these smaller, relatively obsolete parks, but you kind of sound a bit delusional.

This being a near clone is so Great Escape. Everything id either a clone or a relocation (although in the case of this and Comet, that's ok cause they're awesome). I'd still say Comet is probably best in the park but this is a great supporting ride.
Perhaps Gravity Group has finally figured out how to make the Intamin Prefab more economic? Maybe they will figure out how to precut the structure next...
I didn't know this was the first of its kind where the pieces of track were built in the factory instead of on sight. Id assume it brings about an easier constriction with less mistakes and its probably smoother as well.
Hot take: Great America should have done something like this with great theming for next year instead of Raksha-na-na or whatever. Maybe they think Viper fills the niche, but it doesn’t really.
@@CoasterStudios Hopefully Steaming Demon is the next to go, so the Great Escape could get a new EuroFighter or Infinity Coaster as a replacement, and maybe replace Canyon Blaster with a Chance Hyper GTX.
Depends on how far you're traveling. There are some good rides. But after the two woodies you only have an arrow corkscrew, a boomerang, and a mine train. A decent water park, and a good collection of new and classic flat and track rides. The star of the park is the bobcat and the comet. The comet started out as the crystal beach cyclone, probably the most infamous wood coaster ever made. It had a redesign and a relocation to the great escape in the 90s. And is an ace landmark coaster. Deffinately an amazing double out and back woody.

The Alpine Bobsled memorial shows you when a park cares about their defunct coasters and history.

I would love to see a backwards-facing row added to this already great coaster. Great Video, keep up that good work.😊
I love this coaster so much. It's is such a great 1-2 puch with Comet. Great Review.

I finally got on it yesterday and loved it! Back row was actually a little intense!
I look forward to riding this coaster soon. Looks pretty awesome. Gravity Group sure has done some awesome stuff
It's a wonderful ride, and great addition to the park. As a bonus, it's beautifully themed.
the little bobcats outside of the ride are ridiculously cute
Maybe if they add the 7th row, they can make it face backwards
bro imagine that
Six Flags Great America should get one of these so they can take back the record for most wooden coasters
5:20 How they have that big turn broken up by an airtime hill honestly reminds me a little of i305's moment right after the huge airtime hill haha.
i have also had the experience of riding this at night and it is a fantastic night ride. can't wait till fright fest to get some more night rides.

These Gravity Group rides look fun af
Gotta give great escape credit they had one of the most successful new coasters of 2024
I feel like six flags great adventure needed this and six flags great escape needed flash vertical velocity.
thats actually a pretty interesting point and frankly, you're not wrong.

This coaster looks very fun.
Looks just like the Roar-O-Saurus at Story Land
I really want a family woodie like this at BGT. Would be perfect for kids getting up to IG
I just hope that ride hopes that more coasters will come to Great Escape in the future.
Cedar point needs one of these! You think that could replace Gemini someday?
They should put in a backward facing seat for that last row. Looks like a great little family coaster.
SFDK could definitely use one of these
It looks soo fun!
It just goes to show that you don't need to build the biggest and baddest ride to create something that's truly great.
Is it better or worse than Timber though? From the looks of it Bobcat seems like a smoother but slightly less aggressive ride
This is an accurate statement
Six flags over texas needs something like this
It looks great!
Perhaps Gravity Group has finally figured out how to make the Intamin Prefab more economic? Maybe they will figure out how to precut the structure next...
Six flags America should look into this ride
I didn't know this was the first of its kind where the pieces of track were built in the factory instead of on sight. Id assume it brings about an easier constriction with less mistakes and its probably smoother as well.
It's the first time Gravity Group has done it, but Intamin made four like this between 2000 and 2008.
Hot take: Great America should have done something like this with great theming for next year instead of Raksha-na-na or whatever. Maybe they think Viper fills the niche, but it doesn’t really.
There's also the Historic Little Dipper.
Were you at CGA yesterday? I think I saw you
yeah, i saw them as well
We were there last night, yes!
I’m thinking… backwards row?
So, Timber or Bobcat?
Okey❤ nice
FAVORITE IN THE PARK!?!??! HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ABOUT STEMON DEMON!?!?!?!?!?!??
Steamin Demon is one of the worst roller coasters I have ever ridden in the entire world… and that’s not an exaggeration.
@@CoasterStudios hahaha just might be worse than Canyon Blaster... but barely... its very close to a tie.
@@CoasterStudios Hopefully Steaming Demon is the next to go, so the Great Escape could get a new EuroFighter or Infinity Coaster as a replacement, and maybe replace Canyon Blaster with a Chance Hyper GTX.
Is this park worth a trip ?

now that they have bobcat, I'd say yes. the atmosphere makes up for the small coaster collection
If u live not far or you will be nearby for anything yes
And it being open in the pouring rain is not taking good care of it it’ll be worse than mean streak in the next 8 years if they keep doing that lol
I thought it was gci😮😮😮
I feel like gci’s track tends to be darker
@@Coaster_Crash i thought they also had them 2 rows of planks in the middle
Comet > bobcat
I agree
What about the nightmare?
That was 2006
Imo Comet is better
