Wow, worked next to Delmar on the starting tables over 20 years ago with Dennis and Brent. That guy would rivet a boat so fast (Brent and I) used to see that we could get more done in a day while keeping a high level of standard. Kinda miss bucking rivets with those guys.
I wonder if they ever considered friction stir welding... Could align everything in a jig with backing support and weld the whole thing together with an industrial robot. Pretty slick really.
I just put a deposit on a Lund Fury 1600 ss. Im trading in a Lowe Stryker 17 and I'm excited for the first time in like 20 years about something. I liked the Lowe ok but it just isnt the right boat for me, I believe the Lund is and I cant wait to fish it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just bought a Lund 1875 Impact Sport. Why are the windshields on many lund owner's boats, including mine, off track when shut? One reason I bought a lund was for fit and finish, but didnt think once about shutting the windshield on the showroom floor to see if it was on point. Drove it home, shut the windshield, and was off about 3/4 inch......smh. Just gonna ignore it cause if it was like that new, no way that's gonna get fixed. Just is what it is. Love everything else on the boat.
Lund and Crestliner are owned by Brunswick Corporation which is the largest marine manufacturer in the world. It’s weird because Crestliner boats prides themselves on the fact that their boats are fully welded and Lund boats are riveted. Say what you want to but in my opinion, the only better looking aluminum boats than the Pro V model Lund boats are the AVX model Vexus Bass boats.
It's a four-stroke with an oil reservoir crankcase. Heat is what will kill a motor and even a minute of run time isn't going to get the motor hot enough to do anything; they had it going maybe 15 seconds for that video shot. If they do any tuning, I'm sure they will have a hose hooked up.
why did i buy a Lund 1750 XS Rebel SS for double the money VS a Tracker ? i dont know tbh, only time will tell, can someone tell me why Lund is so expensive? ive googled it all day long, google didnt help . sweden here, we have little knowledge about us bassboat history , fill me in on this .
Kalle. You paid more to buy a Lund because you don't want your boat to break in half 20 miles from shore when things get ruff. You also paid more because nobody uses available storage space like Lund, even Alumacraft. It cost money to make that space useable. One more reason is because any experienced boater won't pay you squat for your used piece of crap Tracker when it comes time to sell it.
Fiona Feng I just bought the targa V20. It’s got 5 year warranty and lifetime warranty on welds and aluminum. 🤷♂️. Im stoked. I think my family will enjoy it. If not I’ll trade it in for a jet sled later 😂. I wanted a river raft outfitted for fishing and multi day expeditions in Alaska. My wife wanted a pontoon. We settled for the targa 🤷♂️🤣
My first boat was a tracker Grizzly. Keel weld cracked. Got it welded at two shops, one that specializes in aluminum welding, 2nd time at Cracker, I mean Tracker dealership. Have a 2020 Lund Impact now. Figured I would give a riveted boat a shot since they flex and welds do not. We shall see how it goes
@@livebig247 All current NZ Aluminium boats bigger than dinghys are welded. Skins are usually thicker and heavier to take the welds. 0.125" is absolute minimum, usually up to 0.2" on the hull bottom.
Dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the latest series on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my gf for the last few days =)
Yes there us a rush people are rude and bitching at other people try and squeeze there boat around u try and get into the dock between ur boat and dont care if they hut ur boat it never was this way but the woke public us beyond common sense

Did you retire?
Pro V 2075 Limited my dream boat!!
I wonder if they ever considered friction stir welding...

Pretty slick really.
Some limited use in aerospace
Please open a Lund plant in Windsor Ontario... surrounded by the Great Lakes and we have an eager work force.
Hay question. Do they use closed cell or open in the foam installation.???

So the boat experts at Lund test run (18:58) all the installed motors without water?!?!
And all that work and quality put into a boat and they still have a wood floor, it's a shame.
They use a hose to check motor 🤷♂️. That’s not uncommon
There is no hose visible and no water or pee stream under the boat
Did it for the camera!

we paid $19k in 1998 for our 18 pro-v terminate , now the same boat 2024 is over $130k. thanks but will keep our 1998. still in great shape.

I got a tracker because I think 2 peace weld is better than useind rivets
I have a tracker for 6 years and it has yet to break down

@@fionafeng3172 Lunds riveted boats last way longer then trackers does
wood n carpet? wonder how long it will last
Well, my Alumacraft Classic 16 is 32 years old and it has a wood and carpet deck. You just have to take care of them.
Don't let it sit out in the rain or snow uncovered and it will last a long time...mine is a 2008 and the hull and decking are in great shape.
don't worry about it. my 18 pro-v is a 1998 model. lund replaced the complete floor in 2022 under their lifetime warranty (original owner only).
Do employees get free boats? Or big discounts anyway? I've always been curious.
Nothings ever free, depends employees position. I imagine some of them can get dealer cost if they are high enough on the Totem pole
Will Lund do custom items eg no wiring, no engine, leaving windshield separate for install by owner etc?
Yes on Lund’s website you can customize your own
This is why I’ll only buy Lund boats. Made by hand by real people. Also in my own state.
The President of the company could have acknowledged the host of the show, most of the workers had no personality except for the decal lady.
I don't want them to be personable, I want them to be all business building our boats lol
Well, that's obvious.
They probably can’t hear jack in there lol
Too bad they still use wood floors. Marine plywood is still plywood. I went with aluminum flooring. Won’t ever get soft. EVENTUALLY the plywood will.
Welds over rivets all day. Why still using rivets that weaken over time?

Laughs as my last 97 had no issues while people’s new aluminum fall apart
There is a reason they don't weld airplanes...
re-run

@Gatlin Nikolas yup, I have been using InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
Shit, they dont even vacuum the boat before putting the foam in... Terrible
