I recommend using the concrete rollers. I've found they compact it incredibly fast and spread it out the best. I know it's for deleting fields but it's worked for me so far! Excellent video by the way!
farming simulator 17 is probably my favorite farming simulator, it just feels wholesome not sure why though, i ended up watching this video because i like silage the most lol

If you wanna get rid of the blanket bug (where the weird shape stays blanketed), just try and scoop it as if it was a moveable pile and the blanket should disappear :)
so here is my story.
couples months ago my friends send me this game because he already have FS 17 on his library. At the moment i didn't play this game or touched because in my mind it's like "nah, that's boring game". And then 2 days ago for some reason while i watching youtube, youtube recomended me watching silage making 2015. at that moment i realize i have FS 17 in my library and why not try to play it.
after play it for 1 hours idk what's exactly im going to do, and then searching tutorial i find this channel. it's very useful video, thanks moosee for that.
IMO this game is the best simulator i ever play and community is best too. like games ETS2=boring, Arma 2=old but lack of community, Arma 3=it's quite good but not at good at this, spintires=fun but bored after couple hours and then this game, i play straight 12 hours without getting bored at all. there is something wrong with me ?

1 question. Can you mix the types of product for the silos. For example, if I already have grass in a silo, can I put chaff in that same silo?
Cody Sheffield if you cut the grass with a forage harvester you would be able to but if you just mowed the grass,you would not

I'm not up with the times I just got this game for Xbox one. Lol thanks for the video. How full can you get the silo at the cow farm? How much does it hold? Side note: if you wrap bails with the bail wrapper and sell them at your barn (not biogas plant) you consistently get $5,880 PER BAIL. That price never fluctuates like the market does for crop sales it takes alittle longer but it's worth it as the price is always the same. I farm all three fields with grass on my farm and fertilize it, I get around 500k per harvest of silage that way. No mods. It's the same map that you have.
I know one thing, the price for straw and silage has dropped in this game. straw in 15, a full wagon (21,300) brought around 3-4k now it brings around 1,500. silage in 15 used to go for around 2k-4k per thousand. it's half that now. atleast missions make up for that lost money

I noticed on my covered silage I did the same where it was still covered and I was able to retrieve it when I got a loader and tried scooping it.. this worked for me hope it works for you

Can anyone tell me why would we use CHAFF to make Silage? and not grass or hay which seem cheaper and easier? do we get more from Chaff or what?

The reason it doesn’t uncover all of it is because that’s how you do it in real life. Otherwise mold can grow if it’s exposed too long
u dont need to have it to 10 percent as it has no fill level

I had the same problem about the silo cover not coming off . but i used the conveyor belts and it got it all out the cover disappear as well

Just came across two issues with silage, I'm in the middle of unloading silos right now.
1: There seems to be a sell limit like there was in FS15, 50,000. When the bin hits that it will stop accepting, or staggers accepting.
2: I can only seems to suck up silage with conveyors from the left hand side of each silo, not the middle. This maybe a update thing, or a Courseplay mod thing, as I only noticed it after I got both of those.
So I have done as u said & now my grass has turned to silage but the blanket is not disappearing as u say it should. What should I do?? Absolutely love ur videos tho, they have helped tremendously

A good trick to compact the hay faster is using a tractor with a big trailer full of grain, it will go 10times faster!
dual tires works just as good and you won't get stuck
i really like your videos, however, I still have a question about hay for the bedding and feed. we dropped bails at the cow barn but do we need to get a spreader?

By the way if he already didn't say this you can use a leveller to flatten it and make it easier to drive on.
whats the fastest way to compact? just the biggest baddest tractor? the silage compactors i see dont weigh very much compared to weights. ive been loading about 500k in a silo

you can uncover that bug with unloading some already fermented silage next to the covered silage .
Can you just mow grass normally without using harvester to make silage? Or what do you have to use? On Xbox one
Moose, I just started using your 2 belt and forage wagon transfer to unload silos, and I really like it. I do have 2 silos that are buggy (one says it has chaff in it, but it doesn't, and the other had 2 blankets in it and I can't open the second) Did your bugged silo ever get fixed, and what do you suggest on the bugged out silos?
Anyone aware of any glitches in Xbox One system. I watched your video that instructed me, but the tippers etc won't dump inside the silos just at the end. Anyone else having this problem? I even tried buckets and I tried to the leveler to push the pile inside the silo. Confused. Thanks for your wonderful videos. I've learned much from each one.

Hello moose. Im new to thus game and i have loads of questions for you. But 1 goes with another video u made. When i harvest corn, where and How Do i unload it and how do i do silage with it. Im sure i messed up because i harvested the corn and then unloaded it at the silo by my barn

I have a problem with silage getting stuck in the wall and i can get it out and it doesn't lets me put grass into it.

I'm having some major silage bugs as well. Hopefully they can patch a fix soon.

You can use the roller to clean up the silo which should solve this issue.
I had the same problem with the cover not removing. I tried the conveyor but only chaff came out. So I bought a Front Loader and Silage fork. As soon as I drove close to the cover it folded back.

Y did i get a different amount when I sold my silage from over by my cows? I did leave it there for a long time. I got a 1000 a bucket from making it at the gas comp and only 600 cor making it over by my cows
Can you use straw. I have a full silo/hayloft of straw and nothing to do with it.

It isn't the odd shape of the grass in the first channel it is just the channel, this happened to me and mine was perfectly flat so it is just the first channel.

Im on console....i was reading the silage info before this vid and it specifiacally says that chaff is needed to make silage....i assumed it would be the same process as in 15

In FS 17 for xbox one bunks in the game I have clean my bunk completely clean and it still says that there's still a little bit left and I've stripped the entire floor and sides it won't let put new chaff in bunk because it's still claims that has silage has anyone eles had this issue ive tried everything help

Hey Moose. I just subscribed but I have a question. I put chaff in the silo thing at the cow pasture and covered it. It is now silage but my question is this. Are we not able to dump new chaff in the same silo with silage? I am having trouble figuring that out.
My game won't allow me to dump the chaff with it. Is that a glitch or just something we can't do?
In FS15 you had to clear it all before adding new stuff to ferment. I assume it's the same here.
