Quick few tips for starting out. When first starting out, scroll all the way out on the map so you can see all the regions and the resources each has. You should immediately come up with a game plan of what regions you want and what each will focus on. This is one of the most important things to do since you will only get a total of 6 development points per region. Your main town will most likely end up being your trade hub and where most of you armor/weps will be made. So you’re only going to want to focus on those items in the development tree. If you plan on taking a region that is high in fertility then focus that region on farming specifically.
Starting out, yes your main village will have everyone doing a bit of everything. However, the moment you can, take a region that allows you to focus on something specific like mining or farming. Setup up a small village in that region with a Pack Station and send all those goods to the main village. This is when you can start converting all your workers doing these jobs in the main village over to artisans. Farming tends to be the easiest to initially set up like this.
This made me not only a better person but a richer me and my civilians havn't been madder
I do find it pretty relaxing. (On EA release) The Work Camp upgrade to the Homeless Camp allows you to continue the 50% approval so that if you build at least one house during month one, you will have a new family move in during April. (month 2) I still build houses, now 6, then demolish the camp to get rid of the homeless icon. I'm pretty sure the homeless Icon that remains is tied to the level up Requirements for the Village, not approval. If I don't use the Work Camp, I loose approval for homelessness after April then no families move in until I get the houses built and the approval back up. This makes Family #6 move in during May instead of April. (month earlier new family is the short story) Love the idea about using a work camp for distant resources.
My world has changed, thank you Raptor
Awsome walkthrough and some amazing tips in there!
I have about 30 hours in the game and I did not know about that "minus-sign"-thing when building houses, to make their backyards bigger. Definately gonna use that alot more. Thanks again!
this is a good quick tour to watch before first game or after loosing your first one ;)
Watching this video has saved me from despair; my life will never be the same! Now I have the courage and motivation to prepare Fritzburgers and ale for my entire neighborhood.
Oh thank you! This will help so much.
Hi, I'm from Slovakia. My city had 100% satisfaction (I know, you just have to have 75%). I would welcome in the future rivers, lakes, seas - boats, fishing. Research points are going slow (at least for me), I had a problem to get to level 3 home for a long time. It's a shame that when I want to send resources from one region to another, I have to do something for something. Very slow to grow trees. I'm afraid I'll cut down all the trees on the map. :))
Wow this video changed my life!
This is very helpful. Ty Raptor!
"The trading post information provided is quite useful. In my opinion, it's optimal to build your trading post near either your storage posts or the trading points situated at the edges of the map. Additionally, purchasing more than 2 horses isn't necessary. In the advanced tab, you'll notice that only 2 horses can be dedicated to one trading post. Personally, I haven't experienced any noticeable benefits after exceeding this limit. These horses are utilized for passive trade routes.
Moreover, when unlocking a trading route for 25 coins, you as a Lord purchase both the guy and the cart. This investment is crucial for facilitating quick and plentiful export/import in your village. For those looking to trade food or clothing, remember this: Each villager consumes 1 unit of food per month, regardless of the type, and any clothing unit is utilized once a year per family. For instance, if a village has 121 houses and 153 families, with all at level 1, the monthly expense is 153 food units, regardless of variety. For level 2, it's 2 types, and for level 3, it's 3 types. Calculate your needs accordingly.
absolutely incredible video, changed my life
I SUCK at this game. I can get 50 people with 100% satisfaction but inevitably die to raiders because I can’t figure out how to properly arm my militia. The raiders burn my town down every time lol😂
One of the easy ways is to make artisans build war bows, it's quite easy because only uses planks to make it. I have two families making bows and it's enough to supply 200 archers :P
Shields it's easy too because only uses planks iirc.
Weapons like sword and spears can be tricky because you will need iron ingots
@@JawBr THANK YOU! They start me off with 20 spears and 20 shields I think, but it’s never been enough to take on the bandits. I always have a surplus of planks, so that’s going to be ace.
I thought I was going to have to establish a major trade route to get the good stuff, which I also don’t know how to do lol
I had the same issue and I didn't figure out the part with making bows early for a 2nd or 3rd militia till later. But my solution was to get a manor house and some taxes going, and then use mercenaries as cannon fodder to defend my lands in the "early" game. Also, a neat little trick I found, was that unlike your regular militia, the mercanaries can go into other teritories and kill the bandit camps, giving you extra coins, basically they pay for themselves this way
@@PBartelsP Damn, that’s get to know. Mercs can pay for themselves.
Trade for weapons is also possible!
OMG this game changed my prospective on gaming!
I like it ! I like the time it takes to get stuff done ! I havn't even got around to combat yet !
Awesome video!! plus your city layout looks amazing... mine looks like the town planner was doing shrooms 😬
Thanks Raptor this video was very helpful and I’m glad Manor Lords is finally here.
Farming seems to be small plots, with farm houses of 2-4 with oxen for each. Quicker farming and seeding, and when you have it up to speed, you can farm many small plots instead of one-2 big plots that may not be seeded/farmed in time.
best manor lords tutorials on the planet .. i learned so much .. got manor lords play issues here are the answers you need to win .. cheers raptor
@Raptor I found that having even smaller fields about 0.1-0.3 Morgen is way more efficient. The people will finish the same amount of farming faster and will start seeding each field once done while other small fields are still being plowed. Instead of a large field, where they will have to wait for the whole field to be done plowing before they begin to seed/sow the field. Even with the Ox plowing the field, the people have to wait till the Ox is done before they can start sowing, with the smaller fields, they can get more fields sowed in a short amount of time instead of waiting for one large field 1 morgen or larger to be plowed.
This video is so good it changed my DNA
Zone markets in a couple small areas spread out in your town to give nearby homes the market buff instantly
I don't think I"ll play it again until more of it is developed. To see so much of the develpmetn tree, policies, etc "under development" I feel like if I really get into it now I'll just have to relearn everything again once it's more developed.
Thanks for posting this video. I have enjoyed your broadcasts on Twitch.
Appreciate you dropping in to comment, Eliot!
Great tutorial thanks
Exporting has a demand and supply mechanic that will eventually lower your export price, and later, halt your export as the market becomes saturated. Check the trading post occasionally, and if you see an arrow pointing down on the product you're exporting. It means you're receiving less profit. At that point set the trade rule to "no trade" and try with other goods til the export price becomes average again.
EDIT: thanks to @slandshark for correcting my mistake.
I think you mean 'export'? You don't get money from imports, you get money from exports.
@@slandshark you're correct. I got the term wrong. I meant export.
I think getting better deals with the first 2 points is the most important action in the game.
ive gotten to the point where i can defeat the first wave of raiders, but the second wave is a roadblock for me, in a good way. I have to restart and try and try again. and after that its trying to take over other regions that conflict with your main enemy, and even more fighting happens.
I think there is a great amount/reasonable amount of warfare in this.
Thanks! 🙏🏼
OH MY GAWD! THIS VIDEO CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!
I got my answer for a question by chance, caught you live 11 hours ago when you mentioned that the Sawpit should have an ox assigned. I thought there was a bug with the planks production.
Watching from Romania. 😆
Lots to remember for sure! Greetings from south africa,
thankyou Raptor.
I will wait for the full release , if and when it comes out but in the meantime I will keep following its progress.
Great tutorial, very helpful! Just trying the game out now. Oh and the word you were looking for is Publican :o)
Hi Raptor, thanks for showcasing these tips. I'm sure people (and myself) will find some use in it.
I have a Q: I'm in my first playthrough and encounter a baron opponent who on 2 occassions brings 400+ armies to the battlefield, meanwhile I only have like 80 militia+ retinue... My coffers are not that wealthy yet, since I just started 4 years ago (game time). I was thinking these major armies were late game... Even with mercenaries I couldnt come close and he soundly beat my army into oblivion.
How can I defeat this baron, before he gulps up all the regions and I have to claim them from him (for 2k influence)...??? He already took 4 regions, leaving 2 for me and 1 unclaimed.
OMG this vídeo changed my life… (I forgot the rest…) Ty Raptor
So about those trades, funny thing, I had a rich clay deposit, so I made my own roof tiles because of that initial price.
After I'd sold a few, demand was bottoming out. My rooftiles went from 8 to 1 and were hardly selling.
Good stuff
The civilian side of this game is, already, highly in depth. Now, that you mentioned probable siege & cavalry expansions; I'm looking forward to equipping & training a cohort of Winged Hussars!
I had a drought in my literal first summer on balanced, I was unaware actually until the very end of it. The grass was dry in August.
Trade was changed i thought, when u sell/buy a lot the market prices off that product will crash/rise depending on supplies and demand. It could be changed already I’m not sure
thank you!
realy good tips, thanks for then from Czech Republic
Game is pretty similar to Rimworld or even Going Medieval, was pretty easy to grasp after playing those games.
OMG, this video changed 29 minutes and 28 seconds of my afternoon.
Best regards from Argentina!
Wow this is amazing
Thanks to you, I'll be able to become the Lordiest Lord I can be !!
They need the ability to butcher your sheep or add pigs. Some way to get meat other than hunting
The worker camp upgrade removes the homeless penalty (at least in easy standard settings) BUT notifications still say families might be unhappy and or freeze (bug?) Families remain in the upgraded camp until it's deleted even if burgages are built BUT approval doesn't decrease (again harder settings may debuff approval I haven't tried harder settings yet) TLDR on easy settings upgrade peasant camp STRAIGHT AWAY for 1 log homeless penalty is removed and families arrive faster and move into burgages while the initial 5 families remain in the worker camp.
More games with such attention to detail.
Omg, a cohesive game guide
It's the firewood that gets me. They chop trees so fast, my trees go quick. Then people get mad at me for no wood
Build a forester. It grows trees around itself
I've found that getting the charcoal pits from the development tree is a great investment. It definitely is a bit of a loss that it can take away one of your early game development points that could go into something else, but for your starting region I find it is a must have technology. Being able to essentially double your firewood by having a charcoal pit will really save you in the long run.
lets just say i have restarted like 400 times
Haha, same. Learn something new each time though.
found it easier then farthest frontier. nice small villages tho, very peaceful
👍 hello from 🇫🇷 and thanks for the tutorial, something that I don't understand is how to use livestock to fertilize the fields, I have sheep but I can't get them to go to a fallow field, thank you for your help 🙏🏻
Good question! Working to figure that out on stream today!
where's the vid that shows how to start out your town?
nevermind lol
I am doing very well at the beginning, a lot of food, a lot of fuel, come next spring I expand another five or six houses to start farming and all of a sudden my food is low, I get I have more mouths to feed to i would expect to have a good harvest which is difficult cause I have to wait every two years to let things follow,
Love it
Raptor do you think this would come out on mobile eventually
Is there a way to transfer animals from one stable/hitching post to another? I have a horse in a stable far away from my trader and would like to move him to the hitching post near my trader.
Good question!!!! I don’t think so at the moment?!
My manor wall did not build…… do I need to demolish and rebuild it?
OMG This IS The Best Video ! TY Raptor Lord 🍕🍕🍕🍕
Great game, however my computer keeps crashing after about 30mins of play. Do you guys think its a memory issue?
i think the game will have crap ton of patching with a lot of changes in different aspects of the game, so a lot of this will change significantly
Do the towers in the manor do anything? I didn't see my outer towers shooting at anybody when the battle was happening right below them.
Honestly I’m not sure how they work. I think when there is an attack the citizens who are not rallied into the militia take shelter at the manor and man the towers if there is enough people. Not fully clear on it yet.
"i'm so excited, and i just can't hide it. i'm about to lose my wife, and i'm still excited". woo hoo
how do i get rid of these spare logs laying around...its so annoying
Instructions unclear, I just downloaded Raid: Shadow Legends!
the think i am afraid is the single dev.. how fast can they patches?
I went to sit down to play and my laptop wont turn on 😢 im pissed
How in the name of the lord (me) did you get some much regional and personal wealth?? That is nuts!
I do have a few tutorials on it! Slow start then cash explodes!
The ox ate my baby
my worst enemy is food 😅
Solution is backyard farms. Farming sucks.
Pineapple pizza Please!😀👍
It says you can sell blocks as well... but I have no idea how to make blocks?
Blocks are currently not in the game. Soon!
@@Raptoria Thanks for the reply! Love watching your videos!
I gained 4 cm in height by watching this video
❤❤
How in the world do you get 75k in your treasury? Only way I found to make treasury cash is bandit camps and taxes
Exports too! Start with some simple planks or firewood.
@@Raptoria export sales don’t go to the treasury tho do they just regional wealth I thought.
OMG, this video is so good it got my girlfriend pregnant!
Play better "ostriv" :))
I want to support the project. Maybe it's just me, but I think the $30 is asking too much for early access
Yeah it’s pricey I grabbed it on cd keys for a lot less at the start. Seems early access is too expensive these days I suppose you want to charge for the amount of content compared to final.
The game is good though but its not gonna hurt anything waiting for a sale and more development.
Bought it, played for 2 hours, returned it! Boring as fuck!!😢 I hope it becomes fun in the future
im gay
A lot of mechanics are not fleshed out. Disappointing game
First
Legit this game last for about 30 hours tops before you've built, seen and done everything it has to offer. It's riddled with bugs and seems to have almost zero playtests.
pure hype i just refunded it
Did u realise the game is still in early access before u bought it? It has heaps more shit on the way.
I'm a happier, more wholesome person after watching this video, and now I have have a bigger ...pen.
