The Taliban and Al-Qaeda only seem to have the weak and pathetic power to destroy rather than create. And they wonder why their country became hated and isolated to the rest of humanity

I had the immense privilege of visiting the Buddhas of Bamyan in 1974, and of getting to know Afghan culture. They were certainly religious, but also proud of these statues. Their destruction in 2001 caused me incredible pain, and despite all my good will, I can only conclude that religion taken to extremes is a pit of evil.

6:14 I love that Raeen tried to speak with The Man with the donkeys. I like that he is not being shy.

ISIL also did this in Babylon to the remnants of the Sumerians and other priceless artifacts. Why is Islam so destructive?

@@dingus6317 Islam follows the same rules as Judaism or Christianity. In the Bible, it says, 'You shall have no other gods before me,' and in Islam, it is stated, 'There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.' The Taliban took this literally

I have enjoyed this series so far. It shows you many things in a country where I as a western white man can never go safely. It's a shame about what has happened with historic landmarks and such. I do hope that one day things will be different and more open to outsiders

Omg y'all are brave. Afghanistan is crazy again. I guess if you are male, you have a little privilege to travel whereever. But they will stop you on certain roads, male, female, no difference. Please be safe

There is a British TH-camr who traveled to Afghanistan. She had male companions, without whom her trip would not have been possible. She also had the opportunity to speak with Afghan women. For a man, it would not be possible to talk to a woman. Her documentary about Afghanistan is very interesting. If you're interested, search for Carrie Patsalis.
