How did you get the fake-solve notation on your screen? Was that due to a specific function of your browsertimer or just luck what i really dont think it was.
Reasons I subscribed : 1. You didn't have a 10 minute intro explaining what the title says. 2. You somehow fit some chuckley(?) comedy in there 3. The video actually has what is in the title (no clickbait is basically what I am saying) 4. Expanded and have more useful info on some of the terms. Keep it up
Please make more of these if you can, this helps both me and also newer Cuber's! I can watch this with my friend (who's been cubing for 2 months) and I (who's been cubing for close to 10) and we both learn new things. Hell, I didn't even know ZBLL was a thing until I watched this 😂
Yeah I will! I don't want to go overboard with this kind of stuff since my main goal with this channel is to help people improve their times. But every once in a while I make fun/more beginner videos :)
Great video as Always. Even though, I am a fan of Mats Valk and a fan of you Jperm, this not very fair to mention the impact of the last F2L without mentioning my friends Ron Van Bruchem (ZBF2L), Lars Vandenberg and Dan Harris (VHLS). I remember that they worked on that long before Mats did.
+Stephane Escaich Yeah but a significant portion of ZBLS(ZBF2L) is hardly used by anyone, I know of Anthony Brooks using it, and VHLS is not super useful in speedsolving. Significant portions of VLS is learned by many top cubers. I know that those other subsets are historically important, but I feel like right now VLS is more relevant.
hey j perm, i have a quick question. ur channel name is j perm, which is obviously the pll. ur profile picture is a picture of the j perm done on a 2x2. why is that? 2x2 isnt even ur main event, im pretty sure 3x3 is, and for the 2x2 picture, some people do t perms to solve it, not just j perms. i think it would be more fitting for it to be a j perm on a 3x3, but if theres a reason then id be happy to know
+Chris Choi when making the channel, I googled j perm and this image was the best image that was simple, clean, and easy to recognize. I also didn't want a J perm with arrows because it looked generic and lame, but this one makes you think about it to realize it's a J perm, which I thought was fun. btw ur critique is probably the next video out
Just Incase you’re all wondering His “sub 1” 2x2 solve was the 2015 wr single set by rami Spahi Just find his video and the scramble will be in the description
Permutation actually means something done in a specific order. like an algorithm. Also a door code is not a combination because a combination is something done in any order and a code is in a specific order so it is a permutation.
you are A GOD. You're literally my favorite cubing person. I mean your humor, intellect, and personality just stand out perfectly. Hope you grow more in the future. The world needs to know about you
What is the best method to solve a 3x3 the quickest? I got my cube literally 1 day ago and I’m learning Friedrich’s method/CFOP right now. Also, if cfop is a good method, what’s a good way to remember all of the OLL algorithms and cases? Thanks In advance everyone!
start with 2-look PLL and 2-look OLL, which is far fewer algorithms and a good start. cfop is the methods that holds all the world records right now :)
wow i'm back here after 6 months. 6 months ago i think I'm still sub sub 17 or sub 16 with a dead meilong i magnetized myself. my 5x5 was also about 2:30s or above now i'm averaging sub 2:20 i believe.
J Perm wow. I never thought to get a reply from you but I told that because I thought it would damage the cube can you tell me some other lubes? I'm a noob at cubing :3
+SalmanPlayz I used traxxas 50k and Maru lube before getting speedcubeshop lubes and trying them out. I like the martian in my valk but I haven't tried it on other cubes
Probably a dumb question, but isn’t AUF a common cubing term that could use an explanation? I think it means that the top face isn’t correctly rotated after a PLL algorithm, but I can’t figure out what the letters stand for.
Will_Fighter no, it was 4. if you strictly follow the ortega method yes it would have been R’ for first face and OLL then R2 U2 R2 for PBL (because he held blue towards him) then an AUF, but J Perm did R instead of R’ and R2 which saved him a move. in total it was 4
I can prove Feliks faked all of his unnofficial solves- when he saw the scramble, he was able to look ahead and see how to cube looks so he had 20 seconds inspection.
The way I realized that your solve isn't official is because: I understood you got a scramble which was setting your cube in the middle of an Ortega alg. It is the easiest case in Ortega PBL. AND I KNOW THIS ISNT A WAY TO DETERMINE IT. The thing is that the entire alg is 3 moves long if you use the HTM method. That is how the WCA records it. AND THE MAIN POINT IS THAT, TO SOLVE A 2*2 CUBE, THE SOLVE SEQUENCE NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 4 MOVES OR MORE ACCORDING TO THE RULES ON THE WCA Page. That is my main point.
For the fack 2x2 solution: 1 face matched the opposite side while the green face and blue face could be simultaneously solved in just one rotation. You will need a specific algorithm to so-call "shuffle" the cube in order to get that formation and is therefore a faked shuffle, am I wrong?
The basics are to use a lettering scheme (1 letter per sticker) and memorize letter pairs like IC = ice cream, and then make a story out of all the things you memorized. Another method is audio, such as memorizing HSTKEMO by trying to pronounce the whole thing. It's faster to memorize but harder to remember for a long time. What I do is memorize corners with letter pairs, then memorize edges with audio, then solve edges so i don't forget the audio, and then solve corners.
I get better as I keep cubing... Like if I stated an average, I'd average about 16ish for the first 25 solves, then I'd average about 15 for the next 25 solves, then fourteen for the last 50. And if I get to around 200 solves in a day I'll start averaging about 13 seconds. What would you say my global average is?
+pidgestar max repel that's not the problem, since a legal 2x2 scramble needs at least 4 moves to solve and I did 4 moves. plus, this was a legitimate scramble in a competition.
+pidgestar max repel no, besides using an old WR scramble I believe it was perfectly faked, which is to show that you can't believe all at-home solves you see even if they look really convincing
The Casual Cuber. if you look at the other stickers, after making the two opposite faces he would have gotten the R2 F2 R2 PBL case, so he held one of the faces towards him to instead make it R2 U2 F2 which sped it up just a bit
Hi man! So i'm still learning Cfop, And I don't think this is a question you can answer, But is it possible for a 10 year old to learn about 200 Algorithms? Or can you give some tips I can do to memorize it? Thanks anyway man.
+Justin Ernest yes it's possible, but you might be 11 by the time you finish and are fluent at them all. I like to practice doing algs fast so they're a part of my muscle memory, and don't learn too many at once or you'll forget them.
LOL I kept trying to find my own ways to insert the last F2L pair while orienting the last layer, without knowing that it was already there.... The feels when you spend your entire time finding something new just to realise someone has already done it... Its ok, I still have my own blockbuilding method....
How did you get the fake-solve notation on your screen?
Was that due to a specific function of your browsertimer or just luck what i really dont think it was.
that's the part that makes it convincing :)
can anyone figure it out?
it's not video editing
Minute?
Manuel müller minute?
+J Perm you used inspect duhh
You didn't do the moves in the scramble, you did your own scramble?

make a tutorial on full winter variation and vls algorithms please
Awesome! I learned that there are national records!
What sucks is my country isn't even represented on the WCA lmao
what website are you on?
it was one move away from solving white and green so you can do a pbl alg after that or some eg1 thing
Really nice video
What’s better learning vls and full pll or learn zbll
Learn full pll first, then vls and winter variation. And only then learn zbll
6:21 y does ur cube have the wrong color scheme
huh
Need tips on quick BLD memorization, please.
What I do is memorize corners with letter pairs, then memorize edges with audio, then solve edges so i don't forget the audio, and then solve corners.

yes it is 1 outer turn for +2

I finally found the flaw in the fake 2x2 slove, you just have to do part of an Ortega alg to slove it
+pidgestar max repel that's not the problem, since a legal 2x2 scramble needs at least 4 moves to solve and I did 4 moves. plus, this was a legitimate scramble in a competition.

U have failed ur commas it's not hi,my name is Daniel it is hi, my name is Daniel.
I love this kind of video
if the algorithm that your using is Ortega, the two faces opposite of each other are solved solid if you just do a R or R'.
The Casual Cuber. if you look at the other stickers, after making the two opposite faces he would have gotten the R2 F2 R2 PBL case, so he held one of the faces towards him to instead make it R2 U2 F2 which sped it up just a bit
hey j perm what is your main cube for comps
