Really. Isn’t it a pain to live with this head set. My recent bike is with external cabling. But it’s for commuting. So it’s a different bike category all together.
I find this a bit of a misleading video. The head set spacers for both bikes look totally identical even though I realize there may be small dimensional differences and they do insert the same way. The new frame is I believe only 30 grams lighter as advertised not 300g. I've seen the new S5 (2024) frame and fork actually weight and was surprised to see it totalled a few grams more than my 2019 S5 Disc frame and fork which I weight when I built it up in 2019. I too thought the 2024 was lighter as per advertising until then. I suspect there are always manufacturing variances frame to frame. So a bit of smoke and mirrors there. Still a fab bike, I would not trade mine for any other bike.
For the newest model here we have a 30mm tyre that blows out to 32mm on those Roval wheels. I would think you may be able to squeeze a 34 in there but it would be close!
Seen the S5 in person and it does look cool, especially in the smaller sizes
I have a 2019, the spacers on the head set work exactly the same. Just need longer bolts.
Topissima
I had the "old frame type" S5 it was an absolute rocket of a bike. Loved the bike. It now sits at Surrey Hills Cycleworks in 3 pieces 😞
Sad times. It’s a bike I would love to try out
Mmmh, I don't rate the R8 in pictures or in real life, so it's a no from me 😀
Controversial! I like it
Have heard nothing but horror stories about that front end head set
Do you think this is with the old or the new frame?

I bought my 2019 S5 in 2019. I have never had a problem. 8,700 mikes later. Well one new Bottom Bracket. I also have mechanical shifting. Saved money.
Still a tank of a bike but that is a massive weight reduction on the new one! If they could make a 7kg S5, they would have an untouchable superbike.
Maybe next gen!

Curious to know how you think it rides. Good handling, comfortable?
I unfortunately haven’t had the chance to ride the bike
Oh. So now the forks getting proprietary too😂😅
Everything now days!
What is the maximum tire size that can be installed?

@@cyclingunboxed Thank you
Cervélo and Roval wheels. No fucking way!!!!!!
I was waiting for someone to pick up on this 😂
Bike is stunning and incredibly fast, also incredibly out of my reach lol.
It’s definitely at the higher end of the price range
