Same here 25 years ago, a highschool friend askme if I knew Deftones and I laugh and say something like I dont knowthem but sound very old like in the 50s. Next day he gaveme a mixtape whith all Adrenaline and Around the Fur and some Coal Chamber songs, I was inmediately hook and from that day to now Deftones is my favorite band of all time..
We used to play this and bored and 7 word's in a band back in high school! I miss those day's man! This whole fucking album is killer! Not one filler track on it!🤘

Root in my opinion, is probably one of the more playful songs on the album, mostly because of the fast picking riff.
It's not a particularly hard riff to learn, it's the picking speed that can be hard to get down initially if you're not used to it.
If you've played the bridge and ending of the song wrong the entire time up to now, it'll be an adjustment

I didn't know this tune! Great one! Deftones was always way ahead of the other Nu Metal bands.
I like how just about everything Stef did on Adrenaline sounds like a steam engined train about to explode off the tracks.

The character back stories are at the end
Here is the story.
The jedi and sith are back full force.
Each has a council.
War erupts because an evil sith historian is obsessed with preserving the battle between jedi and sith through her heritage.
A betrayed sith pilot (Han Solo like) and his fellow defectee wife (A scarred sexy twilek lightning caster) plot revenge from the shadows against a lower ruthless sith Lord (not the historian) so they can live out of hiding. Creating a reputable business with an SIS double agent chiss female they convince two Jedis (One Steve Blum voiced. Trust me this will sell like crazy) into helping them kill a sith Lord and blow his shipyards. They are convinced into helping after shown video feeds of sith atrocities. They, and a trooper, go rogue to help the sith lovers.
To recap you have a sith pilot, lightning girl, Steve Blum Jedi and an older female Jedi who has these rad holo antlers and native American style feather earrings all on one team to fight a lower rank sith Lord. The sith Lord is forcing the pilot and lighting caster into hiding. They also have a veteran trooper with them who always stays with the elder Jedi because he can't stop seeing visions of fallen comrades. They also have a samurai robot guy which I'll explain later.
Before the big mission they have to recruit Steve Blum's Jedi's sister and rescue her from pirates and an Alien like infection and species on a remote world. They save her and find a younger female Jedi too who is hunting the pirates for poaching.
To recap add a young Jedi female and smuggler female.
They all join up for a split battle at the end. The Jedis and sith attack on ground while the rest fight in space. (Blowing the shipyard, killing the ruthless sith and defending from aerial reinforcements)
In the end you find that the sith historian who started the war uses the SIS double agent to indirectly kill the sith who won't let the sith lovers out of hiding. Her reason being he was too ruthless.
There are 14 characters and several mini battles I could not fit here.
I cover every star wars archetype. Here are the characters summed up. I tried to draw all this but someone keeps hacking me by popping bubbles on my drawings.
Janson Heartwell: Youngish Male Jedi Pilot by Steve Blum. Master saberist after 5 year montage. Mixed race like Steph Carpenter. Married. Normal. Uses a double saber. This is the cool kid special. This character would sell a million toys. It's like Darth Maul and Spike Spiegel at once after flying X Wings.
Zaila: Older Female Jedi who was a sith pure blood awoken from Carbonite. She is wise and wears a Luke like poncho, has holographic antlers and wears a simple mask. She has feather earrings. She does not know why she was frozen in Carbonite thousands of years before but Volwen is obsessed with making her evil.
Setsuna: A younger prude female Jedi who is more brazen and overly dedicated frustrating men with her beauty accidentally. She is hunting the poachers. Dualsaber master. Lightly preachy and stalwart.
Oberon: A younger male bounty hunter. Black. He's a mandolorian defectee and is hired by the betrayed sith pilot. He's paid gratuitously to kill anyone who catches on to the betrayed sith and his wife so they can keep anonymity. He quit the Mandos because they were overly warlike siding with the empire versus the purity of the hunt.
Volwen: The Sith historian. An overly calm devisive mastermind A hole. She plunges the galaxy into war with genius stratagem. I like the idea of ring light sabers. Thrown or floating.
Prysma: A female twilek bounty hunter who is the masked sister of the twilek sith defectee lightning caster. She is aligned with the Empire and hunts the black BH for quitting the mandolorians. She's obsessed with the hunt but also Mando duty. Therein conflict arises with Oberon.
Ofora: (Steve Blum's Jedi's sister like Luke and Leia) The Jedi's sister they save is a freelance Han Solo and Leia type. She's a master pilot and smuggler. She is infected by an Alien like creature but the infection stops b4 full spread granting her unnatural strength. She can also talk to Jawas which no one understands (one serves on her ship). She does not buy into the republic but hates the empire.
Constance: The scarred twilek lightning caster defectee. She falls for Ozeezo because he is unlike other Sith. She protects him zealously after Valdec wounds him to a life of injury. She's mostly quiet but occasionally sarcastic. Around Ozeezo she smiles a lot.
Sol Ozeezo: The Sith Pilot rogue. I want to voice this guy bad lol. Valdec betrays Sol's master in an opening scene massacre. He's supposed to recruit Sol because he sucks at the saber but slays in the skies but wounds him thinking he's dead. Sol lives because he hides Constance long enough for her not to get murdered which leads to his crippled state.
Xinix: An older masked republic trooper in custom snow trooper gear. He often sees ghosts of his fallen comrades but the older Jedi female calms him with the force and guidance. He has an alien dog that's made of gelatin like matter. Valdec tries to flee at the end after Constance whoops his ass waking from Carbonite on her own. Xinix sneaks on his ship and forces it to hyperdrive into the sun surrounded by all his dead comrades as ghosts. Maybe he coulda lived or maybe he was ready to go.
Volin: A masked sith pursuer who is the physical presence of the mastermind historian and also crude lover. This guy is another toy seller. His mask is just ninja like and his nearly silent demeanor echoes Maul.
Valdec: The ruthless sith who is responsible for wounding the sith pilot. His master poisoned him slowly over and over after letting him recover just to erase sentiment. He's half zabrak and twilek. Zaila was his original master before he went to the dark side. The same evil master who poisons him later, kills another student on a mission before corrupting him. Zaila was so defeated by the ruthless murder she loses focus and they get away.
Calixta: SIS republic and imperial double agent who tries to minimize casualties. She is who Volwen sends to convince the Jedis to kill Valdec indirectly. I imagine her chiss like Thrawn. She's good at saying things to immediately dismiss doubt like a master actress. Her greatest struggle is how she used to play checkers with a native little girl on a backwater planet before her commanding officer evaporates the continent. Her duty makes it impossible to complain but it eats her up.
Lou: Another crowd favorite. He's a half human and half droid samurai ninja with cameras for eyes. His story is that he's made a Sith and his brother is made a pilot. His brother is murdered by imperial royalty because his flight academy scores are sky high. His brother crashes in an exercise and dies after being poisoned. Everyone makes fun of him and calls him a coward. Lou shuts down which angers the Sith because he can teleport small objects short distances as a unique force ability. They're using him to build weapons and reactors. They have to strap him to a chair and drug induce him to get him to teleport warheads and stuff before putting him in storage. Ozeezo breaks him out saying
"Your brother wasn't a coward. He was poisoned. Would you like to know who?"
Then Lou just wakes up and he's crazy pissed. Like gutteral voice murder everyone Steve Blum has to tell him to chill for comic relief out crazy pissed.
The story is like The Winter Soldier with tons of action. There are tons of characters masked and unmasked. Old and young. I want it to take place anywhere after Rey or during SWTOR. Rey can be in it. I love Rey and daisy. I want it directed by Genndy Tartovkovsky. I'd like the dead avengers cast to do the voices. After that throw some people you wanna save in there.
