I own a RTV 900 2006 with Camso tracks (Tatoo has they called it proviously) that I use in snow only, although they are four season. I live in Quebec (north east Canada) where the snow quantity is similar to what we see in this video. This setup is unstopable. I hauled 16 foot logs in deep snow with it. I clean trails for snowmobiles. I do all kind of work and rides, never got stuck. One thing to mention is the RTV have a differential lock for the rear weels. That makes it virtually impossible for it to lose traction in (almost) any circumstances. The secret here is that the ground clearence is so high that the snow is packing under the tracks before it can pack under the floor. The only down side is that it is very slow. But for work or to make sure you will get where you need to go, it's the perfect setup.
So cool, guys! We own the x900 tired version. Now she has 4,000 miles and almost 3,000 hours. Nothing but rough, mountain, pasture, mud hours! Bought it in 14. Best workhorse we’ve ever owned; on the third set of tires - heavy machine. Use it daily for work and fun. But if you stick it, you need a truck or winch to pull it out. Great video! Ha!
Great machine! I have a Yamaha Viking VI with tracks...usually get through hell and back...but I got stuck in the woods on my property the other day...a good 4 ft. deep and hit a real soft spot and sunk right down. Tracks would turn but couldn't go anywhere. Had to dig all around then clear out the compressed snow underneath so I had clearance to move. Winches I don't think would have got me out on their own! Lesson learned...carry a shovel or two... long walk back to the garage to get the damn shovels! I like that RTV-X1100C for the fact that you can add a snowblower, sweeper or a blade. Might have to trade my Yammy in one day soon!
FWIW, I have had Camso tracks on my x1100C for 3 years now - - absolute game changer. Highly recommend the hand throttle to keep engine RPMs up regardless of pedal pressure. Also, have had to make adjustments for front implements as the tracks stick out more than the wheels.
Those diesels are very strong. More snowmobile clubs need to start realizing the grooming potential these units have. Turbo models are available too. Tracks are an incredible upgrade and offer so much more.
I was torn between the Kubota 1100C and the Can-An Defender DPS Cab for the farm. I love my Kubota tractor but I ended up going with the Can-Am. The speed and cab features of the Can-Am sold me. Still love the Kubota 1100C
Own the identical side by side but without the tracks. Use if for snowplowing with the Kubota v-plow awesome work machine pushed a ton of snow this Winter
I have a Arctic cat prowler 1000 with tracks. It will go just about anywhere I point it. I do off-road recovery with it. Pulling snowmobiles out of tree holes and even cars out of the snow up in the mountains.
I have had one for 4 years now with a 72inch v plow. It works great for plowing and can push some major snow. I am in CT we get some wet stuff here i have gotten it stuck trying to push out sidewalks were the city trucks have throw there stuff. I also use it at my lake in upstate NY and can load the bed with wood and go up an high angle hill with ease
I have a Kubota RTV 900 - but no snow around my area! Love the way that thing gets around in that much snow! Yea the diesel is kind of like a tractor - but it gets the job done!
HAVE A KUBOTA UTV AND SKID STEER SSV75 2019. BOTH ARE THE LOUDEST/NOISIEST PIECE OF EQUIPMENT I'VE EVER OWNED, AND I'VE HAD MANY OF EACH FOR MY LINE OF WORK. EAR MUFFS ARE A MUST. IN THE SKID STEER, FOREGET HEARING THE RADIO. NOT A PLEASANT WORK OR PLAY ENVIRONMENT
I have the same set up. Love the video. Love the fact that you said slowest thing we have, but another level of fun. So true. I have installed a stereo with subs and LED bars. How have the tracks done for you?
If you have a real need for speed in the snow and deep deep pockets you can get a Ripsaw. Their out of ME. Top speed in their two seat model is around 70mph..That's really hauling on tracks! The cab is closed, with insulation, heat and shock mounted so it's comfortable to ride in. The power is a Chevy engine push around 400hp. As I said if you have the money they will build a custom unit for you. I have an old Kubota 900 RTV. It ain't fast, but with tracts it goes great in the snow. I use it to haul cord wood.
We are all little kids with machines and love the video wish we would get that much snow in sudbury and love the kubota its awesome and i dont know if its just me but theres something with crossing deep water with an atv that is awesome.
First of all, I am a tracks guy. Every thing with tracks will turn me on...🤐 I think you gave this Kubota justice and a honest opinion. Just rethink your trip to Mexico with it, the dump box is nice but not big enough to hide a entire Mex family!
@@MainvilleATV Have got friends who think 100mph is slow! They don't understand me when l'm on about crawling about at 5mph and having fun, a friend has a Unimog 406 that does around 80yds in an hour, what a blast!!
As an HD mechanic, Im far more comfortable working on hydraulic drives than anything else. Its not for everyone in that regard though. Nothing like hydro-static for power!
Awesome work machine but i could feel the pain you were in throughout the whole video. You would need a case of beer and a good stereo for that thing to be really fun.
How long does it take to install tracks on to your Kabota? Is it hard? Do you have a video on how to install tracks? I have a 2022 Kabota XG850 side by side. I just ordered tracks like yours. Liked your video.👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I've installed tracks on other machines, not this one. I can tell you if you have the right kit from a reputable brand and some basic tools you'll get it done no issue.
I bought one of these 2 years ago, we use it daily on our farm. Yes, there’s a side mirror kit for these you get from Kubota. I installed them on mine, in fact, I have every accessory now, except for these tracks. I even have the heated steering wheel lol. These are fantastic machines, my uncle has one as well. In terms of utility, they are the closest thing to the old Universal or CJ jeeps of the 40s, 50s, and 60s (I should know, one owned quite a few of those too), although they can’t go down the street at 60mph (at least not in stock form, and maybe not at all). But I have other vehicles for speed, for work I wouldn’t trade my Kubota RTV 1100C for anything else.
How comfortable is the ride and how are the seats? I've considered purchasing one to snowblow the driveway and rink but with 2 back surgeries and at 35 to 40k I'm not looking to get something that I dread driving.
You put a snowblower on that, you will have a true no fu$%^&*# around snow tank. God I want one !!! That's is the machine, you smile when the weatherman says up to two feet of snow in a single drop. With the toys you guys play with, if you are willing to adopt, let me know, haha. Stay safe!!!
I live in the mountains and 2 foot plus snowfalls are a norm. How would it handle heavy snowfalls and want to use to pull a groomer. Also where did you get the Tracks? Kubota dealer? Thanks
As far as snowfall it floats very well. As long as it isnt feet of powder and no crust I suspect it wouldnt have an issue at all. As far as pulling a small groomer with a UTV goes, I think this would be the best option. A couple clubs in my area do exactly that. EDIT: Yes, Huckabones Kubota works with Camso
In this case, snowmobiles are different, the track pulls snow in to keep some components cool. Less so on a bogie wheel style track than a full winter track set up but it will stop the sitting water from freezing. Most modern snowmobiles use the track to throw snow at a heat exchanger in the tunnel to cool the hot engine coolant.
Hey Mainville! This video helped me understand more about the RTV1100. I just ordered one after some research of different brands/models from the Kubota dealership near our farm. While these tracks are cool, I doubt I would need them where I am in Mid Michigan with the occasional winter trip up north. But it's good to know how the unit performs with them in case I change my mind. Take care and ride safe...
Thanks I have been thinking about this set up myself. What was the highest average speed you could see you doin with it. I know it's slow, but 20 to 25km average was what i was at least hoping for.
It's really difficult to get the RTX 1100c (or any RTX) stuck even without the tracks. I can't imagine how cool the tracks are. I'd go with all the confidence in the world.... and an extra 5 gallon can of diesel! =)
Man I wish I had that much snow... Dying for snow here in eastern maine. 2 inches of hard crusted snow right now... Can't ride my sled, it's been over 2 weeks.
so much torque on these things....let off the throttle too quickly and it will throw you through the windshield! Amazing snow capability, just dont get it stuck
Love the set up! I've waited too long for JD to offer their 🐊 Gator 🐊, with a snowblower, and Trax.Trax they have; snowblower they don't. Will this unit plow with Trax? Even with the 🐊 Gator 🐊, depends who you talk to; some say you can plow with Trax, others say you need tires (only) in order to plow!?!
There is nothing “side by side” about a Kubota RTV. It’s 100% a utility work machine. If you want a side by side from Kubota, the only option is the XG850 Sidekick. It’s actually designed to be driven on off-road type trails and go fast.
We've actually taken the sidekick out for a spin on one of our local club rides in a separate video. Was a fun little unit. Thanks for watching! - Cass
Wicked video. As for towing,, I’ve towed close to 2,000lbs with my Arctic Cat diesel and that Kubota has a significantly larger engine so I would imagine it is capable of reliably towing substantially more than the manufacturer would suggest
