I agree 100% with all this. I find animation very time consuming, but a lot of fun. I've been doing it for 11 years and never looked back. I've seen a bunch of animators who are doing it solely to get big or to get recognized, and it takes away the fun that animation offers. I honestly believe animation is the best thing to go into, and my life would never be the same. I'm glad you're addressing these tips. They're very helpful to any beginners into this (:
I hate my art........Im only draw on paper......sometime,I almost give up on my dream to be an animator...........my parents also trying to stop me to draw.......But.......I will never give up!!!!!!!😣
You can keep going ! With everything you draw you will get a little bit better. This way, at some point your art will be so amazing that it'll convince everyone. Its just logic.
this is the 5th time I saw this in my recommended, and i keep learning... This video is like TH-cam's way of saying, "Do something, it's ok if your drawings suck now, they'll get better eventually and HERE'S PROOF"
Recently I went to Disneyland and decided to check out this thing called “Animation Academy”. It’s basically where artists or employees teach you how to draw certain Disney/Pixar characters. Afterwards, my mom and I saw a (I guess professional) artist/animator, and we decided to ask her questions about what I should do to reach my ultimate dream job as an animator. The VERY FIRST thing she recommended was drawing everyday, and let me tell you, it really does help. Den isn’t kidding, it really helps! I may have only been doing it for a week or two, but I’ve already started noticing some difference in my art. It isn’t a huge improvement, but I am noticing slow improvements as I go. So, in short, DRAW LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW!
When I first joined DeviantArt, I was pretty terrible at.. everything art related. But two and a half years later I've improved a lot. I'd like to believe that part of the reason why I improved so rapidly is because of all of the feedback and exposure I've had since then
Beginner artist here. These tips are really helpful, and i honestly hope one day I’ll be able to draw something with much more detail and glamor. Thank you for these tips!
Ahah I draw in my sketchbook, my class looks through it. "Oh cool I like the colour scheme! Wait is this a creeper in human for-" "HEY THAT'S MINE I GTG BYEEEEE"
JulietteGlam MSP Mean? Ohh I think to got a misunderstanding, I don’t hate guys, I just hate drawing them cause I am bad at it, sorry if that came off as rude.... I’m not trying to be.
Oof, now you know why I don’t have notifications enabled. Oh well if I miss out on something it’s better than drowning in notifications about people making posts am I right?
this video made me have sense to draw again. Just yesterday, my friend told me i'd start animating as well. I had difficulties. But it all ended well. Thanks for an inspirational video!
Quick Q: was this another 24 Hr video? Still looks good, just curious. Also, thanks for the tips. I have wanted to start up a Comic book Company (and a video game company later on), and this may help me.
Thank you CypherDen for this kinda of video! I got a friend and he wants to be an artist too, but he's don't know how to become and I recommended your video to him. So I really hope your tips gonna help him a bit! ^^ Also I love your videos and content, so I can't wait to see more of it! So I just wanna wish you good luck with your stuff :3
The second step she said “ draw every day” Me : already on it! No really in class i draw on everything thats why i have binder paper in my binder at all times
watching tutorials & speedpaints helped me soooo much when I was still learning! and yeah of course references, how are people still convinced that using them would be cheating???? it's normal!
My main problem now is the Schedule. My school time are 9 hrs per day and i only work on Sat which means my only free time is Sunday. How am i suppose to improve if i only have 1 day of freetime? Sure i can draw right after school but i am so damn tired and exausted.
LightBluly don't worry. I have to stay back at school for CCA on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. I have tuition on wednesdays and thursdays. Saturday is FULL of tuition. Sunday tuition. But I simply draw at night or doing my breaks
I think its not about how long you draw a day, but that you do it regulary. You can just draw ten to 15 minutes a day and it will still help. I'm not really good at drawing, but that part is just the same with basically anything you learn. And also you dont need to finish a drawing every day
Thank you so much for this video, I just changed my major to fine arts and I have always liked art but never had the courage to practice it. The feelings that I gather while looking at art is amazing. Anyways thank you for the tips!!!
Me too, I can draw animals fine. TH-cam videos like this one have inspired me to start trying and I just got a new sketchbook from a contest so I'm starting today^^
The only thing i can draw, a circle with a long line attatched with 2 lines at the top and at the bottom having 2 leg sticks with stick feet and circle hands.
i once tried making a character out of "imagination" (more like pure emotions) and i can proudly say it's the best art i have ever made! So the only comment i can give! drawing from reference is really important but sometimes you just have to "let your emotion and, imagination come out" even if its only just a few times!
Yeah just start. You can start practicing by tracing, copying, observing other people's drawings, and real life. Pretty soon you'll be able to draw the basics. Good luck and have fun
When I started drawing i started drawing cartoons and I kept doing it for a while. And the more I did the more I find different ways drawing them that makes my art improve! This is also a very helpful video I might as well subscribe:D
Thank you so much! I like making comics, it’s my hobby. I usually do stick drawing but i don’t really want to because i feel like it isn’t really original. I want to find my own style. And these tips really helped me, i’m going to start looking. This has brough my motivation up so once again thank you ^^
I’ve been drawing since I was little, well when I started I was copying diary of the wimpy kids characters, after that I started reading big Nate and I decided, hey I wanna make my own original characters, so I did and they started off meh-ish. Then going to 5th I started making more of a longer head, the chin was a bit skinnier and eyes were big, soon going to 6 and 7 grade, I started changing the look, both eyes were inside the head, the head was more big but not too big, and I added more expressions, now in the present day!!! I’m currently in 8th grade and I started making more detailed faces, I made a variety of different chins and foreheads, I was experimenting with lots of stuff, i made my characters more detailed( not to detailed) I tried making them look like a mixture of a person from a comic book and a cartoon, but while in my years of drawing, I’ve been experiencing doubt about my drawings and characters, I seen other people drawings and they were WAY more better than my art. During my 7 grade year, I gave up drawing for the first year of that grade. But when I met someone( who I won’t say due to stranger danger and legal action) that person changed the way I see things, my mind became for imaginative, I started drawing/ sketching some more, I drew characters like thanos( my best detailed art to date) Moana, the demogorgan, captain America, etc. Lately I’ve been working on two comic books , 1 a space theme and the other a well......... I guess a adventure type? Still not sure about that one and if u made it to the end of this comment section... CONGRATS!!!!!! your reward is now a 🍪 Enjoy
I’m teaching myself to draw by copying Rick and Morty characters. At first they started off meh, but wow, I’ve learned so much about making body movements look more fluid, how clothing wrinkles and moves, etc. I started drawing them because they’re goofy to begin with, and not ultimately that hard to draw. But now, I have more confidence to try drawing more realistic pictures and while they aren’t perfect, they look better than I could have thought.
Another tip: Draw with pens or markers, It makes you not want to mess up since you can’t erase anything and makes you concentrate more. It really worked for me, My strokes are cleaner and better Also watch “Butch Hartman” on youtube, he is great
I draw very sketchy with my pencil to get the proportion right. Then draw with a pen on top of it. This way, i can less afraid on messing things up since the drawing is a mess lol. Btw, sometimes you can also get spontanious idea.
Honestly your tips don’t just relate with artists and animators. It relates very well with anything that people would want to aspire to. Your tips could really work well with how I want to be a musician. It works well with how a someone would dream to be great at sports, people want to improve their diet and many other else. Thank you for that!
This really helped, because this channel is brand-new and is going to be for animation. I really thought this was informative and this gave me motivation for animating. Thanks for the big help. Appreciate it lots :)
Thank you so much! Since I was younger I always wanted to be an animator. When I was in high school I told myself to draw everyday to get better and learn how to be more creative. After drawing for a couple weeks I grew frustrated because I was not able to draw from my head. I was only able to copy and draw from pictures. I then told myself that I wasn’t good enough because I would see all these other artists on social media. I then went to college and majored in communications which is good but I’m not really sure what jobs that I would like with it. Now I’ve done more research on animation and wished that I would have majored in art. I am now going to master in art so hopefully then I will be content. 😊

This video is like TH-cam's way of saying, "Do something, it's ok if your drawings suck now, they'll get better eventually and HERE'S PROOF"
The video we were all waiting for!
TheMightyPancake I want to be an animator too.I hope you don't give up and i hope i dont too.Keep going!Good luck!!!😊👍

When I first joined DeviantArt, I was pretty terrible at.. everything art related. But two and a half years later I've improved a lot. I'd like to believe that part of the reason why I improved so rapidly is because of all of the feedback and exposure I've had since then

My main problem now is the Schedule. My school time are 9 hrs per day and i only work on Sat which means my only free time is Sunday. How am i suppose to improve if i only have 1 day of freetime?
Sure i can draw right after school but i am so damn tired and exausted.
If you're truely dedicated there is no such thing as not enough time
*glares at over at horrible sleep schedule and total playtime on some games*
LightBluly don't worry.
I have to stay back at school for CCA on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. I have tuition on wednesdays and thursdays. Saturday is FULL of tuition. Sunday tuition. But I simply draw at night or doing my breaks
Just draw when you're supposed to be sleeping. XD
try to draw in free time at school or with a group project =D
I think its not about how long you draw a day, but that you do it regulary. You can just draw ten to 15 minutes a day and it will still help. I'm not really good at drawing, but that part is just the same with basically anything you learn. And also you dont need to finish a drawing every day
it's been four years and you're still just as inspiring

The only thing I can't draw good, a person
The only thing I can draw; A stick figure.
I started practicing people last year, and BOI THEY LOOK SO MUCH BETTER NOW
Me too, I can draw animals fine. TH-cam videos like this one have inspired me to start trying and I just got a new sketchbook from a contest so I'm starting today^^
The only thing i can draw, a circle with a long line attatched with 2 lines at the top and at the bottom having 2 leg sticks with stick feet and circle hands.
Same all I can draw are backgrounds
"you're a mosaic of all the different things you like"
that means i'm 70% cartoons, 13% pokemon, 15% art and 2% all the other stuff like your channel?
Pokemon is also a cartoon.
You're 83% cartoons then.
i once tried making a character out of "imagination"
(more like pure emotions) and i can proudly say it's the best art i have ever made!
So the only comment i can give!
drawing from reference is really important but sometimes you just have to "let your emotion and, imagination come out"
even if its only just a few times!
I wish I could do the fan art thing but I can’t draw
JUST DO IT

Yeah just start. You can start practicing by tracing, copying, observing other people's drawings, and real life. Pretty soon you'll be able to draw the basics. Good luck and have fun

CONGRATS!!!!!! your reward is now a 🍪
Enjoy
I’m teaching myself to draw by copying Rick and Morty characters. At first they started off meh, but wow, I’ve learned so much about making body movements look more fluid, how clothing wrinkles and moves, etc. I started drawing them because they’re goofy to begin with, and not ultimately that hard to draw. But now, I have more confidence to try drawing more realistic pictures and while they aren’t perfect, they look better than I could have thought.
Thnx for the cookie

Another tip:
Draw with pens or markers,
It makes you not want to mess up since you can’t erase anything and makes you concentrate more.
It really worked for me,
My strokes are cleaner and better
Also watch “Butch Hartman” on youtube, he is great
Mariano Cocar yeah, but when you do mess up, you have that mess up on your paper forever
Mariano Cocar thanks for the advice
Here.....have a slice of pizza🍕
Mariano Cocar
That's also how I worked on my writing
I draw very sketchy with my pencil to get the proportion right. Then draw with a pen on top of it. This way, i can less afraid on messing things up since the drawing is a mess lol. Btw, sometimes you can also get spontanious idea.
Honestly your tips don’t just relate with artists and animators. It relates very well with anything that people would want to aspire to. Your tips could really work well with how I want to be a musician. It works well with how a someone would dream to be great at sports, people want to improve their diet and many other else. 😊
This is most of the things I do to improve my art💕💕
I kinda like this new style more, not sacrificing too much quality and increasing the quantity of videos you can upload in a month.
