Hope you had a great Valentine's dinner. A man who cooks! My fantasy! Enjoy your time with your sis. Your project looks like it could be really adorable and a satisfying "road stitch". Who knows...the reno may be complete by your return.

Thanks for sharing your projects with us. Anna don't beat yourself up so, you are amazing giving up your precious time to post for us. I can relate to your search, I was the same this week looking for some woven lables that I'd put in a safe place when we moved and after spending the day unpacking every box and draw still no sign of of them. after a good nights sleep I woke up and a light bulb came on in my brain 😄and lo and behold I remembered where they were 😄I'm a happy bunny now.

I can totally relate to the journal keeping. For the past several years I have started a day planner with the best intentions only to end up with blank weeks and months. The only saving me this year is that I am keeping track of daily temperatures for a cross stitch temperature chart. Maybe this year I can actually keep up with it 🤞🤞😁

I loved your needle book too. I think as a take along sewing kit, I would leave mine flat, as the square you started with and add a back. Then it would lie flat on my lap in the vehicle. I would add some of my tiny applique pins in a page as well, and pages for some floss. 🧵💕 I also have to tell you about my extra lucky find at my swap meet at our area's community center. I found a set of patterns with fabrics from a quilt hop that some person decided not to do. In her stash of untouched kits were a number of Silvia Pippen applique and sashiko block kits! I was so excited to find these! They are kits from the book of hers that I already have that is my main inspiration to learn Sashiko stitching! The Pandemic has changed the lives of all of us and so many survivors are selling secondhand craft supplies from their loved ones for pennies on the dollar. She was so happy to have found someone that truly wanted them. Happy Sewing and Aloha

I so enjoy you, Anna, as my brain functions similarly to yours, and this is such a validation for me! It makes me laugh out loud when you explain your thought process, and it makes complete sense to me. Your smile is always a welcome sight, thank you!!

Also, Anna - don’t carry any threads across that basted seam. I carry threads (maybe a bit too far) so I’d get myself in trouble at that basted seam. 😅. Love that you’re using your sewn hexies. It was because of you that my SIL and I joined that hexie project during Covid, loved the weekly challenges. I’m trying to plan projects to take to a retreat next month. I get home from our RV trip less than a week before I leave, so I need to do some thinking! I just finished embroidery on a Crabapple Hill pattern. Not finished finished, but all that I’m doing. It’s The Mystery of The Salem Witches’ Quilt Guild. Love it but I’ll never do all of Panel #1, let along the other three (?or more) panels. I cut it off after the 4th witch, finished the embroidery on the witches, will make a pillow, and call it done! That’s one retreat project. 😊

My Forest Friends patterns arrived yesterday - and they are so cute! I may trace or photocopy a couple of the patterns so I can make doubles of certain ones. Before I left home, I finished my last hexie of the weekly Sal. I only did one per week, and will piece them all together when I get back from our winter house in June. I want to see what you do with yours! Hope you had a fun weekend!

Love the forest animals..and Kathy Schmitz. Have done several pieces of hers. I got a journal that my mom had written years after she had passed…It was like a visit from her. And it had answered a couple of questions I had that never was about to find out. She went so suddenly that felt like so many things were unanswered. Now I know and feel at peace. So a journal is awesome. Thanks for the visit enjoy your day❤

Your take on a journal is what I had decided to do this year, but try to find a journal that doesn't have dates and calendars and expected to-do spaces in it was like trying to find hen's teeth. I finally settled on a blank journal made of recycled paper that will also tolerate watercolor. So my journal can have writing in it and painting in it and whatever I choose...........AND in my time frame........because, yes, life happens and before I know it too much time has gone by and I haven't kept it up and there are way too many blank DATED pages staring me in the face!!!!!!! It's not that I don't have anything planned in my life, it's just that I might not have the time to record everything that I've accomplished. Kathy Schmitz forest animals are absolutely the cutest things. Enjoy the time with your sister. Blessings to you and G.

I like adding a cotton pocket on the inside front and back of the actual book when I make a needle book that’s where I put my scissors, threader and even and extra package of needles. I’d almost be tempted next time to sew your hexie onto a rectangular piece of fabric rather than a square one. But I know you were working with what you had already prepped. Have a good sister weekend. Make sure that there isn’t a Brutus at the Pioneer Quilts stitch along…it’s the Ides of March🤣🧐😂

I was waiting for the next Stitch Roadies video to ask if you've done any work on your Hexies lately so this has answered my question. I'm just waiting for some paper pieces to arrive as I want to EPP some House (Prism) shapes. I know I can cut them out of vinyl and cards but want to save my hands and spend the time on other things! I saw a photo of the shapes put together and liked how simple it looked yet had a job tracking down template suppliers! Now find another special birthday of a friend's in May so another card/gift to make! Like the Hexies needlecraft and pincushion. It's time I put some of mine together.🙂
