[ Experiment 8.10] Mud, pure water and saltwater
Liquid clay mud is poured into a glass of pure water. The clay disperses and the water becomes cloudy. Some of the same mud is poured into a glass of saltwater. The clay remains aggregated underwater and appears to be more solid in saltwater than in air. Salt binds clay particles underwater.
