That's a really ridiculous claim. If a Kpop group became popular around the world by adding English lyrics, do you think singers from all countries would become popular if they added English lyrics? Some Kpop idols were popular regardless of their English lyrics. After seeing the global success of some Kpop groups, I saw that other Asian groups or singers who were famous in their countries tried to enter the Billboard Hot 100 by releasing English songs, but they completely failed. Other Asian singers also failed with English albums. I've seen that happen often.

To be honest, someone always has distorted analysis and jealousy, so there's no development. Culture is a natural spreading phenomenon..Culture is not done overnight. If the country's long-standing recognition or the quality of content is not guaranteed, people around the world will never be interested. Culture is that people from many countries enjoy only the cultural recognition, the quality of content, and fun that has been accumulated for a long time. Most countries are already investing in culture, and rich wealthy countries will have been more popular than Korea. For example, Japan has set up a dedicated cultural organization called Cool Japan in the government. A few years later, the Japanese media says Cool Japan failed. Speaking of the media's claim, the rich countries in the world of culture should have been popular with cultural contents several times more than Korea.

You’ll never be smth significant defaming by “gov leading the way”. Japanese paid in culture much more than Korean by cool Japan project, but I never saw single Taiwanese claiming that

To be fair, much of Korea's success was driven by Samsung.
On the music side, Mnet was the music channel owned by Samsung. Also, they are responsible for creating MAMA and KCON. Not sure who helped JYP, SM and YG launch (music labels) though.
On the film side, Samsung was the driver there as well. They have a cinema chain in Korea and were part of Dreamworks in the US.
Not really sure of the TV production houses on the TV side. I think some of it might have been accidental success ie Autumn in my Heart was just a regular production on the government owned TV channel.
