    How is the low end torque? When you are shifting down from 5th to 4th gear and encounter a bad road hump, does this bike pickup in 3rd or 4th gear or do you need to drop to 2nd gear? Lots of users have complained about this aspect for KTM ADVs

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Low end torque is low. It’s a rev happy engine and it delivers when revved. The number of gears to drop depends on how fast the rider wants to accelerate back to speed. And like mentioned in the video the 250 is a busy motorcycle and rewards being busy. I got comfortable and learnt to ride the machine within 10-15 mins. If one approaches this motorcycle with an open mind to adapt their riding style to extract the optimum from the characteristics of the motorcycle, then the ride will be enjoyable.

    • @abhimanyukaul8754
      @abhimanyukaul8754 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Since this one is a performance engine .. As per my experience, this motor responds a little different from other bikes ... you'll have to get your hands on it .. For your ease , try to keep 10-12 kmph in 1st gear .. 2nd gear will comfort you till 25 kmph .. In city conditions, you don't need to go beyond 4th gear as u'll get a good 55 kmph ..!
      Low end torque is definitely low and it's totally upto the rider skills to keep up with that but this bike will never disappoint in overtaking situations .. It might sound a bit immature but this motor will definitely save you in those situations when there was just 1 sec difference that saved your life(Don't recommend this 😀) .. Simply, the more you revv, the more power it delivers.

    Nice review! How would the comfort levels of this bike compare to its Duke 250 sibling and the BMW G310R? Asking about the nakeds because I don't think the KTM Adv 250 is the comfiest, so which is the better pick of the 3?

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! I like the KTM seat for both the firmness and the flat contour. The firmness helps massively on long riding days and the flat portion helps the rider slide back and forth to relieve any pressure points on the butt. The Scram and the Xpulse seats are bad because they are U shaped and the rider ends up in only one position, at the lowest point in the U. The G310 is better but the 250ADV has the best seat by far.

  • @venkateshs3367

    Very good reviews post 6500 rpm does it feel annoying ur pegs ? Could we able to ride 6500 to 8000 rpm without any stress ?

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks.
      The vibes are not annoying. The rider can feel it but causes no distraction or discomfort. In fact after a few hundred kms, it’s likely that the rider will stop noticing it.
      And this motorcycle is very happy between 6 - 8k rpm. So cruising between 100-130 kmph is possible.

  • @NikhilKumarM

    This is arguably the best 250 cc ADV in the Indian market. The new V-Strom SX maybe close but disappointed that the fuel tank is only 12L.

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Vee is quite heavier and bigger that the 250 KTM so it’s hard to compare. Although I’ll say that the KTM suspension is firmer than the Vee. Though the travel is about the same I think.

    Wanted to know a few things regarding the KTM Adv 250. The below pointers are as per feedbacks received from several other users.
    1. Few complaint about the bike starting issues, if not used for a even a week then it get’s discharged.
    2. Power issue for climbing hills and ghats.
    3. Issues with rear suspension.
    4. Due to low end torque, machine gets hot very frequently.
    5. Not enough bite offered by the brakes
    6. Vibrations if any
    If you can share me your experience on the above points then it will help me alot in my decision making process.

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      #1. Haven't tried.
      #2. Not a troque'y bike, need to tap down, lacks the grunt.
      #3. What issues? It is stiffer for sure.
      #4. That... Supposedly, every KTM does.
      #5. Get better brake pads, stock ones lasts about 4K if used off-roads and possibly doubles if only used for touring on hwys.
      #6. One can feel some vibes after 6K rpm/90+kmph speeds. No rattling though.

      When taking delivery, just check of any obvious scratches or damages and if any you may request them to rectify. Then make sure there is some petrol and then the bike starts 😀. And make sure the vehicle is registered and the Regn number has come. Thanks all.

    How is it when compared to honda highness cb 350 in terms of refinement and vibrations.. I know both are different machines, one is an adventure and the other one is a tourer.

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No vibes in either. Being lighter and having a revvy short stroke engine, the 250ADV feels smoother and refined. Hard to compare these two. Quite different genres.
      That said, if there is no preference on the genre, the 250ADV is more versatile.

    Should i settle with 250 Adv or push to 390 Adv? I'm not a frequent bike changer. I owned a bullet 500 for almost 4+ years. Annoyed with the vibrations. I wana feel the ride pleasure. I'm not an off roader. I prefer good roads so i can enjoy riding. I never go beyond 110 kmph. But i prefer good electronics in my bike. As i come from a vintage motorcycle. The reason I'm keenly interested on Adv segment is, i believe its the future. Considering the Indian road conditions. Please advice 😇

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! If budget permits then the 390ADV is the way to go. It is outstanding in city and highways and broken roads and pretty good on bad stuff as well plus it’s got a bunch of electronic safety features. If I was in a spot and had to replace my Vstrom and my Xpulse with a single motorcycle, I would go for the 390ADV. Best wishes. Cheers!

      Hi! Happy to hear that you want to get into motorcycling. Best wishes.
      The KTM 250 ADV is light and easily manoeuvrable but tall and the seat height is above average, so ride one to check for your personal comfort.
      And I suggest you also ride the Scram 411 which can give you a comparison of the main choices in the similar price and style bracket.
      As additional options I also suggest that you try the Meteor 350 and the CB350 too.
      Ride them all singles and doubles to get a clear understanding of each.
      This range of 4 motorcycles will give you a good base to choose the different style of motorcycles for someone your age. Cheers!

      No vibration. Very light buzz on pegs at 6,000 rpm. That’s it.
      Around 33 KMPL.

      Ride both back to back and decide what tickles you. I would chose the 250 Adv.
