Learn how to use multiple displays to extend your computer's desktop. If you have a capable video card, you can use a computer monitor or HDTV as your additional screen for digital art and graphic design tasks. This will allow you to store applications, windows, palettes, files and icons on the additional screens. Having an additional screens is incredibly helpful for multi-tasking. Display toggle for pen use on separate displays has been more comfortable for me. Maybe it’s my desk setup, since things are rather crowded and using a mouse feels cumbersome.

I cant seem to draw and use my mouse. I have a Kamvas 13 and its working as a second monitor but my pen just isnt working. It shows up on the second screen not primary one
I'm sure you've fixed the problem by now, I was have the same. To fix it I went to display setting and extended the display.
@@CRANEII yeah i think it was in my tablet display settings and it was set to the wrong screen. But yep got it working great!!
@@mxyer2605 can u explain it to me? I have similiar/same case but i dunno what to do. I click extend the display, the cursor from my mouse work on both screen but my drawing pen only work at the first screen. My pen display is the second screen, so i can draw with my pen display, how to fix this?
@@jessicaestrelia2947 thats odd. Thats pretty much what i did and it worked 😓
I had the same problem and just fixed it! Go into the tablet drivers, select working area, and then select the correct monitor!

hey man can you help me? i buy the new xp-pen 16tp 4K that conects with PC with one USB and one HDMI, the problem is that my main monitor also conects HDMI-HDMI and i only have one hdmi slot in my graphic card! My graphic is a geforce2070 Super that have 1hdmi and 3displayport slots! my monitor is a Hp27f that have 2hdmi slots and one VGA! i try the adapter VGA-Displayport and it works but it reduces dramatically the quality of the monitor, maybe HDMI-displayport works??
I'm confused, I setup to where they're separate but when I scroll down to do "extend to desktop" the option isn't there, also when I separate them no matter which one I make the main screen it only shows my applications on my tablet
my drawing tablet only works on my main display. how do i make it switch over to the other displays? i dont use wacom
can you hook up a graphic tablet to ones smart tv instead of a PC what am trying to say could you use a smart tv as a monitor as well as hook up a PC tower to a smart tv
Thank you for another great video! One question, I will be purchasing the Cintiq 16 next week, but unfortunately, the only port left I have on the GPU is a DVI-D port. Can I use the HDMI converter like you have for it as my third monitor? The other two is a Display Port for my main monitor with G-sync, and an HDMI port for my second monitor.
Yes, adapter should work.
do pen tabs work when its connected to the laptop while the laptop is connected to the TV via hdmi cable? my laptops LCD broke so you cant see what you're doing unless you connect the laptop to the TV..
Yes, it should work just like your TV when connected. However, you may want to install the drivers first.
I've had a problem with mine for such a long time, tried everything above then finally, work as the main screen - absolute - support digital ink.. I don't know why it works, but I'm on three screens again.
what if u have integrated graphic cart i mean i dont have graphic card i just have good cpu
Nearly gave up trying this until I explored my tablet's driver for a while and found out how to separate the pen's inputs from my laptop. When in doubt, just try things in the driver 'till it works lol.

I extend the displays on my laptop and XP Pen Artist 12 from the display options.
That allows me to have Photoshop running on my tablet while my laptop monitor runs PureRef with all my references.
How do u connect a third monitor to this sort of set up?

Can the graphics tablet be connected to the chassis of the desktop computer? can it be used as a main monitor? Usually the graphics tablet is used as the secondary monitor. Please someone tell me if this is possible.

In my case i work with my laptop (display 1) and display tablet (display 2), i already set my display tablet as my main display, but i can't use my stylus to draw it, and it only work to my display 1 which is my laptop. But on my laptop cursor tap it works to display 1&2. (Sorry for my english, i hope u understand). I hope you can give me an answer, i really got lost 😭

i just brought a Huion Kamvas pro 16 4k plus
i have a macbook pro retina late 2013
i was able to make them 2 separate monitors and able to make the pen to work on the tablet only.
but now, all my programs, apps and folders are on my 1st monitor (laptop (i want to keep it that way).
How do i get he apps or programs, specially photoshop or sketchbook to open on my pen display (2nd monitor)?

Great video Aaron! I have a Cintiq16, but i only use it sometimes i don't want it to be on for a long time. That's why i turn it on and off several times a day. What is the average lifespan of such a monitor for 3-4 hours per day, does switching it on and off hurt him? Thanks! Best!
It depends on the brand. I've been using my Cintiq daily for about 4 years, turning it off when not in use. There are Cintiqs that are still working after 10+ years. In rare cases, a defective unit will not make it that long, but generally they last a long time.
Thanks you for your answer Aaron! I have another question :) I am thinking about a Cintiq Pro 13. I need for only sketching. There is a tablet mode in pro models. Is this mode turn off the screen completely? I mean switch of the blacklight too? Thanks, best!
Hey aaron. Do you recommend all displays have the same size?
Nah. They can be different sizes. My Cintiq is QHD while the others are only 1080p. Doesn't cause any issues for what I do.
What if your monitor is 2160p or 4K and your tablet is 1080p, do you still set the tablet as your main display, because I want to play games too and I want to play those on my 4K monitor they even are mainly setup to run in 4K doesn't that cause problems when you switch your main monitor to be your 1080p tablet?
He only chose his Pen Display as his main display because of the QHD resolution ; while the others were 1080p.
You can set your 4K display as your main monitor.

Hey Aaron! so I just got a kamvas 20 2019 (my first tablet) and when I use my pen on it, It moves the mouse on my first monitor
how do I get rid of that, I wanna draw *sobs*

Yesterday all working fine. Today I can't get the pen to work with PS on my 2nd screen? spent 2 hours cursing until I saw the part at 9:05 but mine has 'calibrate' not mapping! Q; do you ever shut down your setup at night are leave them permanently running? I messaged Wacom but they expect you to go on a weekend vacation until they can answer you. Thanks for the video.

Windows only. Not a fan of Mac, but I used to own one in the 90s.
@@aaronrutten Ok I need help! Just bought Elements 2021, running win 10. Have issue with previous versions as well. When using any tool, say rectangle tool, if I select an area, the selection does not appear! I need to cause a "refresh" event to make it appear. For some reason this started after some windows updates. There is no answer for this and its causing me to move to Affinity Photo/designer. Any ideas?
