  • I show you how to ride the Taipei Metro (MRT). I cover the system map, popular stations for tourist sites, how to plan your trip, fare information, the 30 day TPASS, escalator etiquette, metro announcements, and transferring trains. The departure time of the Taipei Metro's first and last trains are at 6:00 AM and 12:00 AM respectively and each route is labeled by color.

    You always go extra miles in creating well-thought-out public transportation videos, even during your travels, and this is impressive! 🏆👍 This video is so detailed, and it will be very useful whenever I decide to travel to Taipei one day. It was cool hearing your conversation with the commuter, who's a foreigner but has been living in Taiwan for 5 years. 😎 Thank you for sharing this informative, detailed, and dedicated MRT video, AK! 🤗⭐

    Truly amazing step-by-step approach to use the MRT subway in Taipei, with so many lines but the name of the station 🚉 will give you a sense of direction...usually the fares are not too expensive hence no credit cards are allowed, just like other Asian countries....the toilets facilities within the stations are useful.... thanks AK for sharing this vblog with us 🎉😅

    Ken, Taipei stations are so clean looking and I noticed the people there are sharply dressed compared to people in the states. Your adventures are amazing. Thank you so much Mr. K for all the work you do. Do they have cool record stores there?😊

      @dannysvinylrainbow4852, I honestly _don't_ see any difference in clothing at all.

    • @dannysvinylrainbow4852
      @dannysvinylrainbow4852 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Neville60001 yeah that's what I see I guess we all have certain ways of looking at different clothing. I look at the kids here in America, especially Texas where I live you can go on a weekend to any mall and see most of the teenagers wearing shorts and long T-shirts looking like rags and I see the younger crowd in Taipei wearing nice jeans and expensive jackets and backpacks. It really sets the look.

    • @Neville60001
      @Neville60001 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dannysvinylrainbow4852, it may shock you to know that not everybody wants to be expensively dressed up all of the time, especially teenager. Again, from what I saw in the video, I didn't see any real difference between people in Taiwan and people in the United States or here in Canada, clothing-wise. I sure as hell _don't_ want to see anybody dressed up like the kids in the movie _Starship Troopers_ that's for sure, with *_everything_* looking like it came out of the Sears catalog.

      It puts _New York's_ system to shame; many other American cities have clean subway systems.

    14:13 Here is my answer. No credit/debit card for single tickets. But in the airport, you can pay the express train with a contactless card, i tought that also in the city you can pay with that method.

    The US could learn from Taipei, the US metro (NY and Wash, DC) are filthy stations and people get pushed off many times onto the tracks, it is just ignored by the news media. I didn't see gate jumpers in Taipei which we have a lot of at our Metros and try and ask a Metro cop for help and those ignorant a-holes won't help you. I have ridden my last metro besides in my car is safer.

      People in Taiwan have wore masks for many many years. This was something done way before Covid. In part due to air pollution, some others wish to not get others sick if they aren't feeling well and of course avoiding flu and other things like Covid.
