- This is a Christian hymn originally composed in 1897 by Enoch Sontonga, a Xhosa clergyman at a Methodist mission school near Johannesburg. The song became a pan-African liberation song and versions of it were later adopted as the national anthems of five countries in Africa including Zambia, Tanzania, Namibia and Zimbabwe after independence, and South Africa after the end of apartheid.

As a Pole, so a White European - long live Africa! I dearly love this continent. Been only once, but I really want to come again. And again and again. Colonialism unfortunately brought a terrible amount of evil to Africa, but I believe it can be fixed one day. And Africa one day shall stand as rich and prosperous as Europe or North America. Edit: I see that some think I don't know history and the way in which Africa (or at least huge parts of it) became Christian. Well, it is worthy to distinguish a difference between missionaries and colonisers, a two very different groups. In fact, many churchmen who went to the European colonies to christianise the natives opposed the exploitation and racism present there
I remember reading about how Poland helped the Haitian revolution as they opposed slavery, fighting against French colonialism. That's why there's a Polish diaspora in Haiti

@@TheIndogamer it's true! The French sent Polish soldiers there to supress the uprising. Apparently they lied that Haitians were the negative side of the conflict. But Poles realised that Haitians fought for their freedom against cruel opression. Same struggle as Poles had, but Haitians' situation was in fact a lot worse. So they switched sides and fought for ideals...
Truth is, however, that the Polish diaspora in Haiti isn't really Polish. I doubt that any of them is White and many hardly speak any Polish. I read that they treat their ancestry rather as something that distinguishes them, something to be proud of.
Well, I can only say that I'm proud of my countrymen who fought for Haitian freedom. This was arguably one of the worst colonies to live in (as a non-White). Sad that they didn't live happily ever after and the country receives more blows to this day
