I'm considering a mixed quiver. Neo 12m for light wind days, to milk that bigger wind range window, and a dice 9m as my main one. I'm just getting into surf boards, and really appreciate the big jumps. I hope it works well.

Great call, Daffes. 🤙🏽 I've been mixing my Neo and Dice kites as well. Sometimes it's hard to decide between the two, right?? -Aaron

I would like to see you guys do a dice / dice sls test on de big air end of its spectrum. It seems that all the big air riders love its capabilities but you dont seem to discuss that. Why would I chose the dice for big air/ looping istead of a evo or rebel sls. Very curious!

Great suggestion, my friend. 🤙🏽 We'll add that to our list for future videos. Good winds to you! -Aaron

What I like about the Dice is that it is more like a hybrid C - so when it is low or placed at a certain point in the wind window which is not directly above your head, it prefers to stay at that position rather than constantly nose diving down like most delta shaped kites. This is due to the large side sections of the kite that keep it more stable.
How did you find the 2022 Dice handle in this regard? Does it like to stay where it is placed (low) in the wind window without too much steering input to keep it there? How about the 2022 Neo - does it like to constantly keep pointing it's nose down, so you have to always try to counteract it and steer up?

Great questions, Peter. 🤙🏽 For reference, I've been flying the 2022 Dice SLS on the medium setting, with the smaller Click Bar on 22m lines. Same bar with the 2022 Neo SLS.
This Dice SLS shape is definitely a nod toward the early 2000s Vegas, but with a bit more user-friendliness. It stays right where I put it with very little rider input needed.
The Neo SLS feels a bit more reactive to me, but that's what I want for a fast-turning wave kite. I'm wondering how much difference it would make if I set my Dice SLS on the faster turning setting.
They're two amazing kites from two different designers. I quivered-up with the Dice SLS this season because I still prioritize kitesurfing, but I'm dusting off the twin-tips and wakestyle boards after a few years dedicated to riding surfboards exclusively.
As always, remember to size-up with the Dice, and size-down with the Neo. 🤙🏽 -Aaron

I have a neo 11m and a rebel 13m, im considering starting to unhook, does any one know which one of these options is the best for freestyle?

Thanks for your candid thoughts on these two kites Aaron! Do you have any thoughts on how the Evo SLS compares to them, also from a wave-oriented perspective?

You're very welcome-thank YOU, my friend. 🤙🏽 I will add your suggestion and compare the Evo SLS in an upcoming video. The lines between the Neo, Dice, and Evo are becoming increasingly blurry over the years, that's fur sure. -Aaron

The Dice for me is definitely less powerful. I feel like when the bar is half way trough to all the way up the kite just dies. So for strapless I’d definitely go for the Neo, super responsive.

Yeah, the Dice's power is a trade-off for its direct steering response, for sure. Always gotta size-up one in comparison to the Neo. 🤙🏽 Good winds to you! -Aaron

What is the bar pressure difference between these two kites?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Great question, my friend. 🤙🏽 Was thinking that very same thing as I was sessioning the Dice SLS 9m is some small swell last week.
In my opinion, the Dice SLS has slightly more bar pressure than the Neo SLS. That's probably because the Neo SLS flies a bit more off of the front lines than the Dice SLS.
I also noticed that the Dice SLS does not absorb the gusts as well as the Neo SLS. However, my priority is response and handling, so I'm willing to accept that tradeoff.
      Hope this helps. Good winds.

I prefer dice in waves, because I normally ride Vegas so neo is on the other side of spectrum and I don't feel too comfortable on it. But I know neo is superior to dice when it comes to wave riding.

Thank you for your thoughts, Mikolaj. 🤙🏽 I had so much fun on both the Dice and Neo that I had to boil the decision down to what other preferences the rider might have. Like freeriding, freestyle, wakestyle, kiteloops, etc. I could honestly take either one and know that I’ll have a great time in the waves. -Aaron

Not fair to compare wave characteristics on flat water…….

We shot this during our Annual King of the Great Lakes kite demo, and we were lucky to have the 2022 Duotone SLS kites available. Sometimes we have to do the best we can with what we have. -Aaron
