    Mine hasnt broke in 2 years of lotta driving, mild bashing and plenty of jumping. Learn to drive💖 in all fairness I should mention I changed out the servo twice, NOT UDRs fault, obviously and I replaced the front skid plate to be expected after many many nasty collisions.

    its your jerky acceleration and stopping that breaks gears. people miss the point of the UDR. its not a basher. its meant to be ran like a scale TT.

      lol, why my Mojave doesn't break then. Traxxas designs their vehicles to break so they can sell more parts. Fact: Traxxas makes more money in parts sells then actual vehicles.

      @@surfside75 bro that's false information Traxxas is marketed for beginners who have 0 clue how an RC car works or even how to drive an RC car, I just soak my RC car plastic parts in wd-40 overnight
      but I also started driving RC cars when I was like 6 I've been doing it for 9yrs now and have rebuilt parts chassis

    Nice video, and good to see no real bashing as that doesn’t work with the UDR. Are you running 6S? Looked very quick... I run 4S in mine mostly and it doesn’t seem to cause any damage. What I like about the UDR is the scale handling, and 4S is the sweet spot for that.

    Are you running a stock spur gear on 6S? When you run 6S on the UDR traxxas recommends you put a 55t spur gear. I had the same issue with mine till I put in a 55t spur gear. I have less top end speed but more torque and I’m not having issues anymore.

      @@carbonelement77 - Indeed, I did it already on mine. So on all three spots there are all alloy cover diff's. So far so good. Take note to use smaller spider shaft brackets as you can find on kit TRX8584 not these ones which you can find with TRX8581X that clenching while rotating. Anyway nice spot for speed runs on your footage.

    Hi man, I've a udr to, I used to broke my pinion and spur gear every time I use my udr. The problem was due to the motor which produce so much heat and broke the pinion. I decided to bought a leopard 4275 2000kv and i put a 40x40 fan , since that, i've no longer broke pinion and spur gear. Also I've got the full telemetry system, before my upgrade the traxxas motor in normal use was overheating to 110 C° now with the leopard and the fan i'm arround 50-60 C°. For greasing differential and all that stuff, I use synthetic high performance extreme pressure grease, now it don't seems to wear a lot. And for the oil in the front and central differential I use Motul gear 300v (Honnestly don't know if it's good but it works). Hope it will help

    On/off throttle on such a geavy rig... putting a diff in the rear axle that’s made to run a spool... terrible combo for the UDR. It’s not made to be a basher like a monster truck.

    It's the way you're driving you're hitting the brakes and then romping on it you can't do that it's not made for that it's not made to hit it full throttle that watch it up the speed and then hit the brake or go from nothing to full throttle because the surface that you're running it on is the surface that it grips best on

    lmao at fanboys getting butthurt that their plastic overpriced toy can't do even basic shit without breaking. Ever seen what real trophy trucks do? Jumps and super rough terrain.
    A Super Baja Rey 2.0 eats this thing for breakfast. Bigger, faster, licenced parts and SO much tougher. Nice shinny suspension and other metal parts, licenced tires.
    Even the regular Baja Rey is a scale trophy truck that's tough as nails.
    There is no excuse. This is just Traxxas overcharging for shit quality because their fanboys and newbies will buy anyway.

    @erictaylor8844 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Seems like the gears are shredding because of your continued abrupt throttle inputs. There’s nothing that can withstand repeatedly punching the throttle over and over again, it’s not meant for that. Try getting in your real car and doing full throttle neutral slams, it won’t end well 😂

    • @surfside75
      @surfside75 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Strange because I drive my Mojave and my Baja Rey like that and never have issues. Running 6s and 3s on custom power tune.

    • @whatswiththissassylostchilld
      @whatswiththissassylostchilld 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not exactly. UDR Planetary is not the best design and usually you see those types of gear box on crawler. And obviously when you full throttle neutral into first gear there going to be a lot of street but it won’t just break away right away.
