I can honestly tell that this jump has gone different since I saw that desert peoples video of the Laughlin desert challenge of this jump it was a lot more deeper and more whoops and now it just looks so lonely just a little jump that's all it is but the question here is I think the trophy trucks did it better than the class 6100 the trophy trucks have more power meaning more air then the class 6100
I noticed the same thing since I've been watching this jump since the early 2000's. I think maybe sometimes the course was run in the opposite direction, because I swear in some of the videos they were sailing it downhill. But now that I live here I have another possible explanation. This terrain out here is pure sand, and it moves a lot of when it rains. When it pours there are mountains of sand moving around, our backyard is a good example. I think maybe time and rain and stuff have just changed the shape and layout of the jump.
The alternative is slowing down to prevent getting airborne on a jump, which one is worse??? Slowing down or hammer down and lose some moment win for the 0.5 seconds you’re airborne?
At 59 seconds… in a real truck will doing that risk breaking your drivetrain? I know with my RC race truck there is a risk of breaking drivetrain components when staying on the throttle while landing.
These trucks are different though, custom full scale trucks are not built to break and send the costomer back to buy original parts over and over or upgrade parts for 3× the price. Rc cars are, plus if you build them right and upgrade smart, you can build an rc to be almost indestructible within reason. Also rc cars have way more power to weight than these full scales, with the torque that electric rc motors provide, its easier to mess up parts.
At this level of race machine landing on the throttle should have pretty much zero consequences. There are lots of other machines that people warn about doing that, but these....nah. But also, what kind of RC car are you running? I never worried about that on any of my RC cars, they were definitely strong enough.
Generally you aren't supposed to land with the throttle pegged in an rc, but slipper clutches and centre diffs can help alleviate some of the shock load on the drive train.

Shouldnt it be that airtime is slower than landing on the downslope and accelerating? Sure from watchers perspective More airtime is better
