My biggest suggestion is to only buy DLC when there is a huge sale. Never buy full price ESPECIALLY the base game. Also be mindful of which mods require which packs. A lot of mods especially the good ones requie more than the BG.

The Origin store basically begged me to buy the Sims 4 when I bought the Sims 3 intro bundle. Tacked the Sims 4 on for like $4.99

I found a site that sells discounted sims packs. I haven’t gotten any viruses or anything from it. Cus afyer all these kits and the mess that was the wedding pack I’m never buying that shi for full price 😭
It's definitely something to at the very least really look at reviews for and the total cost is over $700 but my cc? Free or the cost of patreon for more swatches and better thought out pieces

I agree with everything, just not Get Together. I don't use the club feature, but I do like the djs, the build-mode (the dance floors), the cafe, nightclubs,and the world. It's really nice in general.
And the clubs are kinda cool to have actual control over friends going out together
get together is a mandatory expansion pack
Get together is essential.
I only use the club feature when playing with my super sim save (it increases the job meter quicker and completes your skills quicker too)
I love get to work. One of my favorites because of the businesses. It’s almost like people forget about that system and focus on just the interactive careers but you can have almost any type of business and sell just about anything. Bakery owner is top tier for me. I love it.
Exactly! I got it recently and it’s honestly one of my favorite packs. There’s so much in it and it’s definitely underrated
I want to get it for that same reason. At the end of the day it really depends on your playstyle and the plots you wanna make. For me, I like the careers it gives and also the ability to build businesses, and God knows I need to build a stripclub for one of my plots
After all these kits and the fucking insult that was the wedding pack I'm so ready to see Kenya's latest opinions on TS4.
The kits are especially useless when you realize that the ppl that buy the kits will literally convert them to be base game compatible and put it up for download for free, like the blooming rooms kit is cute but I’m not paying $5 for it obviously, but someone made it bgc and I got the whole thing for free 99 like PLEASE, I refuse to let ea run my pockets

For me, Jungle Adventure is one of the packs I return to every once in a while because the exploring tends to end differently. You find different things in different places, unlike Strangerville which has the same storyline.
I like Jungle Adventure too, and I go back to it too. It's beautiful, and I like the gamble of going into the jungle. I love putting the found artifacts in my Sims' homes too. It a more fun vacation than Sulani 😬
When it first came out tho..... I loved it!! I do enjoy the sims4... but something has always been missing in it, for me.
@@jessecygan286 depth. ts4 seriously lacks it. they tried to do something with sentiments, preferences and lifestyles and they do help (even if lifestyles are really annoying), but at its core ts4 still lacks depth
Bought Sims 4 at 88% of back in February and I've been adding mods and CC ever since. This video is really reassuring and helpful.
i got it a few days before christmas for $5 and was absolutely flabbergasted to find that the eps are basically the same price as the game originally 💀

If you haven't used get to work to run a retail shop I highly suggest it. It is one of the main things that gets me playing. I have one sim that owns a bakery and another that runs an art gallery. I'm obsessed.
i love cats and dogs the vet thing can be very confusing at times, but being a veterinarian is honestly fun

I’m not a beginner by any means I just love Kenya’s opinion. When she put snowy escape on the “don’t even consider” and started talking about why I literally just remembered I have that expansion pack 😂 that’s how bad it is. I forgot I even purchased it, and haven’t played it since😭
For mod suggestions I love the preteen mod tbh!! Instead of your kids going from looking 9 to looking 17 you get an additional life stage where they have that kinda gangly awkward 10-14 ish looking stage and it really is sweet. They even have like a middle school stage

Unfortunately for me and other console players we have to buy the kits in order to make things look better and to have a more fun experience. I hope one day EA will allow cc and mods for the console.
it’s not that don’t allow it, it’s just that it’s not possible. consoles just don’t have folders like pc does.

14:02 i would say they need get to work because the amount of mods that require it, usually mods that allow you to do stuff inside get to work require get to work.
Pinterest is also a very good place to find custom content and mods but mostly custom content also make sure to take mods and custom content out of the ea mods folder before you update the game or you will corrupt your cc and mods.
I don't play the sims and I never have, but I'm just here for Kenya's thoughts lol. Also Kenya you look stunninggggg!

I do enjoy the BB and CAS from Snowy Escape. I think if you prefer building and CAS it's okay but definitely get it on sale because the gameplay isn't there and the world itself is deserted so it feels eerie.
Eco lifestyle is the “black sheep” of TS4. What I mean by that? That it’s the most different pack, innovative and original and to me, it’s really good especially if compared to the rest of the bunch. It has more gameplay and depth than Get Famous, Cats & Dogs, Snowy Escape, Island Living or Get To Work.
Same applies for Tiny Living, Laundry Day and Paranormal.
DHD I only like because of build buy.
I don’t prefer occults cause I want life simulator not supernatural but I think those that came with game packs were done pretty decent so I caught myself kinda using them.
Btw I can’t get why you like cats & dogs. Ok, Brindleton Bay is gorgeous and pets were always a good idea but in practice, this pack was superficial and didn’t actually deliver.
About strangerville... I wonder if modders are able to make more stories. So you can have a story each world or something. But I'd imagine it'd only work WITH strangerville. I don't know mod restrictions, but a lot of times you can't go inside certain career buildings in mods without get to work. I'd imagine it would have similar restrictions.
this is the first vid i’ve watched of yours and oh my god how i relate to binge playing the sims in the beginning of quarantine. i remember waking up and being excited to play the household and being so oddly attached to the family

The only kid I would buy is the Carnaval one because it's based on a drag queen from my country that I really like and it's nice having something based on my own country.
The county kitchen is adorable but it's too similar to the set we get with Cottage Living
i would love to know a list of all your favorite mods! i know there's a lot of cool ones out there but i think finding them can be overwhelming
Find them is one thing, but finding the right version and making sure you're not getting outdated mods can be very confusing. Not to mention the possible conflicts you need to look out for since not all mods work together.

i feel like when it comes to occult sims gameplay it’s for a niche audience, even though it’s quite popular. do any y’all like occults here?
ppl would like occults if they made them more integrated with the game (for example, vampires and mermaids having beef). more occults like werewolves (PLSS i'm begging). elves. a city for occults like in sims 3 nightlife. there's a lot of potential there.
Yeah, I agree it's quite niche. Fantasy in general is near and dear to my heart so of course I had to get Realm of Magic---I think it's decently fun if you're into that kind of thing already. Unlike most Sims 4 packs the gameplay was actually the main appeal for me. The BB and CAS don't mesh well with most other packs and the world isn't amazing, either, so I wouldn't reccomend unless you really want witches in your game.

Snowy Escape is good for all the Japanese food, however, there are also free mods for it too.

a couple years back(?) base sims 4 was being given away for free for like a week and i decided to grab it out of curiosity because who doesn't want a free game 🤷♀ i only found my download of it this month and i've been having so much fun modding and using cc! but i couldnt believe how much the game goes for at full price on steam and i'm honestly considering pirating a few packs because im not paying all that LMFAOO
The only expansion pack that I would never buy is City Living. I tried the free trial and absolutely hated it because there's absolutely nothing to me in that, I hated the apartments, hated the build mode and I don't find the festivals interesting enough to buy.
I liked Snowy Escape thouhg, I find the snowy activities a fun activity do have with family, the world is beautiful and I always use the items in my builds and sims because they are amazing. I don't particularly care about lifestyles but they can be useful from time to time
Now a must have in my play style is Realm of Magic, I adore spellcasters and always have them in my game sooner or later
Tbh the only stuff packs I really enjoyed was the romantic one with the flower aesthetics and the laundry one because doing your own laundry added something realistic to the game,other than that if I didn’t downloaded at least 5go of cc and mods I would’ve probably not even thinking about playing the sims 4 lmao (Strangerville and Parenthood aesthetic was bomb as well)

playing a legacy in windenbug was fun for me. i use the club system with every kid, and the world is so big that it has most things i'd need like a gym and a club, and enough lots that my further down generations can still live in the same town as the current heir
hand up if ur not a beginner but just watched the video for Kenya 🖐 i love finding out other perspectives on what to buy. i have alot of packs but still dont have many of them aswell. i wont be buying the paranormal ones. i got vampires on pc but i play xbox. Occults arent for me. I wont be buying eco lifestyle or dine ot both broken on pc.

A lot of these packs I get for the build/buy content. I love to decorate my sims houses and some of the packs have some great items even if the game play they come with isn’t that great. I’m slowly getting into mods and CC tho and it’s a whole new world for me lol. Last pack I bought was Cottage Living but EA isn’t gonna get any more of my coins for awhile I’ll say that.

I loved this video sm but I'm going to be brutally honest you're better off downloading the game with all the packs + kits and then, once you have the game with all of that you can pick and choose which pack you want to disable/remove from the game :-)
Bundle you’re packs and you can get a game pack stuff pack and expansion for 40 something dollars
