The problem with the sims 4 is really that nothing you do feels like it has consequences or effects the world around you. What they need to nail for the sims 5 is making what you do actually MATTER.

I'm for sure the only one who wants this, but I'd like decades. Real decades. Not a lamp here or there like we got with TS3, but whole towns that are modeled after the 50s or 80s or something. I just think there's a lot of potential to stack that with Generations and parenthood. Imagine having a sim in the 1950s and watching her become a mother in the 70s, a grandmother in the 90s. I need this in my life.
This is what simmers are doing in TS3. I even built my own world set in the 50s, where the townies and even the Sims behavior fits the era. It's great fun 😊
I've been dreaming of historical the Sims since I started playing TS2 as a kid. I used to download "victorian" dresses and dreamed of having a horse and buggy instead of cars. I still literally dream of becoming a billionaire just so I could make this happen!! Imagine starting a family in the 1700s and playing to present day. Maybe some of the furniture would break down over time but you'd still have some family heirlooms. What about playing an alien through the times and having to behave differently? (I know this is ambitious..)
The best answer is to give up on the sims. As I have. At this point, the sims 4 is personally disrespectful to every breath I take. We have have protesting in the streets for years about the sims 4 MESS and the developers ignore us. Time to go back to the basics. If you don’t like it, don’t play it. That’s what time I’m on.

Eco lifestyle and snowy escapes are such big could have beens. I'm big on sustainability but it's just so hard to fit into regular gameplay. You have to be ZONED IN on trying to have a green neighbourhood that you end up not being able to do all the other fun things you can do in the sims
the neighborhood stories update was a total flop, a friend call my sim to see if she should get romantically involved with another one and i said yes, they “went” on a date but when i actually went to play with that sim (the friend) she had no romantic interests in the relationships panel 🙄
