It was here where I really started to trust Johnny, and saw him as a friend rather than just a copy of a dead legend in my head. Can't think of anything that says "I trust you" more than being handed a set of old dog tags that belonged to an old friend.

I played the corpo route, I really wanted to go against johnny as much as possible, I really did... but , it was hard to be a dick to him, when he stopped being a dick to me. By then, by this point, I had a hundred attempts to call him out, to be a asshole. But I couldn't. I took those dog tags and never said anything bad to him. Even though I still did the arasaka ending, Its because I couldn't allow him to just blow it up, because I hoped putting the right people in charge would make things right, because taka was my friend. But, he was right. And I felt so terrible in the end, when he was so upset with me, I tried to make him forgive me, but I couldnt.
This is the part that convinced me that Johnny was a good guy. He's still douchey, but he's likeable and he cares about V making it.

Johnny *lies* to you and tells you they're from a guy who gave his life to save Johnny's; if they're his own Dog tags, that's obviously false.
I like how thru out the story, V and Johnny are trying to tear each others throats, but when nearing the end, they finally understood each other, and care for one and the another.
And to learn to grow as people.
Except, V doesn't grow. This is for the best, as V can look like Peter Griffin, and goddamnit, I want to role play as Peter Griffin.

the way he looks at V with so much concern, holds their wrists, and says, "I got you" is so sweet. Johnny cares about V way more than people give him credit for.
When Johnny Silverhand says "I got you" I believe him 1000%
To be fair, everyone would be happy if someone like Johnny was there for them.
Why the Temperance ending has to be the truest one in my opinion.
Ofc the game wants you to decide that for yourself. But the temperance path feels like a real story, Johnny and V grow as individuals and help each other along the way.
V at the start wants nothing more than to be at the top. But as his world crashes down he doesnt know what he wants, he still wants to be somebody but his problems now are too big to worry about that. Johnny starts off this life in V's mind wanting nothing but his fame back. Johnny was the egotistical douche for most of his rocker life and only cared for himself. Like V kinda did.
But throughout as you both get to know each other, you journey through life together (jobs, meeting friends who can help). Johnny and V truly grow with one another. V begins to grow into a person who helps people, be more than someone who wants fame, he wants to live and in this becomes selfless. Johnny can see this first hand, observe, and as V becomes selfless Johnny does too, he stops and realizes how badly he wronged his friends and loved ones. How much of a jerk he truly was.
At first Johnny wants to kill V, decides to save him (for selfish reasons) but as V progresses and tries to be more, Johnny sees him as more than an obstacle, he wants to save V, "take the bullet", and then they continue to grow into so much more as the clock ticks. Johnny and V genuinely care for another, and would die for each other.
They grow so much together, the song at the end of Temperance matches perfectly.
Letting V live in that quest line feels so empty, he has everything he wanted with Jackie, but no one to share it with. He doesn't seem happy, just there. Letting Johnny live is a huge kick frm the perspective of V's old friends, but you can see how Johnny's changed from V's death. How selfless he becomes, how he tries to help this kid and encourage him to be more, this is how much V's sacrifice has taught him. And Johnny can live life anew, better than what he had before and not let this new chance go to waste, at the expense of his only true friend's sacrifice meaning nothing.
None of the endings are good, they're bittersweet, but if the game had to have a true ending, it would be Temperance.
I think if the game had a true ending, it'd be don't fear the reaper. You and Johnny storm arasaka solo, becoming a true legend lining yourself up for the heist of a lifetime.
@@plexyglass429 "don't fear the reaper" is an endgame choice, not an ending. If you take the "don't fear the reaper" path then you have access to either the Temperance or the Sun ending depending on the final choice in cyberspace so you can take the "don't fear the reaper" path and still get the Temperance ending. All things considered choosing the "don't fear the reaper" path is pretty much the best choice if you're planning to go with either the Sun or Temperance endings despite the fact that it's the most difficult path since it'll lead to a better outcome for both endings.

But also, I consider the Panam Ending the best, giving Johnny finally a rest.
100 percent agree. I got the glory ending first time where he became a legend but then nobody to share it with because Panam leaves with the nomads. It felt so goddamn empty. Then I went with the ending what everybody calls the happiest which is to go with Panam into the badlands. But all I could think about the entire time was all those people who died. They technically died for nothing because V is still dying anyway. If I were V I'd feel great guilt being with the nomads, as they sacrificed so much for me, yet it wasn't a permanent happy ending. Sooner or later the inevitable will still occur. There's no need to speak of the Arasaka ending: you betrayed Johnny, your friends and yourself and sold your soul and they will never let V out of there. But the Johnny ending where he lives, something just clicked. It was bittersweet sure, but compared to the others it felt true, like Vs death actually meant something. It changed Johnny and he lived encouraging people rather than bringing them down like his old self did. Plus nobody else gets involved with that ending if am right, so rogue doesn't die, neither does any of the nomads. Your conscious is clear

The conversation between those two will be like:
V: “I will repay you”,

CD Project are form Poland, I’m also form poland so trust me no mistake that was totally hint, I felt chemistry between V and Johnny but I would never assumed that V will have this dialogue. Btw who normal would ask guy

this scene right here along with chippin in side quest chain really hits home the real question Who are you really? where does V begin and end and who johnny really is? the interaction between both is beautiful especially at the very end of the game when you speak to johnny if you decide to enter cyberspace you mention pistis sophia to him and its REALLY heartbreaking sometimes as a friend you do what you do to save lives I think no matter what anybody else says the endings where very well done in regards to interacting with johnny silverhand at the end. Whether you take the 6 months to live or sacrifice yourself to let johnny live really hits all the spots of a tragic ending for an anti hero because as johnny says "wrong town and wrong people for happy endings"

Absolutely. So many people say that Johnny is basically just an AI living in your head, but I can't bring myself to believe that. The story becomes so much more beautiful if you believe that Johnny is really there, growing as a person and learning to love V instead of wanting to kill them. You just couldn't pull off that caliber of a story with some Ai copy!

I'm that nerd that reads the wiki and this particular location is more than just a hidey hole, it's where "Johnny Silverhand" got his start after Johnny went AWOL from the Corpo War and fell into a deep existential depression, which turned to anger, which begot Samurai. This is Johnny saying to V and to himself that he's a new man and he's going to do right by his best choom.

Johnny is such a homie. I’ve been trying to get along with him up through this point, and understand his reasoning. When he said that he’ll do V no harm and that he would die for V, I realised that Johnny is a good man and it genuinely made me feel for him. Johnny saw the corruption and greed of Arasaka. He didn’t want innocent people to suffer for greed and have their lives ripped out of them. Soul killer is the absolute nail in the coffin for Johnny. They literally use the program to digitalise human subconscious into cyberspace to exist as mere data and Saburo primarily created wanted to create the Relic in order to become an immortal.

The only true ending is giving Johnny control, so he can have a few more months to live, to be a better man.
Well no. Johnny didn’t explain anything to all of V’s friends and consequently had V ghost them all. The only ones who know both want him dead. Johnny’s time has passed and while his ultimate goal was to burn Arasaka, his main priority was to save V after discovering the supposed final resting place of Johnny Silverhand which is where he learns that despite being a legend, everyone treated him like shit and for good reasons.

@@bigbrain4409 no he won’t. It has to be assumed that V did in fact took the time to help Johnny to reconcile with Rogue and Kerry so he doesn’t leave any loose ends. After he had nothing else to lose other than V to which he has already promised (and consequently vowed after discovering his final resting place) he would do no harm to V ever. Johnny already dictated who was going to get shredded and he plans to stick with it all the way consequences be damned. Even his advice for V was to go back to her body. Johnny disowned it already even if Alt wanted to have a word about it.
@@TheGeoCheese you realize were talking about temperance ending right? Where v gives the body to Johnny so Johnny left night city to become a better person because of V stayed in the body he would of died in 6 months unlike Johnny that the body has transferred it to him
@@bigbrain4409 he left Night City because V and Rogue (conditional) died because of him. He blames himself and ghosted everyone that either cares for V or cared about him (with Rogue angry at him if she’s still the Queen of the Afterlife) and also Johnny became determined to save V. Even if Alt says V has only 6 months to live, Johnny still doesn’t want to take over V’s body because that wasn’t what he agreed to and because he loses everything including the one person he truly did care about.
Also in the temperance ending Johnny will be suffering permanent depression because every day of every hour of every minute he will be reminded of his failure even if V willingly gave it to him because it means he broke his word to V and that deeply affected him. He may broken many words and not have cared but this one he really did care about. I doubt he will be able to make many friends or even be able to live a decent life with that particular failure hanging over him day in and day out.
This why I like Johnny he’s the real mvp!🎸🎸

The sad part about all of this is the johnny silverhand we know is nothing but a copy of the original. Only doing what the real johnny would've likely done. This johnny, is what the real johnny could've been had the real Johnny's mind been transfered instead of copied. But that's ok. Because in a sense, we are all kicking it with Johnny's ghost. We love you Johnny. J + V forever
I don't think that's the case-- I feel like, if Johnny were just an AI, the entire V + Johnny relationship would feel a little empty. If we want a more sciency explanation, if Johnny's entire psyche is on that chip and being transferred into V, then that would still make him Johnny, given that we as people are also basically an engram in a brain. If we want to take a more spiritual route (since there's a lot of spiritual symbolism in the game), I wouldn't say it's impossible that Johnny's spiritual soul was transferred in V as well. In some capacity, I really do believe that V was talking to the real Johnny :)
@@sh00kspeared73 that's a nice belief but unfortunately that isn't the case. You can look at it spiritually if you want. Technically Johnny "lives" on in a way but that isn't the real Johnny. A lot of what I said is explicative. Not implicative. The game and certain selection of dialogue tells you Johnny is nothing more than data. The game has not once ever used the word "transfer" in any capacity to even remotely imply that anyone hooked up to soul killer is moved over in the net. Not killed off. And this Johnny is basically, for all intents and purposes, an A.I with the template personality of the real Johnny. All his memories. Motivations. So on. And if he (if you decide to cross over as Johnny into the net/Blackwall) he becomes one with Alt. And if he were on the other side, given time, he would sooner or later become raw data, which is what a lot of dangerous A.I are in the game, and I'm not talking about the ones you encounter. It is the ones you don't, but you hear a lot of mention of. Kind of like Superman's father. The thing with his dad's face is nothing more than an A.I with all of his real father's memories and personality. Now he may be there interacting with you, but the digital Johnny "died" and you magically bumped into the real Johnny. The real one wouldn't have a clue who you are and what you "two" have done together except you. But again, it was never the real Johnny. So the real Johnny would obviously never know what the other has been up to all these years
It is from this scene that we can understand that Johnny has no bad intentions, on the contrary, if he had been the usual bastard as always, he would have left him there to die, while, instead, he worried about V.
Johnny want to take of V's body, but, at the same time, he was worried for V, for his life
