Don't listen to the haters. This stuff works wonders. 8 years later and I'm having to buff this old stuff off, in order to do a new re-coat. It never wore off. I just want the new shine again. Highly recommend.
Everyone saying don’t do it. I did my 38’ toy hauler 2.5 years ago and it turned out amazing. I’m about to strip it and do it again. Regardless of what you do, it is work to maintain even if you take the easy way. If you buy a new camper take proper care from the start. Mine was used and already oxidized so this was a quick fix but it turned out great and was a lot easier than buffing and hand waxing. It’s a monster, I’m not sure I’m up for that task and I can only imagine what it would cost to pay someone to do it.
Thank you Dennis for your honest reply. To everyone that watches this video its intended purpose is not find 100% maintenance free shine solution. But, to show you that you can have the same "do it yourself" "at home" "Cheaper" than taking it in. All shine to any vehicle for that matter takes maintenance. I'm super glad I did use ZEP polish on mine as the shine will last an entire season without issues. However, you have to keep up and maintain its shine for it to stay like that. Yes, over time without any additional applications the oxidation can come back. If this happens, you need to strip the polish with some ZEP stripper and then re-polish it.
@@OperationRV I'm reading that there is a four-step process, starting with stripper. I've never done anything to my RV except let it oxidize, so I just need this step for now?
I used Zep on my RV three years ago, and boy, do I regret it. Finish was nice to begin with but slowly yellowed to a point where I needed to remove it. That is a nightmare - you have to use the Zep floor stripper and that is difficult to use on a vertical surface because it dries before dissolving the coating. It took me 3 days to remove the Zep on one side of my RV and the stripper partially removed my decals and wrecked the clear coat on my storage compartments. So let this be a word of warning! Just use the Zep for shining floors, not your precious RV exterior. Waxing would have been less work and much less destructive.
You should have used bleach to strip it. Mine was on my rv for over 7 years and never yellowed anywhere. This stuff worked amazing for me. What color is you rv?

ZEP does weather over season and best to keep maintained. Mine last 2 seasons. You can recover again or ZEP also makes remover to get old off and redo. I just recover mine. This stuff is great budget option in my opinion.
For me the Zep looks GREAT! My '00 dutchstar was very oxidized and now it has a beautiful shine. I highly recommend it! Be patient and make sure its squeaky clean because you'll seal in anything you don't get off. It took me about 8 coats for an old coach in bad shape. But 2 years in, it's still beautiful and shiny.
I did this and had GREAT results! I'm so happy I did it. Our RV is stored inside and only used a few weeks of the year outside. Do I need to strip and redo after a few years? Or can I just do a maintenance coat every year?
It depends on the overall look your wanting and overall shine. Like most polish, it’s always best to remove old and apply new and amount of coats recommended or achieving. I went back over mine as a touch up and was okay. I hope that helps.
I did zep 2 years ago and it lasted great up until now. There were alot of areas that was fading away. I decided not to strip the wax off and apply more over it. I did about 5 coats and it turned out GREAT!! You do not need to strip it. The more coats I applied the glossier it got. After going through this, I determined that its best to give it a few coats every year so this way don't have to go through what I just went through. There is no need to strip the old off. I can assure you it will all blend in and look great.
It's really a version of concrete sealer......it does eventually fail.....and it takes a lot of scrubbing with ammonia to get off. The problem is it doesn't fail evenly.....it kinda sheets off.....and bad. I wouldn't do it....really need mild coumpund and buff to do right.
@@TonyB4679 3M perfect it system. Or a correct compound then a RV ceramic wax . It will save you a lot of headaches. Not really.. Zep makes a stripper. You have to understand that not everyone wants to spend hundreds of not thousands of dollars to refinish an older RV, especially if their budget doesn't allow it. They may also not have the ability or know how to buff and polish massive RV either. For some people, this is an ideal solution to spruce up a older, weathered RV.
