Hi Ian, I looked through a whole bunch of tutorials for painting the sky first and then clouds on youtube and I have to say that your tutorial is most complete, including the kinds of brushes, talking about strokes and form, etc. Hence, after spending time trying out other tutorials, I have returned to yours. Others have either started out with a blue sky or rushed through painting it as though that was a given, a kindergarten painting. It might be seasoned painters, but not for most of us for whom painting does not come naturally. So, you taking the time is really helpful. Thank you very much.
What I like about you Ian is you don’t just do a painting , you give us the time and you explained the mixing and show us just what to do , there are not many who would use the time like you do for this I feel now more confident because I know the things to do before and so on can’t thank you enough I’m 86 and have painted in the past Bob Ross style but yours is the best way for me to start again with this lockdown thank you friend
Thank you sooo much! I've watched this tutorial several times and learned so much! This has been excellent for a beginner, as opposed to simply watching a tutorial with no instruction whatsoever. Your humor kills me, as well, which makes learning a lot more enjoyable! I've subscribed and look forward to going through many more of your tutorials. I appreciate you more than you know. Thank you again! By the way, my son's name is Ian. The most beautiful name ever!
I just want to take this time to thank you! I've been trying to paint some lately and was needing help and so happened I came across your page, and Now I'm doing so much better thanks to your easy instructions. I m loving to paint and will be watching you because you are my favorite. Thank you a Million times over..because you have saved the day,and many more..
I discovered you recently. I am very much a newbie...picked up a brush just about a year ago. I absolutely love your tutorials. You're a fantastic instructor and I appreciate you Ian. Thank you ! 💞
Thank you very much indeed absolutely loved watching and taking all in !!!! .. ( new here and a beginner.. did some basic paintings with friends .. and really keen and interested to take it seriously one day at a time ) can’t wait to try this myself soon .. thanks again for your time .. &. going through in details as well 🙏
Ian, I have been baffled at how to get the water up on the sand. I cannot thank you enough for breaking it down in this tutorial. Your a very talented artist and I love ur work.
I have learned more about painting water, waves and clouds by watching just 2 of your videos than I have by watching HOURS and hours of other videos! I love your no nonsense, simple, yet effective, approach to painting. Thank you for also giving us so many tips about blending, using tape & using the water sprayer too! I adore your hilarious little quips, it makes painting so much fun! I can't thank you enough for doing these tutorials! People post a LOT of time lapse paintings, which I enjoy watching, but, you don't really LEARN anything by watching them like we do by watching your tutorials. You are a fabulous teacher and are an absolute pleasure to watch as you create your beautiful art! Again, THANK YOU, I truly appreciate you!
Ian You showed me how to paint shallow water on the beach in a very straight forward way explaining in great detail. I am new to painting and my goal is to enjoy painting water. I’m on my way thanks to your wonderful tutorial. Thanku😊
This is the first video that I’ve watched on TH-cam that I feel will help me with clouds and the waters edge. Love the transition of water coming up on the sand. You are Beautiful and an inspiration. Greetings from America!
Hi Ian, what you have done is amazing. Step by step for the eager beginners. Using only primary colours plus black and white you have created a masterpiece. Thank you for being so encouraging and humble. Now I can paint proper clouds, waves and sea water reaching the beach. I can say now that I learned the proper technique. Priceless! !!!! Appreciated. Regards
This video helped me in so many ways ; ie, sky and water blending, cloud color blending and shapes, and waves. I never had a desire to paint a seascape before, and now I can't wait to try out your methods. You simplified what I have been struggling with in landscapes. Thanks from Judy, alias the "messy painter from Arizona".
I love you because you are so, so real. Too, thanks for showing us how to paint with acrylics! I'll be glad when you do your lessons on clouds, what you mentioned in the beginning of this lesson. Thanks again!
I've been painting for years and this is by far one of the best beginner tutorials out there!! Subscribed earlier today after watching several of your videos...I am still learning every time I pick up a brush....TY :)
This is the best beginners channel I have found. Some of them lose me half way through with all the different colour mixing. This is brilliant for the complete beginner! Gonna have a go at this one, Thank you!
Nice work using the right mix of water with the right brush is a big help. Spray bottle that's a new one to try! Working on the right shape for clouds ? Thank you!
I am back! Again and again. Your tutorial convinced me that I can do this, and I am not giving up! Thanks much for being a superior instructor. Your technique, your voice/accent, your easy instruction, your unbelievable talent keeps me returning! THANKS!
Nice comment, so I also am a beginner in some sort. Or if you would like to see it? I maybe could learn something from you or perhaps you learn something from me 😇😊 John.
