I'm working 9-5 with children and expecting. I was planning to take 4 months off for maternity leave and begin to study and setup everything that is needed. What I am wondering is maybe I can work online notary for a couple of months while out on maternity leave studying and gaining some experience in this field, while working on opening a business as well as marketing. I have always had problems with marketing with my last business which was candle and soap, but I have learned a lot from it so now I am more prepared on how to market and setup my website etc. I have a strategic plan so hopefully things run smoothly and definitely will part ways with my 9-5 job because I want nothing more than to have control over my life, spend more time with my family and manage my business. Thank you for sharing your story of moving from education to notary. It's encouraging to see that there are other options for long time educators that are not necessarily centered around traditional teaching/counseling. Also I can see how educators can leverage their experience in many ways in notary. This was super encouraging for me to listen to as I consider shifting gears or adding a different stream of income.
