The surui saturns the closest out of their range they can get to more natural looking flaring , but they only have one of them which makes it a little bit of an L
Anamorphic lenses is a must for FF sensors because they are taller than Super 35 and most films are widescreen. You loose a lot of information if you crop a FF sensor for widescreen. However with an Anamorphic everything is pretty much OK. Still we are shooting with super 35 our films.
Incredibly objective review (perhaps aside from the assumption that we’re probably all using automatic focusing lenses) ;-) I use an SLR Magic 1.33 adapter on my SLR Magic APO microprimes on my Komodo and it’s a magical combination. I need to check out the moment adapter after watching this. Great content. Thanks for sharing.
Couldn’t the GM have more coverage than the Vespids and that’s why you got a bit of vignetting? Loving the Saturn and it looks great and diopters are you friends!
Kofi hello, just found your channel. Very nice video. Have you used the Mercury Series 1.5x Full-Frame Anamorphic? If yes what's your thoughts? RESPECT
@7:15 Sorry broski, there's literally no way to have an anamorphic adapter work with the same focal lengths of s35 and ff. Also, rear adapters won't change whether you'll get a vig. The vig will come from having the anamorphic lens too far away from the front of your taking lens so that's your culprit. Great channel and review though, keep em coming.
@@KofiYeboah Haha I'm not crushing your dreams, just trying to explain camera sensor size 101. You should probably google the phrase "crop factor" and get a handle on the concept because with the "V2" statement, it seems like you might not understand it. It would make your reviews/opinions on these tools much stronger. But hey, maybe I'm just misunderstanding and you're actually trying to say something else? One will always need a longer taking lens paired with a bigger sensor when trying to match the same FOV of a smaller s35 sensor & wider lens. Did you mean to say, you wish Moment would publish better vig free "widest angle" taking lens numbers?
@@natrix honestly I just made a hope with no material idea how it should be done 🤷🏾♂️I don’t think I was taking an authority stance on it at all , kinda like wishing for like a 12-200mm f2 lens that’s under 1.5lbs 😅
Hello :) Great review ! By any chance could you tell me which « cage »/« rig » I could use for a Sony Alpha 7 IV + the 50mm + Anamorphic adapter ? Because it is true that that thing is pretty heavy handled :/ And I’d like to test it for photography 🤷🏻♂️
Another review that doesn’t mention that Moments lens compatibility chart regarding 50mm on FF and 35mm on S35 sensors is just not correct. In your video I see the same vignetting at these focal lengths as on every other video about the adapter as well as my own tests on my FF A7SIII and my S35 Red Komodo. It would have been cool if you would have included this finding into the review since it is certainly visible in your footage too. I even wrote Moment about this issue to wich they replied this : „ There are so many factors involved that perhaps we should've accounted more for. Such as varying optics and characteristics in different lenses, distinct settings needed for certain cameras to perform as a "full frame sensor", and additional accessories that some of our customers may use“. Curiously the vignetting is very visible in their own product video so it seems to me this statement is quite untrue. Even the guy who was hired to do their Kickstarter videos told me he saw the issue. But since he was paid by Moment of course he didn’t include the info in his „review“. Instead he just used a 50mm on his S35 BMPCC so no one would notice. That’s why I am commenting since I believe reviews should include this info.
I picked up a couple of Sirui lenses for my FX30. I haven't used them heavily, but the test shots look really good and they are a great bargain. I picked them up for a great deal after watching your reviews.
Which ones did you get ? The Saturn series is actually super nice I love the neutral flares , with this guy , a big thing is the versatility, mind you a little less squeezing
Very interesting adapter! It almost looks like it should be desqueezed a bit more than the advertised 1.33x, not saying it is, but that’s how it looks as the faces are much thinner than they should be in the footage. This is not uncommon at all with anamorphic adapters as well as there may not be a constant squeeze between minimum and infinity focus. Also… taking* lens 😏😉
Take, taking , tomato tomato lol 😂 Also sometimes happened and I was confused , Tbf I could be a degree or two off on the anamorphic which threw it off a lil haha
I put it on my Crane 2S with my 35mm f1.8 (my heaviest lens. I don’t recommend a 35mm on Full Frame because of vignetting) and A7III and it handled it beautifully. Still testing though: th-cam.com/users/shortsbZEitdzFPzo?feature=share
bro thank you for this video, i was looking for an anamorphic lens but you cant beat this it has the ability to use other lens, it a no brainer
And it looks so nice 🥰🥰
The flares turned out to be so much better than mine!! 🔥 This is a win for Moment!

AYO, look at that shoutout at the end!
Ahah I had to 😃
My FX3, with Gmaster, plus Moment adaptor has heavy vignetting. Great vid.
Which lens ?
Great review kofi. Been eyeing this
It’s been fun to work with !
Great review bro
Thanks !!!
Still waiting a second review of your as well hhaha
awesome insight! theres a couple anamorphic facebook groups out there that would benefit from this
I haven’t joined one but I’ll check em out !
Thanks for this find. It looks like a good choice.
It was a lot of fun to use !
Does this adapter fits sigma 18-35 and 50-100?
The Cine version ? Don’t think so
Maybe the 50-100 as the minimum focal length would have to be like 35mm

Thanks 🙏🏾
@@KofiYeboah “I only have autofocusing lenses, and you probably do as well.” 😉
All good. Was happy to see you used the DZOs to test with 👊
fair play ahah

I’m not sure what you mean?
The GM lens might cover a larger image circle. Which could be why the GM didn’t have any vignetting. Not sure.
A slightly off-topic question: How do I get a slow shutter effect on my Sony fx30? I can't go any slower than 1/48th of a second. Thanks
You could try it in post ?
@@KofiYeboah uhmm, isn't there a way to do it in camera ?
Solid review, i'd like to see them cover at least a 35mm full frame or V2
Same! Although , the 50mm anamorphic look is really nice !
Awesome!! thanks for the review!!
Thanks ! Hope I answered the vignette questio
Does this lens work with X100v
I’ve never used one so I wouldn’t know 😢
Love it
Thanks !

I haven’t yet , I really want to soon!
Yeah ! i've been waiting specially for this review!
Do you have any close ups comparison coming on instagram or something?
Possibly! I sent the dzos back to the rental house

SLR Magic adapter is better , works from 40mm+ on FF and its cheaper , sorry Moments

Not being geared was such a fail by Moment.
