This game has one of my favourite story arcs in chess: "I started out winning because I'm a bully who knows some nasty traps, then I lost because I'm a complete idiot otherwise."
White played into the gambit only to lure Black into blundering away his advantage at the end. A Blackburn-Shilling counter-gambit, giving up 14 points of material before unleashing the never-before-seen series of crushing moves. Absolutely brilliant stuff.
@@justin_r9 you were trying to type the ‘m’ in mistake but then accidentally hit the backspace, deleted the space between the words, and were left with ‘bigistake’ instead of big mistake.

Black actually managed to start the match with 15 minutes on the clock and end it with 17 minutes left while making almost every possible blunder. That's pretty impressive.

those forks at the end i feel like are a perfect example why having a queen even against an entire army of enemy pieces is so strong, she can fork any other pieces without requiring any backup,
Hold on, at 2:50 this is partly the: You have to know this. Here's the moves it starts with. They don't know, they just see this. Slide the queen and bait it, they're gonna take it. This guy works so hard for his channel. For starters he explains the games very well between Ding and Ian, and he even makes in-between videos for our humor! Something that not a lot would be able to do. Props to Levy.
The forks at the end are nasty but it's actually very hard to defend against a queen in the endgame. You need very strong coordination of your remaining pieces.
@@user-pt2el1tt1r I know. What I meant was, how did Levy's Stockfish evaluate far enough to find mate in 29 while simultaneously missing mate in 5? Admittedly, I don't know much about how chess engines work, but that just seems really bizarre to me.
@@isavenewspapers8890 As I said, some stockfish engines are more powerful or more accurate. ACCURACY. That's the key. That's why on each stockfish engine level you can see the accuracy of your play differ based on what the engine said. Maybe you played a brilliant move but a weaker stockfish wouldn't understand and calls your move an inaccurate one. Or a "good" move not the best or great nor even brilliant which it would actually be. That's it. Thanks.
The White's best move was not to resign even with -14 points.
