Great video with clear samples about how to choose and fine tune every single technique explained. Aditional value is that foe a non native English it is a nice way to improve listening skills. Thank you.
Happy to help. You can also use the patch tool to duplicate objectts. I cover it in this video in case you're interested th-cam.com/video/x2VA0urNnmI/w-d-xo.html
Thanks Robin for posting this tutorial. I hadn’t tried using the patch tool “then” the in-painting tool for cleaning up the image. Never seem to think of using multiple tools that are built for one job to tackle the same edit.
Very usefull Robin, thanks for describing these methods, will definitely be practicing with them to improve my processing skills. I find your presentation style easy to follow, many thanks again.
Hi Robin , just started with affinity and just opened a raw image from h/d and its load with like a pink mask ? covering the whole image can't get rid of it , appreciate your thoughts
The best guess from your description is that the RAW file has areas that are over exposed. When you load a RAW file which has highlight clipping, the clipped areas turn pink. This isn't though a warning you can turn off, it's something that seemed to creep in a few versions back. You can test if this is the problem by reducing the Exposure slider to see if the pink area changes. One potential way around the problem is to turn off the Tone Curve that could be applied to your image automatically. This video (th-cam.com/video/YoBm9Fdcx5E/w-d-xo.html) explains a little more about how to do this. I hope this solves it for you.
@@RobinWhalley Hi thanks for reply, exposure just affects the shade of the pink, the tone curve makes no difference, image isn't O/E its fine in Lightroom. finding it a bit of a maize compared to Lightroom Maybe need to start from scratch and understand everything its already put me off!!
@@mikechapman1280 I'm sure what you are seeing is a problem in the software I believe. I've also heard of people having issues with compressed RAW files. If you want to go through the basics, try my beginners playlist which includes a course th-cam.com/play/PLUyadHduIq2f6YMErTU9_P5CIDIo15yq1.html
I don't understand what you mean by having "a list". The tools are quite simple with a little practice. For more complex situations try my other video th-cam.com/video/GAYtdjDiYoQ/w-d-xo.html

Thank you, I have often wondered how to use the patch tool.

You're welcome. Combining tools is very important as no one tool is usually perfect other than for very minor/simple repairs.
Another wonderful concise tutorial Robin. This one elevates my game. TY.
That's great to hear. I'm trying to keep the videos concise so I'm pleased you mention.
