Definitely not a boy band. Stereophonics are of the Brit indie rock era in the 90s, and they were massively popular, running alongside bands like Oasis, Blur, Manic Street Preachers, Pulp, Radiohead, James, Ocean Colour Scene etc etc. The song is fully instrumental, with maybe a keyboard in there.
Meaningful lyrics and such a great era of good Rock band, it really hurts majority of them don't know about the song or the band, oh god such a underrated song and band.
You need to check out Decade in the Sun: Best of Stereophonics. They’re an amazing band, and it’s truly a shame that they’re largely unheard of in the US.
From the movie Crash, a movie well worth watching. Fantastic cast: Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, Micheal Douglas and the list goes on. And FYI Stereophonics is a modern rock band.
Dude I also got introduced to this band from the end credits of crash, it was a great movie which we don't get now, n there wasn't any other Better way to end the movie with such song suitable to the theme of the movie.
Stereophonics are one of my favourite bands I’ve seen them live a few times they are just amazing! Last time in Cardiff where Tom Jones supported omg that was such an amazing sell out stadium gig. You should listen to more of their songs and they definitely play their own instruments not a boy band
That was definitely a bad take from the guy. Boy band!? Now they didn't see the official video to this song where the band is shown playing their own instruments, but c'mon man!
Lol. Nah she's right I like the way she was really into it🎸.🎙 I love this song it gives you this great Vibe🔊🔥 from it. She's kool and correct about this song🤠great job guys.
Tasha, I recall very clearly watching the movie Crash (2004) and hearing this song play as the credits rolled. It hooked me immediately. I immediatelty picked up my phone to see who it was. I usually agree with T on most things, but I think he is completely wrong in this case. I can't stand boyband type music or music that doesn't have real instruments being played. So I don't get that at all from this song. What Tasha described is exactly how this song hits me and makes me feel as well. Just a chill nighttime driving song. The movie Crash just puts you in a certain mood and feeling a certain kinda way, and then this song hits and wow, I can't explain it, but I felt compelled to keep the credits rolling to let the song play out. Check out the song Dakota and the song Right Place Right Time off their latest album. I love the lyrical story on that one, but the chorus melody is the hook, "Where would I be now, if I hadn't met you, Right place Right time, yeah" Reflective song that makes you think back over your life and how you got where you are and how it all might be different without that special someone. Every Dog Has its Day has a similar feel to it, I guess thats just kind of the tone of the album. They had a hit A Thousand Trees you might have heard before and have also done some interesting covers as well. 2 other songs I really like are Hungover For You (I prefer the alternate version, but both are good) and Make Friends with the Morning. If you want to hear one of their more rocking songs try Hanging on your Hinges and Tshirt Sun Tan. BTW, if you've never seen Crash it is an incredible movie. Definitely worth a watch.
Settle down my dudes you guys are both right. This is a pop song and they are playing instruments but it is mixed in the normal vocal heavy pop style. Boy bands were just a bad imitation of motown. Motown would still be considered rock although it is lighter and pretty much made the mold for modern pop. There were a bunch of these bands in the 90's that were much closer to pop than rock but were still played on alternative rock radio. Better than Ezra, the Gin Blossoms, 90's Duran Duran and early 90s REM all sounded very similar in style. There was also an entire group of lilith fair chick bands that were played on alternative radio. The 90s blurred a lot of the lines between genres.
I heard this song the first time I watched the movie Wicker Park (2004). If you guys ever react to a movie I hope you would consider this one....I would definitely watch you watch this.
Guys, Listen to Bartender and the thief or Maybe tomorrow live from Dakota which is completely different to the studio recording and still tell me you think they are a boy Band!
Haha, Cwmaman!! Cwm-am-an. Not sure if this helps, Lol. 10 out of 10 for effort guys. Loved your reaction. The stereophonics formed in a little Welsh town about 35 minutes away from where I live. This band definitely put Wales on the map. Cwmaman is a small ex coal mining town in South Wales, UK. Listen to some more of there music though guys. They ain't a boy band and u will like there other stuff.
They have quite a few pop leaning tracks. His rough vocals are Rod Stewartesque so I would say more laid back indie rock than boy band. Mr Writer is their best track imo. The best album imo is from 2005 with Dakota, as a whole the record is a little heavier than their usual. Just don't expect Slipknot or Rammstein. Their most laid back track I like is probably Indian Summer
It is so disgusting that one of the team called Stereophonic a boy and suggested that it was generated music. You’d think that he would at least do some research before making a fool of himself.
Best live band I’ve seen….. no two songs are the same yet all are good. When you said boy band I spat my coffee out … lol This is a top top band not to be judged on one song. You like Tom Jones well these guys did a cover of Mamma told me not to come… fun some check out the video.
Yeah she's right. What the hell are you talkin bout dude? Nothing like a boy band, This particular track was bordering on RnB though. It's a sort of cross between Folk, Rock, and RnB.
Stereophonics are a great band. Amazing live.
They're great. Seeing them again next month supporting Pearl Jam 🤘
Instrumental? Kelly is *literally singing throughout!* 😂
@@221b-Maker-Street Don’t be pedantic man. It’s obvious what I meant.
There still going
They were pretty big in the 00's as well.
Great Welsh band. Thoughtful lyrics. Accomplished musicians. Wonderful vocals.
Meaningful lyrics and such a great era of good Rock band, it really hurts majority of them don't know about the song or the band, oh god such a underrated song and band.
One of my favorites. I would listen to Kelly Jones sing an insurance policy. 🔥
Third party or fully Comp ? 😹
@@degsbabe 😆
My favorite songs by Stereophonics: "Rainbows & Pots of Gold", "Drowning", "Mr Writer", "Grafitti on the Train". Criminally under-rated band.
I love Mr Writer
Rainbows and pots of gold is such a good song!
Wow!!! Loved this!! First time hearing it. Thanks y’all!! 😊
Same
You need to check out Decade in the Sun: Best of Stereophonics. They’re an amazing band, and it’s truly a shame that they’re largely unheard of in the US.
Jump on down that rabbit hole...you won't be disappointed.....you'll be a convert for sure....
“Dakota” is my favorite by them
The Welsh always got that beautiful singing voice, such softly spoken men but such powerful poetic voices.
I love your videos so much!!! They make my evening! 🥰
They 100% play their own instruments, write their own music.
Stereophonics are my favourite artist, nothing precious at all is my favourite song by them it’s so good
From the movie Crash, a movie well worth watching. Fantastic cast: Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, Micheal Douglas and the list goes on.
And FYI Stereophonics is a modern rock band.
Not so modern seeing as I saw them in a pub in ipswich in 1996 for £4 😉
Dude I also got introduced to this band from the end credits of crash, it was a great movie which we don't get now, n there wasn't any other Better way to end the movie with such song suitable to the theme of the movie.
Live in London my own worst enemy. Their best song and live version kills!
No no no, not sounding like a boy band. They are wonderful, live.
BOY BAND!!!!! COMPUTER GENERATED!!!!!! I suggest you watch them live.
Stereophonics are one of my favourite bands I’ve seen them live a few times they are just amazing! Last time in Cardiff where Tom Jones supported omg that was such an amazing sell out stadium gig. You should listen to more of their songs and they definitely play their own instruments not a boy band
Great pick my favorite song by them. Tasha was feeling it 🥰😍 by the way she is 100% correct definitely not a boy band. 🙏🏽✌🏽🌎🌍🌏♥️
That was definitely a bad take from the guy. Boy band!? Now they didn't see the official video to this song where the band is shown playing their own instruments, but c'mon man!
Amazing back catalogue for those new to them ;)
LOVE this! Reminds me of school school soul or blue eyed soul from when I was a kid before everybody was freaking auto tuned & cookie cutter!
Great band - much underrated outside the UK. Great song!

Always deliver the goods when you go see them. Ventura Pacific highway top down cd blasting! Heaven.
This is one of this bands softer songs, you should check out more before writing them off. I recommend A Thousand trees or Local boy in a Photograph
Lol. Nah she's right I like the way she was really into it🎸.🎙 I love this song it gives you this great Vibe🔊🔥 from it. She's kool and correct about this song🤠great job guys.
The lovely moment was when you both didn't get it but almost looked at each other for confusion but for "THIS IS" vibes. 2:23
White musics vibe is not the same but it chills and cuts the same.
Such a great song. Kelly Jones kills it with the vocals.
If ye like liked this song then ye should check out 'Have A Nice Day'.Just Looking.Handbags And Gladrags.Mr.Writer and It Means Nothing.
and that's why I'm proud to have been born in the 90s......
Welsh people can sing. Tom Jones ….you ever heard of him?😉
Maybe Tomorrow ❤
Oh mate that is fuzzy guitar, they are definitely playing their instruments
Stereophonics couldn't be _farther_ from being a Boy Band! Wait, *electronically generated?!* Wash your ears out, young man! 🤣
Amazing look at more guys ❤
Check Bartender and the thief, Live. They're definitely not a boy band
React to band “Los Jaivas - La poderosa muerte” is amazing, very very famous in south america.

They are my favorite band, and yes they are absolutely NOT a boy band and they never were haha

"Dakota" is a true rock anthem.

Graffiti on the train live and i wanna get lost with you are my favs from a fellow welsh boy
great reaction! hahaha just weird to think it sounded like generated electronically and not traditional instruments hahaha. Moreeeeeeeee
One of their softer songs but definitely NOT a boy band. A melodic master-class. All their own instruments. You've gotta try their classic "Dakota"
