  • Alvin and The Chipmunks is long overdue for a new animated feature film. But which animation studio could possibly bring our favorite singing rodents back to the big screen? Here's why DreamWorks would be my preferred choice.

The proposal of a DreamWorks AATC Movie would certainly intrigue me and a lot of fans but I'm not sure Ross and Janice would go forward with the idea at this point of their careers and to be quite honest I'm not sure how DreamWorks would feel about an Alvin And The Chipmunks film with the current state of the franchise and AATC just isn't really a power name in the industry anymore. But if there's one company who can drag this franchise out of the tombstone it's certainly DreamWorks.

I'd be down for an animated Chipmunks movie by DreamWorks, but of course, it depends on how Ross and Janice feel about the idea and their current choices on AATC at the moment. I really wish they were more experimental with the franchise these days.

those are some really good points you brought up. it seems like Dreamworks could bring a lot of potential to this franchise, like movies and series. however, it would probably take Bagdasarian Productions a lot of convincing considering they don't like to hand out AATC rights to other media companies, as we know. and, yes, the Universal lawsuit also lowers the chance of that happening. (by the way, that Jeanette voice pitch with Lana's voice sounds SO ON POINT✨)

That’s a petty reason to hate Disney, Frozen was awesome. (Well the first movie at least). Plus them having Marvel and Star Wars added more to the brand, especially now it added the sense of variety to the brand.
Since if we look at things from a different standpoint, they have their animated properties like Pixar, the animated studio (which adds much of the general audios), Marvel (with the superhero and action movie audience) and Star Wars (sci-fi fans). It has so much variety and they litterally introduced a whole new world of movies and shows that many never thought to check out. Let’s look at each one of the movie franchises that benefited after Disney bought them, Marvel was on the brink of collapse but due to Disney purchasing it and the MCU saved it (now the MCU is the definitive Marvel movies), Star Wars, we got the Mandalorian, Clone Wars season 7 and Rebels and some other beloved projects that I might have not even mentioned (do you think they would have finished Clone Wars if it wasn’t for Disney) and there’s the Avatar movies (the sequel finally came out and we are getting a fast track on the other sequels), Disney added more to these properties than we gave it credit for. Before you mention the Fox purchase, let’s be real they wouldn’t have bought Fox if it wasn’t for the Marvel rights and for Disney plus to add more variety to the service.
Plus not too mention Disney has been a source of joy and inspiration to many fans myself included, I can’t imagine my life without them. Frozen, Marvel and Star Wars are just as much Disney as the other things they own like their animated studios, Pixar, Indiana Jones and the muppets.
Another good thing about the Marvel and Star Wars purchases is that it gave them more content to work with. Not too mention with that success and Frozen, we finally stopped getting bad content like the High School Musical movies and whatever they put out on Disney Channel. Do you think we would have gotten these beloved animated series if it’s High School Musical style movies and sitcoms all the time?
At least they now see that we need that variety since the Disney channel style of live action programming is dying out. There’s a reason why Loki, Mandalorian and Percy Jackson were hits on Disney plus. That reminds me, do you remember how Fox handled Percy Jackson before the Disney purchase? Do you think we would have gotten a book accurate adaptation without that intervention? Plus fun fact Disney published these books themselves and they as much as the author knows that the OG Fox movies are not watchable. Plus if you want to see a bad Disney animated movie, watch Encanto, it’s worse than Frozen and we should be grateful aside from a park ride they are not shoving it in our faces. So, you’re hating Disney for all the wrong reasons and only seeing it as a bad thing when there is also good in it as well.

I admit, I would be optimistic if I heard DreamWorks were handling the next Chipmunks film. I’m not sold on if they would do that in this current point in time. It’s not impossible but either DreamWorks would have to buy the film rights from Disney or buy out the franchise all together.
I also like the idea of bringing Vinny back. It’s been nearly forty years.
We can at least all agree they’ll never go to Universal.

I feel more like… Bagdasarian and Fox Productions did a good live action of Alvin and the Chimpmunks… But keep in mind there are like, the boomers who grew up watching the OG ones, the millenials who saw the 80’s-90’s one, and us the 2000-2010’s movies… But the live action one for sure remarked such a huge nostalgia somehow, I rewatch the 1-3 sequels and I can’t just imagine how good it was until then, even some people I’ve used to talk to had an obsession with Alvin and the Chimpmunks lol. Although, yes giving it to dreamworks it’s more like of a leap of faith atp, I think giving to dreamworks is more like either ride or die, is a one time thing, but honestly I would rather keep AATC the way as it is, it started a good sequence, IF there was a 5th movie that there would be a top finished one of the last 4 saga it would be a title named… “Alvin and the Chimpmunks Forever” or something like that, it would’ve been a dream fever if it was by the same studio that was produced by the Fox Pictures one lol

You think any of these companies could produce a very similar live action film to the original quadrilogy made by fox? Because the live action chipmunks look perfectly fine and I would like to see those chipmunks continue as it looks better and it would probably bring back some of its older fan base as well as continue on from road chip as there is so much than needs to be shown still, and so much that the fans want to see, it has so much potential for talking and singing chipmunks but it’s taking too long, do you think a live action film where the chipmunks look the same as the chipmunks form the original quadrilogy is possible in the next 10 years?

"Because the live action chipmunks look perfectly fine" You're free to think that, but a lot of fans would disagree. Since the Chipmunks most popular era was the 80s and 90s, their designs from this era are loved even today.
The cgi live action films weren't well liked by a majority of fans or general audiences, the writing and music is a huge downgrade from the 80s cartoon and Chipmunk Adventure.
They should be more true to their original design principles.

I personally think Alvin should return to the 80s era style of designs, especially Chipmunk Adventure. I think the franchise already reached peak perfection in terms of designs and it can't be matched. Also, in the cgi live action era, them all looking like actual chipmunks was a mistake.

    • @kbraven7007
      @kbraven7007 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I actually prefer the CGi era and them looking like actual chipmunks actually. Let’s be real they are now more recognizable in that style and they are more like going to go for that style. Not too mention the 80’s era is a little overrated and the live action movies are what most people who wasn’t born in the 80s grew up with anyway. If they brought back the 80s design and era it might turn people off. People freaked out on the live action Ariel just for her ethnicity I can’t imagine how they would react to 6 chipmunks who look more like humans than chipmunks especially with their nostalgia for the live action movies. There’s a reason people hated the ugly Sonic design, marvel added MCU elements and designs into the animated shows and comics and live action Mulan didn’t work without Mushu, same goes with Thor 4 didn’t work without Loki. Disney even did reshoots for the movie to just add the dwarves back in for the live action Snow White just because of the initial design of their replacements from the leaks turned people off, there’s no way they are going to do the 80’s design unless they want to drive audiences away.

Disney could work, but let’s be honest do we really think they’d do it? Even if they still have the rights from the Fox purchase, I don’t see them releasing it in theaters. If anything it would be a Disney plus exclusive. Look at Ice age 5, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the Cheaper by the Dozen reboot, the Home Alone reboot, Better Nate than never. They were all movies from Fox and they just dropped it to Disney plus. I mean unless it’s Avatar, Planet of the apes, any Marvel property then they’d give it their undivided attention to put it out in theaters. They won’t release it theatrically unless it’s made by the Disney animated studios and Pixar.

Huh i never thought of Dreamworks being a contender, i was about to say isn’t Dreamworks owned by universal who owns illumination, but having the history with that company along with Ross and Janice getting there own movies back and actually getting them back i am not so sure.
I like dreamworks i really love Shrek, but i think like with Kung Fu Panda 3 and How To Train Your Dragon 2 i feel like they have this kinda repetitive thing about there long lost mother or father coming back into the picture that’s the only problem, i don’t mind that but both thoses movies are kinda similar in a way with a long lost parent thing, so i am glad that Dreamworks is keeping away from that.
Even though dreamworks is a really good brand and company unfortunately some of there movies hadn’t quiet made like over a billion dollars like Disney has i am Afraid i am not so sure about the shrek movies if they grossed over a billion, but if you think about the disney movies that have made over a billion then you would think that the chipmunks would reach that level or close to it anyway. Although all the live action movies to date even if they didn’t make to a billion were really successful and the number one movie to hit like 400 is the Squeakquel and that is amazing it did better than the first movie even though that was successful the third movie and also road chip so you have to put that into perspective too.
When you were talking about the lower views on the last season of the 2015 and not even just like a number in general is really concerning, if i were Ross and Janice i would be shaking right now cause the chipmunks are holding on a thread and that is not good for the brand and that is all because of the damage that was done to the characters in the 2015 show.

I would agree but like I said, they no longer exist because of Disney.

🤨 Do you watch Clownfish TV or any members of The Fandom Menace? I grew up with Disney and Nintendo!

Nope, never heard of those things.

@@Granditamias Also, why do you say the 2015 series was a "failed reboot"? There were some AATC fandom members who enjoyed that show. I even enjoyed it (except for season 5).

It failed in the sense that it didn’t change the general public’s perception of AATC away from the live action chipmunks. I discussed this in a previous video. Just type “Alvin and the chipmunks” into google images and 96% of the images that pop up will be from the live action films.

@@Granditamias I grew up with Disney, even though I love their works but the few problems I have with them are The Post-Endgame era of Marvel, how they are sometimes greedy, Toy Story 5, and how they casted a woman of color as Snow White in the upcoming remake when in the OG source material (both the 1937 film and the 1812 Grimm fairy tale) Snow White was described as having skin *as white as snow.* (I'm not rac!st I love Rachel Zegler and I love Halle Bailey as Ariel) Disney should not have casted Zegler as Snow White.
As for the suggestion of having background music in all future videos, you can disregard the Kingdom Hearts music since you're very anti-Disney, and you can disregard Triple Deluxe, Star Allies, and Starfy. I recommend the following music for your channel: Kevin MacLeod, Kirby Planet Robobot, Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe, Sonic Colors, Sonic Mania, Sonic Adventure, and Sonic Frontiers. I don't know why you don't use music, is it because of copyright reasons?
And the Bagdasarians must pass on the torch to another company and retire for good.

they were created by a dude named Ross Bagdasarian Sr. aka the IRL Dave Seville, and when he passed in 1972, it went on hiatus for a few years, then in the late 70s or early 80s his son Ross Jr and *his* wife Janice took over the franchise and they're still holding onto it to this day. They were even executive producers on the Fox movies.
