    Having trained as an Engineer in Automotive and Aero, its important to remember where in the Design process Adrian sits. He sits at the Conceptual Design stage and has done for a very long time. Its at this stage that the fundamentals of a car, boat or aircraft are laid out and established. Following on from him is the detailed design. Everything is built on the concept stage. I think when the public think of engineering they think of guys getting thier hands dirty etc and have no idea of the depth of thought needed to establish firm design concept. Cameron has a very good feel for this and credit to him for trying to put this over. I think its time for the public to be educated about what the engineering processes involved i bringing a race winning car to the grid (hint hint Netflix). Adrian may then get and feel the proper apprecation that he deserves.

    People who are trying to downplay Newey’s contribution to RB’s latest cars are delusional. And if Newey leaves, those people are going to find out…

      They aren’t delusional they don’t want to downplay Max achievements with an asterisk due to Newey. It’s not delusional it’s somewhat spiteful.
      Unfortunately F1 has attracted cult following great for ratings and viewership but discussions are quite toxic based on past events, crashes, FIA perceived favoritism or the lack there of.
      Unfortunate F1 once upon a time was dope now it’s a tech race with heavy cars that don’t sound nearly as good and don’t drive nearly as fast.

    • @Roguescienceguy
      @Roguescienceguy หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well that's just the same as James Alison plus the almighty merc-engine of 2014 to 2021 which was so far ahead that they dialed that PU down for six years. Max is so blinking good that he can beat professional e-racers in equal machinery. I think only guys like him, Charles and possibly Lewis could do that. At the moment he is by far the best driver in the best car, but with not nearly as large a margin as the W08 to W11 where the Merc just pissed off in the distance.

    • @702TifosiGambler
      @702TifosiGambler หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Roguescienceguy Current RB is more dominant, MB appeared more dominant because the manufacturers got the PU wrong.
      Today’s Q3 the top 10 are separated by half a second yet the RBs still clear 0.3
      During MB dominant run they cleared Q3 often over a second sometimes 1.5
      Yes 14,15,16 were dominant for MB, 17&18 Ferrari was toe to toe with MB and I believe we’re leading the CC & WDC at summer break in 17.
      With these aero cars having Newey as the design engineer is simply the difference, if he were at McLaren or MB or Ferrari even with Max greatness those teams would be leading the charge. There’s a reason Senna left for Williams 70% car 30% driver and in those years like 88,07,16,21 you see drivers extract that extra percent or two that make the difference.

    In all fairness, I like that Hulkenberg has gotten a second chance and I think he's been driving well considering the car he's had. I will be sad to see him leave Haas if for no other reason than it means that Magnussen is now more likely to keep his seat for 2025 (I really think they should have moved on from him before the start of 2024). I would love to see Ollie Bearman and another rookie in the Haas next year but I doubt that would happen and I think a young driver would be better off with an experienced driver for a teammate (aka they screwed Mick Schumacher over by pairing him with Mazepin). Kevin has years of experience but he doesn't strike me as the best guy to have as a mentor.

      I expect Audi to build a good engine in 2026. We'll have to see about the aero side of things, but they're pretty capable in motorsports in general, so it's entirely possible that the takeover could allow their drivers to excel. The point being, with Hulkenberg signed for at least through 2026, he might actually finally get a podium or... dare I say it... a race win. That would be awesome!
      Edit: To be clear, I don't expect Audi to win any races in 2026, and I don't expect them to be among the top 4 teams. But I do think that they could potentially field a much more competitive car than the current Sauber offering, assuming Audi can maximize their capabilities in the lead up to 2026. The real curveball is Red Bull, who I personally think will struggle massively with their own engine (and rumors seem to indicate this is already looking to be the case). But my point is, if Audi can plan and execute at a high level to be ready for 2026, then it's not out of the realm of possibilities that through some kind of minor miracle, Hulkenberg could finish his F1 career with at least 1 podium and that would be a joy to finally witness. I think he deserves it.

    I get the feeling that this desire to structure the team around people who aren't Newey is a big part of the reason why he's decided to leave the team. I think maybe he sees the writing on the wall with Red Bull's engine development as well. I think all of this is souring him on his future at Red Bull and, maybe at least in part due to Hamilton's landmark move to Mercedes he has come to realize that he's better off moving on or just retiring altogether. A lot has been made about the Horner situation but I really feel that there are a number of factors at play here and that's probably the least of them.
    Newey strikes me as a guy who feels underappreciated given that he's been so key to winning so many championship titles, and I don't blame him one bit. I absolutely think he's been massively underappreciated at many points in his illustrious career.

    I will eat my hat if the best non-champion on the grid isn’t Red Bull’s first choice to replace the Dutch wonder. We’re about to see a German automotive giant and an Austro-Thai energy drinks company go to all-out war. 🤣

      @petervandervliet640 uh huh! And how do you think red bull will enforce that? Couple of guys in a coffee shop in the the countryside of Italy could be talking about anything, a gift to the wife of Adrian Newey for some "delicious pie"
      Gardening leave my foot. 😂

    Bet you red Bull will continue to win without Adrian.
    If I was Red Bull I would hire Antonelli to replace Yuki, team him up with Lawson
    Daniel and Sergio would hold the fort in 2025 and they falter then hire Lando

    Jos Verstappen isn't an all-round, particularly nice fellow, but somehow his ill-intentioned prediction, about yet another not particularly nice chap, (Christian Horner), is becoming the truth.
    Verstappen suggested that RedBull would implode if Horner remained in it.
    Hence the concerted effort with RedBull Austria, Dr Helmut Marko, even Max Verstappen and the as yet unamed publically 'female employee', to oust Horner. So far, it has not been successful.
    This latest news of Adrian Newey leaving RedBull and now Max Verstappen negotiating with Mercedes, is a very big deal indeedl.
    Horner has said that a successful F1 team like RedBull, can survive the loss of current key personnel like Max Verstappen and important engineers, but of course not Horner . . .
    Therein lies the problem. And the solution . . .
    The next era's rules and regulations will determine which of the F1 teams will dominate. Key personnel with the talent and the professional skills and experience to further the success of those teams, are going to be at a premium.
    The best and most successful team planners have been making their 'moves' for some years already.
    "May the best man win!"

    100% agree, love Rosberg when he’s on Sky. His insight to driving modern cars is great i.e. Explaining why Norris poor practise start was concerning. His strong opinions might sometimes be controversial but better than towing the company line every week 🥱
